2சாமுவேல் அத்தியாயம் 5

அக்காலத்திலே இஸ்ரவேலின் கோத்திரங்களெல்லாம் எப்ரோனிலிருக்கிற தாவீதினிடத்தில் வந்து: இதோ, நாங்கள் உம்முடைய எலும்பும் உம்முடைய மாம்சமுமானவர்கள்.

Then came all the tribes of Israel to David unto Hebron, and spake, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.

சவுல் எங்கள்மேல் ராஜாவாயிருக்கும்போதே இஸ்ரவேலை நடத்திக்கொண்டுபோனவரும், நடத்திக்கொண்டு வந்தவரும் நீரே; கர்த்தர்: என் ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலை நீ மேய்த்து, நீ இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் தலைவனாயிருப்பாய் என்று உம்மிடத்தில் சொன்னாரே என்றார்கள்.

Also in time past, when Saul was king over us, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the LORD said to thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be a captain over Israel.

இஸ்ரவேலின் மூப்பர் எல்லாரும் எப்ரோனிலே ராஜாவினிடத்தில் வந்தார்கள்; தாவீது ராஜா எப்ரோனிலே கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக அவர்களோடே உடன்படிக்கைபண்ணினபின்பு, அவர்கள் தாவீதை இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் ராஜாவாக அபிஷேகம்பண்ணினார்கள்.

So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the LORD: and they anointed David king over Israel.

தாவீது ராஜாவாகும்போது, முப்பது வயதாயிருந்தான்; அவன் நாற்பது வருஷம் ராஜ்யபாரம் பண்ணினான்.

David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.

அவன் எப்ரோனிலே யூதாவின்மேல் ஏழு வருஷமும் ஆறு மாதமும், எருசலேமிலே சமஸ்த இஸ்ரவேலின்மேலும் யூதாவின்மேலும் முப்பத்துமூன்று வருஷமும் ராஜ்யபாரம்பண்ணினான்.

In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.

தேசத்திலே குடியிருக்கிற எபூசியர்மேல் யுத்தம்பண்ண ராஜாவானவன் தன் மனுஷரோடேகூட எருசலேமுக்குப் போனான். அவர்கள்: இதிலே பிரவேசிக்க தாவீதினால் கூடாது என்று எண்ணி, தாவீதை நோக்கி: நீ இதற்குள் பிரவேசிப்பதில்லை; குருடரும் சப்பாணிகளும் உன்னைத் தடுப்பார்கள் என்று சொன்னார்கள்.

And the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land: which spake unto David, saying, Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither: thinking, David cannot come in hither.

ஆனாலும் தாவீது சீயோன் கோட்டையைப் பிடித்தான்; அது தாவீதின் நகரமாயிற்று.

Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David.

எவன் சாலகத்தின் வழியாய் ஏறி, எபூசியரையும் தாவீதின் ஆத்துமா பகைக்கிற சப்பாணிகளையும், குருடரையும் முறிய அடிக்கிறானோ, அவன் தலைவனாயிருப்பான் என்று தாவீது அன்றையதினம் சொல்லியிருந்தான்; அதனால் குருடனும் சப்பாணியும் வீட்டிலே வரலாகாது என்று சொல்லுகிறதுண்டு.

And David said on that day, Whosoever getteth up to the gutter, and smiteth the Jebusites, and the lame and the blind, that are hated of David's soul, he shall be chief and captain. Wherefore they said, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.

அந்தக் கோட்டையிலே தாவீது வாசம்பண்ணி, அதற்குத் தாவீதின் நகரம் என்று பேரிட்டு, மில்லோ என்னும் ஸ்தலந்துவக்கி, உட்புறமட்டும் சுற்றிலும் இருக்கிற மதிலைக் கட்டினான்.

So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward.

தாவீது நாளுக்குநாள் விருத்தியடைந்தான்; சேனைகளின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் அவனோடேகூட இருந்தார்.

And David went on, and grew great, and the LORD God of hosts was with him.

தீருவின் ராஜாவாகிய ஈராம் தாவீதினிடத்தில் ஸ்தானாபதிகளையும், கேதுரு மரங்களையும், தச்சரையும், கல்தச்சரையும் அனுப்பினான்; அவர்கள் தாவீதுக்கு ஒரு வீட்டைக் கட்டினார்கள்.

And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters, and masons: and they built David an house.

கர்த்தர் தன்னை இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் ராஜாவாகத் திடப்படுத்தி, தம்முடைய ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலினிமித்தம் தன்னுடைய ராஜ்யத்தை உயர்த்தினார் என்று தாவீது கண்டறிந்தபோது,

And David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel's sake.

அவன் எப்ரோனிலிருந்து வந்த பின்பு, எருசலேமில் இன்னும் அதிகமான மறுமனையாட்டிகளையும் ஸ்திரீகளையும் கொண்டான்; இன்னும் அதிக குமாரரும் குமாரத்திகளும் தாவீதுக்குப் பிறந்தார்கள்.

And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron: and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.

எருசலேமில் அவனுக்குச் சம்முவா, சோபாப், நாத்தான், சாலொமோன்,

And these be the names of those that were born unto him in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,

இப்பார், எலிசூவா, நெப்பேக், யப்பியா,

Ibhar also, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia,

எலிஷாமா, எலியாதா, எலிப்பேலேத் என்னும் பேர்களையுடைய குமாரர் பிறந்தார்கள்.

And Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphalet.

தாவீதை இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் ராஜாவாக அபிஷேகம்பண்ணினார்கள் என்று பெலிஸ்தர் கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, அவர்கள் எல்லாரும் தாவீதைத் தேடும்படி வந்தார்கள்; அதைத் தாவீது கேட்டபோது, ஒரு அரணிப்பான இடத்துக்குப் போனான்.

But when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the hold.

பெலிஸ்தரோ வந்து, ரெப்பாயீம் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே பரவியிருந்தார்கள்.

The Philistines also came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

பெலிஸ்தருக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் போகலாமா, அவர்களை என் கையிலே ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பீரா என்று தாவீது கர்த்தரிடத்தில் விசாரித்தபோது, கர்த்தர்: போ, பெலிஸ்தரை உன் கையில் நிச்சயமாய் ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பேன் என்று தாவீதுக்குச் சொன்னார்.

And David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand.

தாவீது பாகால் பிராசீமுக்கு வந்து, அங்கே அவர்களை முறிய அடித்து: தண்ணீர்கள் உடைத்தோடுகிறதுபோல, கர்த்தர் என் சத்துருக்களை எனக்கு முன்பாக உடைத்து ஓடப்பண்ணினார் என்று சொல்லி, அதினிமித்தம் அந்த ஸ்தலத்திற்குப் பாகால்பிராசீம் என்று பேரிட்டான்.

And David came to Baalperazim, and David smote them there, and said, The LORD hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baalperazim.

அங்கே பெலிஸ்தர் தங்கள் விக்கிரகங்களைவிட்டு ஓடிப்போனார்கள்; அவைகளைத் தாவீதும் அவன் மனுஷரும் சுட்டெரித்தார்கள்.

And there they left their images, and David and his men burned them.

பெலிஸ்தர் திரும்பவும் வந்து, ரெப்பாயீம் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே இறங்கினார்கள்.

And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

தாவீது கர்த்தரிடத்தில் விசாரித்ததற்கு, அவர்: நீ நேராய்ப் போகாமல், அவர்களுக்குப் பின்னாலே சுற்றி, முசுக்கட்டைச் செடிகளுக்கு எதிரேயிருந்து, அவர்கள்மேல் பாய்ந்து,

And when David enquired of the LORD, he said, Thou shalt not go up; but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.

முசுக்கட்டைச் செடிகளின் நுனிகளிலே செல்லுகிற இரைச்சலை நீ கேட்கும்போது, சீக்கிரமாய் எழும்பிப்போ; அப்பொழுது பெலிஸ்தரின் பாளயத்தை முறிய அடிக்க, கர்த்தர் உனக்கு முன்பாகப் புறப்பட்டிருப்பார் என்றார்.

And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the LORD go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines.

கர்த்தர் தாவீதுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபிரகாரம் அவன் செய்து, பெலிஸ்தரைக் கேபா துவக்கிக் கேசேர் எல்லைமட்டும் முறிய அடித்தான்.

And David did so, as the LORD had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gazer.

2சாமுவேல் அத்தியாயம் 6

பின்பு தாவீது இஸ்ரவேலர் எல்லாருக்குள்ளும் தெரிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்ட முப்பதினாயிரம்பேரைக் கூட்டி,

Again, David gathered together all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand.

கேருபீன்களின் நடுவே வாசமாயிருக்கிற சேனைகளுடைய கர்த்தரின் நாமம் தொழுதுகொள்ளப்படுகிற தேவனுடைய பெட்டியைப் பாலையூதாவிலிருந்து கொண்டுவரும்படி, அவனும் அவனோடிருந்த அந்த ஸ்தலத்தாரும் எழுந்து போய்,

And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of the LORD of hosts that dwelleth between the cherubims.

தேவனுடைய பெட்டியை ஒரு புது இரதத்தின்மேல் ஏற்றி, அதைக் கிபியாவிலிருக்கிற அபினதாபின் வீட்டிலிருந்து கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்; அபினதாபின் குமாரராகிய ஊசாவும், அகியோவும் அந்தப் புது இரதத்தை நடத்தினார்கள்.

And they set the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in Gibeah: and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drave the new cart.

அவர்கள் தேவனுடைய பெட்டியை ஏற்றி, அதைக் கிபியாவிலிருக்கிற அபினதாபின் வீட்டிலிருந்து நடத்திக்கொண்டு வருகிறபோது, அகியோ பெட்டிக்கு முன்னாலே நடந்தான்.

And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab which was at Gibeah, accompanying the ark of God: and Ahio went before the ark.

தாவீதும் இஸ்ரவேல் சந்ததியார் அனைவரும் தேவதாரு மரத்தால் பண்ணப்பட்ட சகலவித கீதவாத்தியங்களோடும், சுரமண்டலம், தம்புரு, மேளம், வீணை, கைத்தாளம் ஆகிய இவைகளோடும், கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக ஆடிப்பாடிக்கொண்டு போனார்கள்.

And David and all the house of Israel played before the LORD on all manner of instruments made of fir wood, even on harps, and on psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals.

அவர்கள் நாகோனின் களம் இருக்கிற இடத்துக்கு வந்தபோது, மாடுகள் மிரண்டு பெட்டியை அசைத்தபடியினால், ஊசா தேவனுடைய பெட்டியினிடமாய்த் தன் கையை நீட்டி, அதைப் பிடித்தான்.

And when they came to Nachon's threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it.

அப்பொழுது கர்த்தருக்கு ஊசாவின் மேல் கோபமூண்டது; அவனுடைய துணிவினிமித்தம் தேவன் அங்கே அவனை அடித்தார்; அவன் அங்கே தேவனுடைய பெட்டியண்டையில் செத்தான்.

And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.

அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் ஊசாவை அடித்ததினிமித்தம் தாவீது விசனப்பட்டு, அந்த ஸ்தலத்திற்கு இந்நாள் மட்டும் வழங்கிவருகிற பேரேஸ்ஊசா என்னும் பேரிட்டான்.

And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzzah: and he called the name of the place Perezuzzah to this day.

தாவீது அன்றையதினம் கர்த்தருக்குப் பயந்து, கர்த்தருடைய பெட்டி என்னிடத்தில் வருவது எப்படியென்று சொல்லி,

And David was afraid of the LORD that day, and said, How shall the ark of the LORD come to me?

அதைத் தன்னிடத்தில் தாவீதின் நகரத்தில் கொண்டுவர மனதில்லாமல், கித்தியனாகிய ஓபேத்ஏதோமின் வீட்டிலே கொண்டுபோய் வைத்தான்.

So David would not remove the ark of the LORD unto him into the city of David: but David carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite.

கர்த்தருடைய பெட்டி கித்தியனாகிய ஓபேத்ஏதோமின் வீட்டிலே மூன்று மாதம் இருக்கையில் கர்த்தர் ஓபேத்ஏதோமையும் அவன் வீட்டார் அனைவரையும் ஆசீர்வதித்தார்.

And the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obededom the Gittite three months: and the LORD blessed Obededom, and all his household.

தேவனுடைய பெட்டியினிமித்தம் கர்த்தர் ஓபேத்ஏதோமின் வீட்டையும், அவனுக்கு உண்டான எல்லாவற்றையும் ஆசீர்வதித்தார் என்று தாவீது ராஜாவுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது; அப்பொழுது தாவீது தேவனுடைய பெட்டியை ஓபேத்ஏதோமின் வீட்டிலிருந்து தாவீதின் நகரத்துக்கு மகிழ்ச்சியுடனே கொண்டு வந்தான்.

And it was told king David, saying, The LORD hath blessed the house of Obededom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness.

கர்த்தருடைய பெட்டியைச் சுமந்து போகிறவர்கள் ஆறு தப்படி நடந்தபோது, மாடுகளையும் கொழுத்த ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களையும் பலியிட்டான்.

And it was so, that when they that bare the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings.

தாவீது சணல்நூல் ஏபோத்தைத் தரித்துக்கொண்டு, தன் முழுப் பலத்தோடும் கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக நடனம்பண்ணினான்.

And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.

அப்படியே தாவீதும், இஸ்ரவேல் சந்ததியார் அனைவரும் கர்த்தருடைய பெட்டியைக் கெம்பீர சத்தத்தோடும் எக்காள தொனியோடும் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்.

So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.

கர்த்தருடைய பெட்டி தாவீதின் நகரத்திற்குள் பிரவேசிக்கிறபோது, சவுலின் குமாரத்தியாகிய மீகாள் பலகணி வழியாய்ப் பார்த்து, தாவீது ராஜா கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாகக் குதித்து, நடனம்பண்ணுகிறதைக் கண்டு, தன் இருதயத்திலே அவனை அவமதித்தாள்.

And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart.

அவர்கள் கர்த்தருடைய பெட்டியை உள்ளே கொண்டுவந்து, அதற்குத் தாவீது போட்ட கூடாரத்திற்குள் இருக்கிற அதின் ஸ்தானத்திலே அதை வைத்தபோது, தாவீது கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியிலே சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளையும் சமாதானபலிகளையும் இட்டான்.

And they brought in the ark of the LORD, and set it in his place, in the midst of the tabernacle that David had pitched for it: and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.

தாவீது சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளையும் சமாதானபலிகளையும் இட்டபின்பு, சேனைகளின் கர்த்தருடைய நாமத்தினாலே ஜனங்களை ஆசீர்வதித்து,

And as soon as David had made an end of offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD of hosts.

இஸ்ரவேலின் திரள்கூட்டமான ஸ்திரீ புருஷராகிய சகல ஜனங்களுக்கும், அவரவருக்கு ஒவ்வொரு அப்பத்தையும், ஒவ்வொரு இறைச்சித்துண்டையும், ஒவ்வொரு படி திராட்சரசத்தையும் பங்கிட்டான்; பிற்பாடு ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் அவரவர் தங்கள் வீட்டிற்குப் போய்விட்டார்கள்.

And he dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, as well to the women as men, to every one a cake of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine. So all the people departed every one to his house.

தாவீது தன் வீட்டாரை ஆசீர்வதிக்கிறதற்குத் திரும்பும்போது, சவுலின் குமாரத்தியாகிய மீகாள் தாவீதுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுவந்து, அற்பமனுஷரில் ஒருவன் தன் வஸ்திரங்களைக் கழற்றிப்போடுகிறதுபோல, இன்று தம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரருடைய பெண்களின் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாகத் தம்முடைய வஸ்திரங்களை உரிந்து போட்டிருந்த இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜா இன்று எத்தனை மகிமைப்பட்டிருந்தார் என்றாள்.

Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!

அதற்குத் தாவீது மீகாளைப் பார்த்து: உன் தகப்பனைப் பார்க்கிலும், அவருடைய எல்லா வீட்டாரைப் பார்க்கிலும், என்னை இஸ்ரவேலாகிய கர்த்தருடைய ஜனத்தின்மேல் தலைவனாகக் கட்டளையிடும்படிக்குத் தெரிந்துகொண்ட கர்த்தருடைய சமுகத்திற்கு முன்பாக ஆடிப்பாடினேன்.

And David said unto Michal, It was before the LORD, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD.

இதைப்பார்க்கிலும் இன்னும் நான் நீசனும் என் பார்வைக்கு அற்பனுமாவேன்: அப்படியே நீ சொன்ன பெண்களுக்குங்கூட மகிமையாய் விளங்குவேன் என்றான்.

And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour.

அதினால் சவுலின் குமாரத்தியாகிய மீகாளுக்கு மரணமடையும் நாள்மட்டும் பிள்ளை இல்லாதிருந்தது.

Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death.

1கொரிந்தியர் அத்தியாயம் 8

விக்கிரகங்களுக்குப் படைக்கப்பட்டவைகளைக்குறித்த விஷயத்தில், நம்மெல்லாருக்கும் அறிவு உண்டென்று நமக்குத் தெரியுமே. அறிவு இறுமாப்பை உண்டாக்கும், அன்போ பக்திவிருத்தியை உண்டாக்கும்.

Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.

ஒருவன் தான் ஏதேனும் ஒன்றை அறிந்தவனென்று எண்ணிக்கொள்வானானால், ஒன்றையும் அறியவேண்டியபிரகாரமாக அவன் இன்னும் அறியவில்லை.

And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.

தேவனில் அன்புகூருகிறவனெவனோ, அவன் தேவனால் அறியப்பட்டிருக்கிறான்.

But if any man love God, the same is known of him.

விக்கிரகங்களுக்குப் படைக்கப்பட்டவைகளைப் புசிக்கிற விஷயத்தைப்பற்றி, உலகத்திலே விக்கிரகமானது ஒன்றுமில்லையென்றும் ஒருவரேயன்றி வேறொரு தேவன் இல்லையென்றும் அறிந்திருக்கிறோம்.

As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.

வானத்திலேயும் பூமியிலேயும் தேவர்கள் என்னப்படுகிறவர்கள் உண்டு; இப்படி அநேக தேவர்களும் அநேக கர்த்தாக்களும் உண்டாயிருந்தாலும்,

For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)

பிதாவாகிய ஒரே தேவன் நமக்குண்டு, அவராலே சகலமும் உண்டாயிருக்கிறது; அவருக்கென்று நாமும் உண்டாயிருக்கிறோம். இயேசுகிறிஸ்து என்னும் ஒரே கர்த்தரும் நமக்குண்டு; அவர் மூலமாய்ச் சகலமும் உண்டாயிருக்கிறது, அவர் மூலமாய் நாமும் உண்டாயிருக்கிறோம்.

But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

ஆகிலும், இந்த அறிவு எல்லாரிடத்திலும் இல்லை. சிலர் இன்றையவரைக்கும் விக்கிரகத்தை ஒரு பொருளென்று எண்ணி, விக்கிரகத்துக்குப் படைக்கப்பட்டதைப் புசிக்கிறார்கள்; அவர்களுடைய மனச்சாட்சி பலவீனமாயிருப்பதால் அசுசிப்படுகிறது.

Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.

போஜனமானது நம்மை தேவனுக்கு உகந்தவர்களாக்கமாட்டாது; என்னத்தினாலெனில், புசிப்பதினால் நமக்கு ஒரு மேன்மையுமில்லை, புசியாதிருப்பதினால் நமக்கு ஒரு குறைவுமில்லை.

But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.

ஆகிலும் இதைக்குறித்து உங்களுக்கு உண்டாயிருக்கிற அதிகாரம் எவ்விதத்திலும் பலவீனருக்குத் தடுக்கலாகாதபடிக்குப் பாருங்கள்.

But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.

எப்படியெனில், அறிவுள்ளவனாகிய உன்னை விக்கிரகக்கோவிலிலே பந்தியிருக்க ஒருவன் கண்டால், பலவீனனாயிருக்கிற அவனுடைய மனச்சாட்சி விக்கிரகங்களுக்குப் படைக்கப்பட்டவைகளைப் புசிப்பதற்குத் துணிவுகொள்ளுமல்லவா?

For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols;

பலவீனமுள்ள சகோதரன் உன் அறிவினிமித்தம் கெட்டுப்போகலாமா? அவனுக்காகக் கிறிஸ்து மரித்தாரே.

And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?

இப்படிச் சகோதரருக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பாவஞ்செய்து, பலவீனமுள்ள அவர்களுடைய மனச்சாட்சியைப் புண்படுத்துகிறதினாலே, நீங்கள் கிறிஸ்துவுக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பாவஞ்செய்கிறீர்கள்.

But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.

ஆதலால் போஜனம் என் சகோதரனுக்கு இடறலுண்டாக்கினால், நான் என் சகோதரனுக்கு இடறலுண்டாக்காதபடிக்கு, என்றைக்கும் மாம்சம் புசியாதிருப்பேன்.

Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.

நான் அப்போஸ்தலனல்லவா? நான் சுயாதீனனல்லவா? நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவை நான் தரிசிக்கவில்லையா? கர்த்தருக்குள் நீங்கள் என் கிரியையாயிருக்கிறீர்களல்லவா?

Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord?

நான் மற்றவர்களுக்கு அப்போஸ்தலனாயிராவிட்டாலும், உங்களுக்கல்லவோ அப்போஸ்தலனாயிருக்கிறேன்; கர்த்தருக்குள் நீங்கள் என் அப்போஸ்தல ஊழியத்திற்கு முத்திரையாயிருக்கிறீர்களே.

If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord.

Mine answer to them that do examine me is this,

புசிக்கவும் குடிக்கவும் எங்களுக்கு அதிகாரமில்லையா?

Have we not power to eat and to drink?

மற்ற அப்போஸ்தலரும், கர்த்தருடைய சகோதரரும், கேபாவும் செய்கிறதுபோல, மனைவியாகிய ஒரு சகோதரியைக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு திரிய எங்களுக்கும் அதிகாரமில்லையா?

Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?

அல்லது, கைத்தொழில் செய்யாதிருக்கிறதற்கு எனக்கும் பர்னபாவுக்கும்மாத்திரந்தானா அதிகாரமில்லை?

Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working?

எவன் தன் சொந்தப்பணத்தைச் செலவழித்து, தண்டிலே சேவகம்பண்ணுவான்? எவன் திராட்சத்தோட்டத்தை உண்டாக்கி, அதின் கனியில் புசியாதிருப்பான்? எவன் மந்தையை மேய்த்து, அதின் பாலைச் சாப்பிடாதிருப்பான்?

Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock?

இவைகளை மனுஷர் வழக்கத்தின்படி சொல்லுகிறேனோ? நியாயப்பிரமாணமும் இவைகளைச் சொல்லுகிறதில்லையா?

Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also?

போரடிக்கிற மாட்டை வாய்க்கட்டாயாக என்று மோசேயின் பிரமாணத்திலே எழுதியிருக்கிறதே. தேவன் மாடுகளுக்காகவே கவலையாயிருக்கிறாரோ?

For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen?

நமக்காகத்தான் இதைச் சொல்லுகிறாரோ? உழுகிறவன் நம்பிக்கையோடே உழவும், போரடிக்கிறவன் தான் நம்புகிறதில் பங்கடைவேன் என்கிற நம்பிக்கையோடே போரடிக்கவும் வேண்டியதே, ஆகையால், அது நமக்காகவே எழுதியிருக்கிறது.

Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope.

நாங்கள் உங்களுக்கு ஞானநன்மைகளை விதைத்திருக்க, உங்கள் சரீரநன்மைகளை அறுத்தால் அது பெரிய காரியமா?

If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?

மற்றவர்கள் உங்களிடத்திலே இந்த அதிகாரத்தைச் செலுத்தினால், அவர்களிலும் நாங்கள் அதிகமாய்ச் செலுத்தலாமல்லவா? அப்படியிருந்தும், கிறிஸ்துவின் சுவிசேஷத்திற்கு யாதொரு தடையும் உண்டாகாதபடிக்கு, நாங்கள் இந்த அதிகாரத்தைச் செலுத்தாமல் எல்லாப்பாடும்படுகிறோம்.

If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ.

ஆசாரிய ஊழியஞ்செய்கிறவர்கள் தேவாலயத்திற்குரியவைகளில் புசிக்கிறார்களென்றும், பலிபீடத்தை அடுத்துப் பணிவிடை செய்கிறவர்களுக்குப் பலிபீடத்திலுள்ளவைகளில் பங்கு உண்டென்றும் அறியீர்களா?

Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar?

அந்தப்படியே சுவிசேஷத்தை அறிவிக்கிறவர்களுக்குச் சுவிசேஷத்தினாலே பிழைப்பு உண்டாகவேண்டுமென்று கர்த்தரும் கட்டளையிட்டிருக்கிறார்.

Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.

அப்படியிருந்தும், நான் இவைகளில் ஒன்றையும் அநுபவிக்கவில்லை; இப்படி எனக்கு நடக்கவேண்டுமென்று இவைகளை நான் எழுதுகிறதுமில்லை. என் மேன்மைபாராட்டலை ஒருவன் அவத்தமாக்குகிறதைப்பார்க்கிலும் சாகிறது எனக்கு நலமாயிருக்கும்.

But I have used none of these things: neither have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for it were better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying void.

சுவிசேஷத்தை நான் பிரசங்கித்து வந்தும், மேன்மைப்பாராட்ட எனக்கு இடமில்லை; அது என்மேல் விழுந்த கடமையாயிருக்கிறது; சுவிசேஷத்தை நான் பிரசங்கியாதிருந்தால், எனக்கு ஐயோ.

For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!

நான் உற்சாகமாய் அப்படிச் செய்தால் எனக்குப் பலன் உண்டு; உற்சாகமில்லாதவனாய்ச் செய்தாலும், உக்கிராண உத்தியோகம் எனக்கு ஒப்புவிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறதே.

For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.

ஆதலால் எனக்குப் பலன் என்ன? நான் சுவிசேஷத்தைப் பிரசங்கிக்கையில் அதைப்பற்றி எனக்கு உண்டாயிருக்கிற அதிகாரத்தை முற்றிலும் செலுத்தாமல், கிறிஸ்துவின் சுவிசேஷத்தைச் செலவில்லாமல் ஸ்தாபிப்பதே எனக்குப் பலன்.

What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.

நான் ஒருவருக்கும் அடிமைப்படாதவனாயிருந்தும், நான் அதிக ஜனங்களை ஆதாயப்படுத்திக்கொள்ளும்படிக்கு, என்னைத்தானே எல்லாருக்கும் அடிமையாக்கினேன்.

For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.

யூதரை ஆதாயப்படுத்திக்கொள்ளும்படிக்கு யூதருக்கு யூதனைப்போலவும், நியாயப்பிரமாணத்துக்குக் கீழ்ப்பட்டவர்களை ஆதாயப்படுத்திக்கொள்ளும்படிக்கு நியாயப்பிரமாணத்துக்குக் கீழ்ப்பட்டவனைப் போலவுமானேன்.

And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;

நியாயப்பிரமாணமில்லாதவர்களை ஆதாயப்படுத்திக்கொள்ளும்படிக்கு அவர்களுக்கு நியாயப்பிரமாணம் இல்லாதவனைப்போலவுமானேன். அப்படியிருந்தும், நான் தேவனுக்குமுன்பாக நியாயப்பிரமாணமில்லாதவனாயிராமல், கிறிஸ்துவின் பிரமாணத்துக்குள்ளானவனாயிருக்கிறேன்.

To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.

பலவீனரை ஆதாயப்படுத்திக்கொள்ளும்படிக்குப் பலவீனருக்குப் பலவீனனைப்போலானேன்; எப்படியாகிலும் சிலரை இரட்சிக்கும்படிக்கு நான் எல்லாருக்கும் எல்லாமானேன்.

To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.

சுவிசேஷத்தில் நான் உடன்பங்காளியாகும்படிக்கு, அதினிமித்தமே இப்படிச் செய்கிறேன்.

And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.

பந்தயச் சாலையில் ஓடுகிறவர்களெல்லாரும் ஓடுவார்கள்; ஆகிலும், ஒருவனே பந்தயத்தைப் பெறுவானென்று அறியீர்களா? நீங்கள் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளத்தக்கதாக ஓடுங்கள்.

Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.

பந்தயத்திற்குப் போராடுகிற யாவரும் எல்லாவற்றிலேயும் இச்சையடக்கமாயிருப்பார்கள். அவர்கள் அழிவுள்ள கிரீடத்தைப் பெறும்படிக்கு அப்படிச் செய்கிறார்கள், நாமோ அழிவில்லாத கிரீடத்தைப் பெறும்படிக்கு அப்படிச் செய்கிறோம்.

And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

ஆதலால் நான் நிச்சயமில்லாதவனாக ஓடேன்; ஆகாயத்தை அடிக்கிறவனாகச் சிலம்பம்பண்ணேன்.

I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:

மற்றவர்களுக்குப் பிரசங்கம்பண்ணுகிற நான்தானே ஆகாதவனாய்ப் போகாதபடிக்கு, என் சரீரத்தை ஒடுக்கிக் கீழ்ப்படுத்துகிறேன்.

But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
