2சாமுவேல் அத்தியாயம் 10

அதன் பின்பு அம்மோன் புத்திரரின் ராஜா மரித்துப்போனான்; அவன் குமாரனாகிய ஆனூன் அவன் பட்டத்திற்கு ராஜாவானான்.

And it came to pass after this, that the king of the children of Ammon died, and Hanun his son reigned in his stead.

அப்பொழுது தாவீது: ஆனூனின் தகப்பனாகிய நாகாஸ் எனக்குத் தயை செய்ததுபோல, அவன் குமாரனாகிய இவனுக்கு நான் தயை செய்வேன் என்று சொல்லி, அவன் தகப்பனுக்காக அவனுக்கு ஆறுதல் சொல்ல, தன் ஊழியக்காரரை அனுப்பினான்; தாவீதின் ஊழியக்காரர் அம்மோன் புத்திரரின் தேசத்திலே வந்தபோது,

Then said David, I will shew kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash, as his father shewed kindness unto me. And David sent to comfort him by the hand of his servants for his father. And David's servants came into the land of the children of Ammon.

அம்மோன் புத்திரரின் பிரபுக்கள் தங்கள் ஆண்டவனாகிய ஆனூனைப் பார்த்து: தாவீது ஆறுதல் சொல்லுகிறவர்களை உம்மிடத்தில் அனுப்பினது, உம்முடைய தகப்பனைக் கனம்பண்ணுகிறதாய் உமக்குத் தோன்றுகிறதோ? இந்தப் பட்டணத்தை ஆராய்ந்து, உளவுபார்த்து, அதைக் கவிழ்த்துப்போட அல்லவோ தாவீது தன் ஊழியக்காரரை உம்மிடத்திற்கு அனுப்பினான் என்றார்கள்.

And the princes of the children of Ammon said unto Hanun their lord, Thinkest thou that David doth honour thy father, that he hath sent comforters unto thee? hath not David rather sent his servants unto thee, to search the city, and to spy it out, and to overthrow it?

அப்பொழுது ஆனூன்: தாவீதின் ஊழியக்காரரைப் பிடித்து, அவர்களுடைய ஒருபக்கத்துத் தாடியைச் சிரைத்து, அவர்களுடைய வஸ்திரங்களை இருப்பிடமட்டும் வைத்துவிட்டு, மற்றப்பாதியைக் கத்தரித்துப்போட்டு, அவர்களை அனுப்பிவிட்டான்.

Wherefore Hanun took David's servants, and shaved off the one half of their beards, and cut off their garments in the middle, even to their buttocks, and sent them away.

When they told it unto David, he sent to meet them, because the men were greatly ashamed: and the king said, Tarry at Jericho until your beards be grown, and then return.

And when the children of Ammon saw that they stank before David, the children of Ammon sent and hired the Syrians of Bethrehob, and the Syrians of Zoba, twenty thousand footmen, and of king Maacah a thousand men, and of Ishtob twelve thousand men.

அதைத் தாவீது கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, யோவாபையும் பராக்கிரமசாலிகளாகிய சமஸ்த இராணுவத்தையும் அனுப்பினான்.

And when David heard of it, he sent Joab, and all the host of the mighty men.

அம்மோன் புத்திரர் புறப்பட்டு, ஒலிமுகவாசலண்டையிலே போர்செய்ய அணிவகுத்து நின்றார்கள்; ஆனாலும் சோபாவிலும் ரேகோபிலுமிருந்து வந்த சீரியரும், இஷ்தோபிலும் மாக்காவிலுமிருந்து வந்த மனுஷரும், வெளியிலே பிரத்தியேகமாயிருந்தார்கள்.

And the children of Ammon came out, and put the battle in array at the entering in of the gate: and the Syrians of Zoba, and of Rehob, and Ishtob, and Maacah, were by themselves in the field.

யோவாபோ இராணுவங்களின் படைமுகம் தனக்கு முன்னும் பின்னும் இருக்கிறதைக் காண்கையில், அவன் இஸ்ரவேலிலே தெரிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்ட எல்லா இராணுவங்களிலும் ஒரு பங்கைப் பிரித்தெடுத்து, அதைச் சீரியருக்கு எதிராக அணிவகுத்து நிறுத்தி,

When Joab saw that the front of the battle was against him before and behind, he chose of all the choice men of Israel, and put them in array against the Syrians:

மற்ற ஜனத்தை அம்மோன் புத்திரருக்கு எதிராக அணிவகுத்து நிறுத்தும்படி தன் சகோதரனாகிய அபிசாயினிடத்தில் ஒப்புவித்து:

And the rest of the people he delivered into the hand of Abishai his brother, that he might put them in array against the children of Ammon.

சீரியர் கைமிஞ்சுகிறதாயிருந்தால் நீ எனக்கு உதவிசெய்யவேண்டும்; அம்மோன் புத்திரர் கை மிஞ்சுகிறதாயிருந்தால் நான் உனக்கு உதவிசெய்ய வருவேன்.

And he said, If the Syrians be too strong for me, then thou shalt help me: but if the children of Ammon be too strong for thee, then I will come and help thee.

தைரியமாயிரு: நம்முடைய ஜனத்திற்காகவும், நம்முடைய தேவனுடைய பட்டணங்களுக்காகவும் சவுரியத்தைக் காட்டுவோம்; கர்த்தர் தமது பார்வைக்கு நலமானதைச் செய்வாராக என்றான்.

Be of good courage, and let us play the men for our people, and for the cities of our God: and the LORD do that which seemeth him good.

யோவாபும் அவனோடிருந்த ஜனமும் சீரியர்மேல் யுத்தம்பண்ணக் கிட்டினார்கள்; அவர்கள் அவனுக்கு முன்பாக முறிந்தோடினார்கள்.

And Joab drew nigh, and the people that were with him, unto the battle against the Syrians: and they fled before him.

சீரியர் முறிந்தோடுகிறதை அம்மோன் புத்திரர் கண்டபோது, அவர்களும் அபிசாயிக்கு முன்பாக முறிந்தோடிப் பட்டணத்திற்குள் புகுந்தார்கள்: அப்பொழுது யோவாப் அம்மோன் புத்திரரை விட்டுத் திரும்பி எருசலேமுக்கு வந்தான்.

And when the children of Ammon saw that the Syrians were fled, then fled they also before Abishai, and entered into the city. So Joab returned from the children of Ammon, and came to Jerusalem.

தாங்கள் இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு முன்பாக முறிய அடிக்கப்பட்டதைச் சீரியர் கண்டபோது, ஒருமிக்கக் கூடினார்கள்.

And when the Syrians saw that they were smitten before Israel, they gathered themselves together.

ஆதாரேசர் நதிக்கு அப்பாலிருந்த சீரியரையும் அழைத்தனுப்பினான்; அவர்கள் ஏலாமுக்கு வந்தார்கள்; ஆதாரேசருடைய படைத்தலைவனாகிய சோபாக் அவர்களுக்கு முன்னாலே சென்றான்.

And Hadarezer sent, and brought out the Syrians that were beyond the river: and they came to Helam; and Shobach the captain of the host of Hadarezer went before them.

அது தாவீதுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டபோது, அவன் இஸ்ரவேலையெல்லாம் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, யோர்தானைக் கடந்து, ஏலாமுக்குப் போனான்; சீரியர் தாவீதுக்கு எதிராக இராணுவங்களை அணிவகுத்து நின்றார்கள்; அவனோடு யுத்தம்பண்ணுகிறபோது,

And when it was told David, he gathered all Israel together, and passed over Jordan, and came to Helam. And the Syrians set themselves in array against David, and fought with him.

சீரியர் இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு முன்பாக முறிந்தோடினார்கள்; தாவீது சீரியரில் எழுநூறு இரதவீரரையும் நாற்பதினாயிரும் குதிரைவீரரையும் கொன்று, அவர்களுடைய படைத்தலைவனாகிய சோபாகையும் சாகும்படி வெட்டிப்போட்டான்.

And the Syrians fled before Israel; and David slew the men of seven hundred chariots of the Syrians, and forty thousand horsemen, and smote Shobach the captain of their host, who died there.

அப்பொழுது ஆதாரேசரைச் சேவிக்கிற சகல ராஜாக்களும் தாங்கள் இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு முன்பாக முறிய அடிக்கப்பட்டதைக் கண்டு, இஸ்ரவேலரோடே சமாதானம்பண்ணி, அவர்களைச் சேவித்தார்கள். அப்புறம் அம்மோன் புத்திரருக்கு உதவிசெய்ய சீரியர் பயப்பட்டார்கள்.

And when all the kings that were servants to Hadarezer saw that they were smitten before Israel, they made peace with Israel, and served them. So the Syrians feared to help the children of Ammon any more.

2சாமுவேல் அத்தியாயம் 11

மறுவருஷம் ராஜாக்கள் யுத்தத்திற்குப் புறப்படுங்காலம் வந்தபோது, தாவீது யோவாபையும், அவனோடேகூடத் தன் சேவகரையும், இஸ்ரவேல் அனைத்தையும், அம்மோன் புத்திரரை அழிக்கவும், ரப்பாவை முற்றிக்கைபோடவும் அனுப்பினான். தாவீதோ எருசலேமில் இருந்துவிட்டான்.

And it came to pass, after the year was expired, at the time when kings go forth to battle, that David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem.

ஒருநாள் சாயங்காலத்தில் தாவீது தன் படுக்கையிலிருந்து எழுந்து, அரமனை உப்பரிகையின்மேல் உலாத்திக்கொண்டிருக்கும்போது, ஸ்நானம்பண்ணுகிற ஒரு ஸ்திரீயை உப்பரிகையின் மேலிருந்து கண்டான்; அந்த ஸ்திரீ வெகு சௌந்தரவதியாயிருந்தாள்.

And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king's house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon.

அப்பொழுது தாவீது, அந்த ஸ்திரீ யார் என்று விசாரிக்க ஆள் அனுப்பினான்; அவள் எலியாமின் குமாரத்தியும், ஏத்தியனான உரியாவின் மனைவியுமாகிய பத்சேபாள் என்றார்கள்.

And David sent and enquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?

அப்பொழுது தாவீது ஆள் அனுப்பி அவளை அழைத்துவரச் சொன்னான்; அவள் அவனிடத்தில் வந்தபோது, அவளோடே சயனித்தான்; பிற்பாடு அவள் தன் தீட்டு நீங்கும்படி சுத்திகரித்துக்கொண்டு தன் வீட்டுக்குப் போனாள்.

And David sent messengers, and took her; and she came in unto him, and he lay with her; for she was purified from her uncleanness: and she returned unto her house.

அந்த ஸ்திரீ கர்ப்பம் தரித்து, தான் கர்ப்பவதியென்று தாவீதுக்கு அறிவிக்கும்படி ஆள் அனுப்பினாள்.

And the woman conceived, and sent and told David, and said, I am with child.

அப்பொழுது தாவீது: ஏத்தியனாகிய உரியாவை என்னிடத்தில் அனுப்பு என்று யோவாபினண்டைக்கு ஆள் அனுப்பினான்; அப்படியே யோவாப் உரியாவைத் தாவீதினிடத்திற்கு அனுப்பினான்.

And David sent to Joab, saying, Send me Uriah the Hittite. And Joab sent Uriah to David.

உரியா அவனிடத்தில் வந்தபோது, தாவீது அவனைப் பார்த்து: யோவாப் சுகமாயிருக்கிறானா, ஜனங்கள் சுகமாயிருக்கிறார்களா, யுத்தத்தின் செய்தி நற்செய்தியா என்று விசாரித்தான்.

And when Uriah was come unto him, David demanded of him how Joab did, and how the people did, and how the war prospered.

பின்பு தாவீது உரியாவை நோக்கி: நீ உன் வீட்டிற்குப் போய், பாதசுத்தி செய் என்றான்; உரியா ராஜ அரமனையிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டபோது, ராஜாவினிடத்திலிருந்து உச்சிதமான பதார்த்தங்கள் அவன் பின்னாலே அனுப்பப்பட்டது.

And David said to Uriah, Go down to thy house, and wash thy feet. And Uriah departed out of the king's house, and there followed him a mess of meat from the king.

ஆனாலும் உரியா தன் வீட்டிற்குப் போகாமல், ராஜ அரமனையின் வாசலிலே தன் ஆண்டவனுடைய எல்லாச் சேவகரோடுங்கூட படுத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தான்.

But Uriah slept at the door of the king's house with all the servants of his lord, and went not down to his house.

உரியா தன் வீட்டிற்குப் போகவில்லையென்று தாவீதுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டபோது, தாவீது உரியாவை நோக்கி: நீ பயணத்திலிருந்து வந்தவன் அல்லவா, நீ உன் வீட்டிற்குப் போகாதிருக்கிறது என்ன என்று கேட்டான்.

And when they had told David, saying, Uriah went not down unto his house, David said unto Uriah, Camest thou not from thy journey? why then didst thou not go down unto thine house?

உரியா தாவீதை நோக்கி: பெட்டியும் இஸ்ரவேலும் யூதாவும் கூடாரங்களிலே தங்கி, என் ஆண்டவனாகிய யோவாபும் என் ஆண்டவனின் சேவகரும் வெளியிலே பாளயமிறங்கியிருக்கையில், நான் புசிக்கிறதற்கும், குடிக்கிறதற்கும், என் மனைவியோடே சயனிக்கிறதற்கும், என் வீட்டுக்குள் பிரவேசிப்பேனா? நான் அப்படிச் செய்கிறதில்லை என்று உம்முடையபேரிலும் உம்முடைய ஆத்துமாவின்பேரிலும் ஆணையிட்டுச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றான்.

And Uriah said unto David, The ark, and Israel, and Judah, abide in tents; and my lord Joab, and the servants of my lord, are encamped in the open fields; shall I then go into mine house, to eat and to drink, and to lie with my wife? as thou livest, and as thy soul liveth, I will not do this thing.

அப்பொழுது தாவீது உரியாவை நோக்கி: இன்றைக்கும் நீ இங்கேயிரு; நாளைக்கு உன்னை அனுப்பிவிடுவேன் என்றான்; அப்படியே உரியா அன்றும் மறுநாளும் எருசலேமில் இருந்தான்.

And David said to Uriah, Tarry here to day also, and to morrow I will let thee depart. So Uriah abode in Jerusalem that day, and the morrow.

தாவீது அவனைத் தனக்கு முன்பாகப் புசித்துக் குடிக்கிறதற்கு அழைத்து, அவனை வெறிக்கப்பண்ணினான்; ஆனாலும் அவன் தன் வீட்டுக்குப் போகாமல், சாயங்காலத்திலே தன் ஆண்டவனின் சேவகரோடே தன் படுக்கையிலே படுத்துக்கொண்டான்.

And when David had called him, he did eat and drink before him; and he made him drunk: and at even he went out to lie on his bed with the servants of his lord, but went not down to his house.

காலமே தாவீது யோவாபுக்கு ஒரு நிருபத்தை எழுதி, உரியாவின் கையில் கொடுத்து அனுப்பினான்.

And it came to pass in the morning, that David wrote a letter to Joab, and sent it by the hand of Uriah.

அந்த நிருபத்திலே மும்முரமாய் நடக்கிற போர்முகத்திலே நீங்கள் உரியாவை நிறுத்தி, அவன் வெட்டுண்டு சாகும்படிக்கு, அவனை விட்டுப் பின்வாங்குங்கள் என்று எழுதியிருந்தான்.

And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that he may be smitten, and die.

அப்படியே யோவாப் அந்தப் பட்டணத்தைச் சூழக் காவல்போட்டிருக்கையில் பராக்கிரமசாலிகள் இருக்கிறார்கள் என்று தான் அறிந்த இடத்தில் உரியாவை நிறுத்தினான்.

And it came to pass, when Joab observed the city, that he assigned Uriah unto a place where he knew that valiant men were.

பட்டணத்து மனுஷர் புறப்பட்டு வந்து யோவாபோடே யுத்தம்பண்ணுகையில், தாவீதின் சேவகராகிய ஜனத்தில் சிலர் பட்டார்கள்; ஏத்தியனாகிய உரியாவும் செத்தான்.

And the men of the city went out, and fought with Joab: and there fell some of the people of the servants of David; and Uriah the Hittite died also.

அப்பொழுது யோவாப் அந்த யுத்தத்தின் செய்திகளையெல்லாம் தாவீதுக்கு அறிவிக்க ஆள் அனுப்பி,

Then Joab sent and told David all the things concerning the war;

தான் அனுப்புகிற ஆளை நோக்கி: நீ யுத்தத்தின் செய்திகளையெல்லாம் ராஜாவுக்குச் சொல்லித் தீர்ந்தபோது,

And charged the messenger, saying, When thou hast made an end of telling the matters of the war unto the king,

ராஜாவுக்குக் கோபம் எழும்பி, அவர்: நீங்கள் பட்டணத்திற்கு இத்தனை கிட்டப்போய் யுத்தம் பண்ணவேண்டியது என்ன? அலங்கத்தில் நின்று எய்வார்கள் என்று உங்களுக்குத் தெரியாதா?

And if so be that the king's wrath arise, and he say unto thee, Wherefore approached ye so nigh unto the city when ye did fight? knew ye not that they would shoot from the wall?

எருப்பேசேத்தின் குமாரன் அபிமெலேக்கைக் கொன்றது யார்? தேபேசிலே ஒரு பெண்பிள்ளை அலங்கத்திலிருந்து ஒரு ஏந்திரக்கல்லின் துண்டை அவன்மேல் போட்டதினால் அல்லவோ அவன் செத்தான்; நீங்கள் அலங்கத்திற்கு இத்தனை கிட்டப்போனது என்ன என்று உன்னோடே சொன்னால், அப்பொழுது நீ, உம்முடைய சேவகனாகிய உரியா என்னும் ஏத்தியனும் செத்தான் என்று சொல் என்றான்.

Who smote Abimelech the son of Jerubbesheth? did not a woman cast a piece of a millstone upon him from the wall, that he died in Thebez? why went ye nigh the wall? then say thou, Thy servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also.

அந்த ஆள் போய், உட்பிரவேசித்து, யோவாப் தன்னிடத்தில் சொல்லியனுப்பின செய்திகளையெல்லாம் தாவீதுக்கு அறிவித்து,

So the messenger went, and came and shewed David all that Joab had sent him for.

தாவீதைப் பார்த்து; அந்த மனுஷர் கைமிஞ்சி, அவர்கள் வெளியே எங்களுக்கு எதிராகப் புறப்பட்டு வந்தபோது, நாங்கள் பட்டணவாசல்மட்டும் அவர்களைத் துரத்தினோம்.

And the messenger said unto David, Surely the men prevailed against us, and came out unto us into the field, and we were upon them even unto the entering of the gate.

அப்பொழுது வில்வீரர் அலங்கத்திலிருந்து உம்முடைய சேவகரின்மேல் எய்ததினால், ராஜாவின் சேவகரில் சிலர் செத்தார்கள்; உம்முடைய சேவகனாகிய உரியா என்னும் ஏத்தியனும் செத்தான் என்றான்.

And the shooters shot from off the wall upon thy servants; and some of the king's servants be dead, and thy servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also.

அப்பொழுது தாவீது அந்த ஆளை நோக்கி: நீ யோவாபினிடத்தில் போய், இந்தக் காரியத்தைப்பற்றி விசாரப்படவேண்டாம்; பட்டயம் ஒருவேளை ஒருவனையும், ஒருவேளை வேறொருவனையும் பட்சிக்கும்; நீ யுத்தத்தைப் பலக்கப்பண்ணி, பட்டணத்தை இடித்துப்போடு என்று அவனுக்குத் திடஞ்சொல் என்றான்.

Then David said unto the messenger, Thus shalt thou say unto Joab, Let not this thing displease thee, for the sword devoureth one as well as another: make thy battle more strong against the city, and overthrow it: and encourage thou him.

தன் புருஷனாகிய உரியா செத்தான் என்று அவன் மனைவி கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, அவள் தன் நாயகனுக்காக இழவு கொண்டாடினாள்.

And when the wife of Uriah heard that Uriah her husband was dead, she mourned for her husband.

துக்கநாள் சென்றபின்பு, தாவீது அவளை அழைத்தனுப்பி, தன் வீட்டிலே சேர்த்துக்கொண்டான்; அவள் அவனுக்கு மனைவியாகி, அவனுக்கு ஒரு குமாரனைப் பெற்றாள். தாவீது செய்த இந்தக் காரியம் கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாததாயிருந்தது.

And when the mourning was past, David sent and fetched her to his house, and she became his wife, and bare him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased the LORD.

1கொரிந்தியர் அத்தியாயம் 12

அன்றியும், சகோதரரே, ஆவிக்குரிய வரங்களைக்குறித்து நீங்கள் அறியாதிருக்க எனக்கு மனதில்லை.

Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

நீங்கள் அஞ்ஞானிகளாயிருந்தபோது ஏவப்பட்டபடியே, ஊமையான விக்கிரகங்களிடத்தில் மனதைச் செலுத்தினீர்களென்று உங்களுக்குத் தெரியுமே.

Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.

ஆதலால், தேவனுடைய ஆவியினாலே பேசுகிற எவனும் இயேசுவைச் சபிக்கப்பட்டவனென்று சொல்லமாட்டானென்றும், பரிசுத்த ஆவியினாலேயன்றி இயேசுவைக் கர்த்தரென்று ஒருவனும் சொல்லக்கூடாதென்றும், உங்களுக்குத் தெரிவிக்கிறேன்.

Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

வரங்களில் வித்தியாசங்கள் உண்டு, ஆவியானவர் ஒருவரே.

Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

ஊழியங்களிலேயும் வித்தியாசங்கள் உண்டு, கர்த்தர் ஒருவரே.

And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

கிரியைகளிலேயும் வித்தியாசங்கள் உண்டு, எல்லாருக்குள்ளும் எல்லாவற்றையும் நடப்பிக்கிற தேவன் ஒருவரே.

And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

ஆவியினுடைய அநுக்கிரகம் அவனவனுடைய பிரயோஜனத்திற்கென்று அளிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.

But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

எப்படியெனில், ஒருவனுக்கு ஆவியினாலே ஞானத்தைப் போதிக்கும் வசனமும், வேறொருவனுக்கு அந்த ஆவியினாலேயே அறிவை உணர்த்தும் வசனமும்,

For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

வேறொருவனுக்கு அந்த ஆவியினாலேயே விசுவாசமும், வேறொருவனுக்கு அந்த ஆவியினாலேயே குணமாக்கும் வரங்களும்,

To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

வேறொருவனுக்கு அற்புதங்களைச் செய்யும் சக்தியும், வேறொருவனுக்குத் தீர்க்கதரிசனம் உரைத்தலும், வேறொருவனுக்கு ஆவிகளைப் பகுத்தறிதலும், வேறொருவனுக்குப் பற்பல பாஷைகளைப் பேசுதலும், வேறொருவனுக்குப் பாஷைகளை வியாக்கியானம்பண்ணுதலும் அளிக்கப்படுகிறது.

To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

இவைகளையெல்லாம் அந்த ஒரே ஆவியானவர் நடப்பித்து, தமது சித்தத்தின்படியே அவனவனுக்குப் பகிர்ந்து கொடுக்கிறார்.

But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

எப்படியெனில், சரீரம் ஒன்று, அதற்கு அவயவங்கள் அநேகம்; ஒரே சரீரத்தின் அவயவங்களெல்லாம் அநேகமாயிருந்தும், சரீரம் ஒன்றாகவேயிருக்கிறது; அந்தப்பிரகாரமாகக் கிறிஸ்துவும் இருக்கிறார்.

For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

நாம் யூதராயினும், கிரேக்கராயினும், அடிமைகளாயினும், சுயாதீனராயினும், எல்லாரும் ஒரே ஆவியினாலே ஒரே சரீரத்திற்குள்ளாக ஞானஸ்நானம்பண்ணப்பட்டு, எல்லாரும் ஒரே ஆவிக்குள்ளாகவே தாகந்தீர்க்கப்பட்டோம்.

For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

சரீரமும் ஒரே அவயவமாயிராமல் அநேக அவயவங்களாயிருக்கிறது.

For the body is not one member, but many.

காலானது நான் கையாயிராதபடியினாலே, நான் சரீரத்தின் அவயவமல்லவென்றால், அதினாலே அது சரீரத்தின் அவயவமாயிராதோ?

If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

காதானது நான் கண்ணாயிராதபடியினாலே, நான் சரீரத்தின் அவயவமல்லவென்றால், அதினாலே அது சரீரத்தின் அவயவமாயிராதோ?

And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

சரீரம் முழுவதும் கண்ணானால், செவி எங்கே? அது முழுவதும் செவியானால், மோப்பம் எங்கே?

If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?

தேவன் தமது சித்தத்தின்படி, அவயவங்கள் ஒவ்வொன்றையும் சரீரத்திலே வைத்தார்.

But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

அவையெல்லாம் ஒரே அவயவமாயிருந்தால், சரீரம் எங்கே?

And if they were all one member, where were the body?

அவயவங்கள் அநேகமாயிருந்தும், சரீரம் ஒன்றே.

But now are they many members, yet but one body.

கண்ணானது கையைப்பார்த்து: நீ எனக்கு வேண்டுவதில்லையென்றும்; தலையானது கால்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் எனக்கு வேண்டுவதில்லையென்றும் சொல்லக்கூடாது.

And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

சரீர அவயவங்களில் பலவீனமுள்ளவைகளாய்க் காணப்படுகிறவைகளே மிகவும் வேண்டியவைகளாயிருக்கிறது.

Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:

மேலும், சரீர அவயவங்களில் கனவீனமாய்க் காணப்படுகிறவைகளுக்கே அதிக கனத்தைக் கொடுக்கிறோம்; நம்மில் இலட்சணமில்லாதவைகளே அதிக அலங்காரம் பெறும்;

And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.

நம்மில் இலட்சணமுள்ளவைகளுக்கு அலங்கரிப்பு வேண்டியதில்லை.

For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked:

சரீரத்திலே பிரிவினையுண்டாயிராமல், அவயவங்கள் ஒன்றைக்குறித்து ஒன்று கவலையாயிருக்கும்படிக்கு, தேவன் கனத்தில் குறைவுள்ளதற்கு அதிக கனத்தைக் கொடுத்து, இப்படிச் சரீரத்தை அமைத்திருக்கிறார்.

That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.

ஆதலால் ஒறு அவயவம் பாடுபட்டால் எல்லா அவயவங்களும் கூடப் பாடுபடும்; ஒரு அவயவம் மகிமைப்பட்டால் எல்லா அவயவங்களும் கூடச் சந்தோஷப்படும்.

And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

நீங்களே கிறிஸ்துவின் சரீரமாயும், தனித்தனியே அவயவங்களாயுமிருக்கிறீர்கள்.

Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

தேவனானவர் சபையிலே முதலாவது அப்போஸ்தலரையும், இரண்டாவது தீர்க்கதரிசிகளையும், மூன்றாவது போதகர்களையும், பின்பு அற்புதங்களையும், பின்பு குணமாக்கும் வரங்களையும், ஊழியங்களையும், ஆளுகைகளையும், பலவித பாஷைகளையும் ஏற்படுத்தினார்.

And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

எல்லாரும் அப்போஸ்தலர்களா? எல்லாரும் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளா? எல்லாரும் போதகர்களா? எல்லாரும் அற்புதங்களைச் செய்கிறவர்களா?

Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?

எல்லாரும் குணமாக்கும் வரங்களுடையவர்களா? எல்லாரும் அந்நிய பாஷைகளைப் பேசுகிறார்களா? எல்லாரும் வியாக்கியானம்பண்ணுகிறார்களா?

Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

இப்படியிருக்க, முக்கியமான வரங்களை நாடுங்கள்; இன்னும் அதிக மேன்மையான வழியையும் உங்களுக்குக் காண்பிக்கிறேன்.

But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

நான் மனுஷர் பாஷைகளையும் தூதர் பாஷைகளையும் பேசினாலும், அன்பு எனக்கிராவிட்டால், சத்தமிடுகிற வெண்கலம்போலவும், ஓசையிடுகிற கைத்தாளம்போலவும் இருப்பேன்.

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

நான் தீர்க்கதரிசன வரத்தை உடையவனாயிருந்து, சகல இரகசியங்களையும், சகல அறிவையும் அறிந்தாலும், மலைகளைப் பேர்க்கத்தக்கதாக சகல விசுவாசமுள்ளவனாயிருந்தாலும், அன்பு எனக்கிராவிட்டால் நான் ஒன்றுமில்லை.

And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

எனக்கு உண்டான யாவற்றையும் நான் அன்னதானம்பண்ணினாலும், என் சரீரத்தைச் சுட்டெரிக்கப்படுவதற்குக் கொடுத்தாலும், அன்பு எனக்கிராவிட்டால் எனக்குப் பிரயோஜனம் ஒன்றுமில்லை.

And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

அன்பு நீடிய சாந்தமும் தயவுமுள்ளது; அன்புக்குப் பொறாமையில்லை; அன்பு தன்னைப் புகழாது, இறுமாப்பாயிராது,

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

அயோக்கியமானதைச் செய்யாது, தற்பொழிவை நாடாது, சினமடையாது, தீங்கு நினையாது,

Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

அநியாயத்தில் சந்தோஷப்படாமல், சத்தியத்தில் சந்தோஷப்படும்.

Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

சகலத்தையும் தாங்கும், சகலத்தையும் விசுவாசிக்கும், சகலத்தையும் நம்பும், சகலத்தையும் சகிக்கும்.

Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

அன்பு ஒருக்காலும் ஒழியாது. தீர்க்கதரிசனங்களானாலும் ஒழிந்துபோம், அந்நிய பாஷைகளானாலும் ஓய்ந்துபோகும், அறிவானாலும் ஒழிந்துபோம்.

Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

நம்முடைய அறிவு குறைவுள்ளது, நாம் தீர்க்கதரிசனஞ்சொல்லுதலும் குறைவுள்ளது.

For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

நிறைவானது வரும்போது குறைவானது ஒழிந்துபோம்.

But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

நான் குழந்தையாயிருந்தபோது குழந்தையைப்போலப் பேசினேன், குழந்தையைப்போலச் சிந்தித்தேன், குழந்தையைப்போல யோசித்தேன்; நான் புருஷனானபோதோ குழந்தைக்கேற்றவைகளை ஒழித்துவிட்டேன்.

When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

இப்பொழுது கண்ணாடியிலே நிழலாட்டமாய்ப் பார்க்கிறோம், அப்பொழுது முகமுகமாய்ப் பார்ப்போம்; இப்பொழுது நான் குறைந்த அறிவுள்ளவன், அப்பொழுது நான் அறியப்பட்டிருக்கிறபடியே அறிந்துகொள்ளுவேன்.

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

இப்பொழுது விசுவாசம், நம்பிக்கை, அன்பு இம்மூன்றும் நிலைத்திருக்கிறது; இவைகளில் அன்பே பெரியது.

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
