அநேகநாள் சென்று, மூன்றாம் வருஷமாகையில், கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தை எலியாவுக்கு உண்டாகி: நீ போய் ஆகாபுக்கு உன்னைக் காண்பி; நான் தேசத்தின்மேல் மழையைக் கட்டளையிடுவேன் என்றார்.

And it came to pass after many days, that the word of the LORD came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, shew thyself unto Ahab; and I will send rain upon the earth.

அப்பொழுது எலியா ஆகாபுக்குத் தன்னைக் காண்பிக்கப்போனான்; பஞ்சமோவெனில் சமாரியாவிலே கொடிதாயிருந்தது.

And Elijah went to shew himself unto Ahab. And there was a sore famine in Samaria.

ஆனபடியால் ஆகாப் அரமனை விசாரிப்புக்காரனாகிய ஒபதியாவை அழைப்பித்தான்; ஒபதியா கர்த்தருக்கு மிகவும் பயந்து நடக்கிறவனாயிருந்தான்.

And Ahab called Obadiah, which was the governor of his house. (Now Obadiah feared the LORD greatly:

யேசபேல் கர்த்தரின் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளைச் சங்கரிக்கிறபோது, ஒபதியா நூறு தீர்க்கதரிசிகளைச் சேர்த்து, அவர்களைக் கெபிக்கு ஐம்பது ஐம்பது பேராக ஒளித்துவைத்து, அவர்களுக்கு அப்பமும் தண்ணீரும் கொடுத்து, அவர்களைப் பராமரித்து வந்தான்.

For it was so, when Jezebel cut off the prophets of the LORD, that Obadiah took an hundred prophets, and hid them by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water.)

ஆகாப் ஒபதியாவைப் பார்த்து: நீ தேசத்திலிருக்கிற எல்லா நீரூற்றுகளிடத்திலும், எல்லா ஆறுகளிடத்திலும் போ; நாம் சகல மிருகஜீவன்களையும் சாகக்கொடாமல், குதிரைகளையும் கோவேறு கழுதைகளையுமாவது உயிரோடே காப்பாற்றும்படிக்கு நமக்குப் புல் அகப்படுமா என்று பார் என்றான்.

And Ahab said unto Obadiah, Go into the land, unto all fountains of water, and unto all brooks: peradventure we may find grass to save the horses and mules alive, that we lose not all the beasts.

அப்படியே தேசத்தைச் சுற்றிப்பார்க்கும்படி, அதைப் பகுத்துக்கொண்டு, ஆகாப் ஒரு வழியாயும், ஒபதியா வேறொரு வழியாயும் போனார்கள்.

So they divided the land between them to pass throughout it: Ahab went one way by himself, and Obadiah went another way by himself.

ஒபதியா வழியில் போகும்போது, எலியா அவனுக்கு எதிர்ப்பட்டான்; அவன் இவனை இன்னான் என்று அறிந்து, முகங்குப்புற விழுந்து, நீர் என் ஆண்டவனாகிய எலியா அல்லவா என்று கேட்டதற்கு;

And as Obadiah was in the way, behold, Elijah met him: and he knew him, and fell on his face, and said, Art thou that my lord Elijah?

And he answered him, I am: go, tell thy lord, Behold, Elijah is here.

And he said, What have I sinned, that thou wouldest deliver thy servant into the hand of Ahab, to slay me?

As the LORD thy God liveth, there is no nation or kingdom, whither my lord hath not sent to seek thee: and when they said, He is not there; he took an oath of the kingdom and nation, that they found thee not.

இப்போதும் நீ போய், உன் ஆண்டவனுக்கு, இதோ, எலியா வந்திருக்கிறான் என்று சொல் என்று நீர் சொல்லுகிறீரே.

And now thou sayest, Go, tell thy lord, Behold, Elijah is here.

And it shall come to pass, as soon as I am gone from thee, that the Spirit of the LORD shall carry thee whither I know not; and so when I come and tell Ahab, and he cannot find thee, he shall slay me: but I thy servant fear the LORD from my youth.

யேசபேல் கர்த்தரின் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளைக் கொன்றுபோடுகிறபோது, நான் கர்த்தருடைய தீர்க்கதரிசிகளில் நூறு பேரை ஒவ்வொரு கெபியிலே ஐம்பது ஐம்பது பேராக ஒளித்துவைத்து, அவர்களுக்கு அப்பமும் தண்ணீரும் கொடுத்து, பராமரித்துவந்த என்னுடைய செய்கை என் ஆண்டவனுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்படவில்லையோ?

Was it not told my lord what I did when Jezebel slew the prophets of the LORD, how I hid an hundred men of the LORD'S prophets by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water?

And now thou sayest, Go, tell thy lord, Behold, Elijah is here: and he shall slay me.

And Elijah said, As the LORD of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, I will surely shew myself unto him to day.

அப்பொழுது ஒபதியா போய், ஆகாபைச் சந்தித்து அவனுக்கு அதை அறிவித்தவுடனே, ஆகாப் எலியாவைச் சந்திக்கப்போனான்.

So Obadiah went to meet Ahab, and told him: and Ahab went to meet Elijah.

ஆகாப் எலியாவைக் கண்டபோது, ஆகாப் அவனை நோக்கி: இஸ்ரவேலைக் கலங்கப்பண்ணுகிறவன் நீயல்லவா என்றான்.

And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel?

அதற்கு அவன்: இஸ்ரவேலைக் கலங்கப்பண்ணுகிறவன் நான் அல்ல; கர்த்தரின் கட்டளைகளை விட்டு பாகால்களைப் பின்பற்றினதினால் நீரும் உம்முடைய தகப்பன் வீட்டாருமே இஸ்ரவேலைக் கலங்கப்பண்ணுகிறவர்கள்.

And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father's house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the LORD, and thou hast followed Baalim.

Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel's table.

அப்படியே ஆகாப்: இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் எல்லாரிடத்திலும் ஆட்களை அனுப்பி, கர்மேல் பர்வதத்திலே அந்தத் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளைக் கூடிவரும்படி செய்தான்.

So Ahab sent unto all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together unto mount Carmel.

அப்பொழுது எலியா சகல ஜனத்தண்டைக்கும் வந்து: நீங்கள் எந்தமட்டும் இரண்டு நினைவுகளால் குந்திக்குந்தி நடப்பீர்கள்; கர்த்தர் தெய்வமானால் அவரைப் பின்பற்றுங்கள்; பாகால் தெய்வமானால் அவனைப் பின்பற்றுங்கள் என்றான், ஜனங்கள் பிரதியுத்தரமாக அவனுக்கு ஒன்றும் சொல்லவில்லை.

And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

அப்பொழுது எலியா ஜனங்களை நோக்கி: கர்த்தரின் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளில் மீந்திருக்கிறவன் நான் ஒருவன்; பாகாலின் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளோ நானூற்றைம்பதுபேர்.

Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the LORD; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men.

Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under:

And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the LORD: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken.

அப்பொழுது எலியா பாகாலின் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் அநேகரானதால் நீங்களே முந்தி ஒரு காளையைத் தெரிந்துகொண்டு அதை ஆயத்தம்பண்ணி, நெருப்புப்போடாமல் உங்கள் தேவனுடைய நாமத்தைச் சொல்லிக் கூப்பிடுங்கள் என்றான்.

And Elijah said unto the prophets of Baal, Choose you one bullock for yourselves, and dress it first; for ye are many; and call on the name of your gods, but put no fire under.

And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made.

And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.

அவர்கள் உரத்தசத்தமாய்க் கூப்பிட்டு, தங்கள் வழக்கத்தின்படியே இரத்தம் தங்கள்மேல் வடியுமட்டும் கத்திகளாலும் ஈட்டிகளாலும் தங்களைக் கீறிக்கொண்டார்கள்.

And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them.

And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded.

And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the LORD that was broken down.

And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the LORD came, saying, Israel shall be thy name:

அந்தக் கற்களாலே கர்த்தருடைய நாமத்திற்கென்று ஒரு பலிபீடத்தைக் கட்டி, பலிபீடத்தைச் சுற்றிலும் தானியம் அளக்கிற இரண்டுபடி விதை விதைக்கத்தக்க இடமான ஒரு வாய்க்காலை உண்டாக்கி,

And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the LORD: and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed.

விறகுகளை அடுக்கி, ஒரு காளையைச் சந்துசந்தாகத் துண்டித்து விறகுகளின்மேல் வைத்தான்.

And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood.

And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time.

And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water.

அந்திப்பலி செலுத்தும் நேரத்திலே, தீர்க்கதரிசியாகிய எலியா வந்து; ஆபிரகாமுக்கும் ஈசாக்குக்கும் யாக்கோபுக்கும் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, இஸ்ரவேலிலே நீர் தேவன் என்றும், நான் உம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரன் என்றும், நான் இந்தக் காரியங்களையெல்லாம் உம்முடைய வார்த்தையின்படி செய்தேன் என்றும் இன்றைக்கு விளங்கப்பண்ணும்.

And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.

கர்த்தாவே, நீர் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் என்றும், தேவரீர் தங்கள் இருதயத்தை மறுபடியும் திருப்பினீர் என்றும் இந்த ஜனங்கள் அறியும்படிக்கு, என்னைக் கேட்டருளும், என்னைக் கேட்டருளும் என்றான்.

Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.

அப்பொழுது: கர்த்தரிடத்தில் இருந்து அக்கினி இறங்கி, அந்தச் சர்வாங்க தகனபலியையும், விறகுகளையும், கற்களையும், மண்ணையும் பட்சித்து, வாய்க்காலிலிருந்த தண்ணீரையும் நக்கிப்போட்டது.

Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.

ஜனங்களெல்லாரும் இதைக் கண்டபோது, முகங்குப்புற விழுந்து: கர்த்தரே தெய்வம், கர்த்தரே தெய்வம் என்றார்கள்.

And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The LORD, he is the God; the LORD, he is the God.

And Elijah said unto them, Take the prophets of Baal; let not one of them escape. And they took them: and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and slew them there.

And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.

So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,

And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.

ஏழாந்தரம் இவன்: இதோ, சமுத்திரத்திலிருந்து ஒரு மனுஷனுடைய உள்ளங்கை அத்தனைச் சிறிய மேகம் எழும்புகிறது என்றான்; அப்பொழுது அவன் நீ போய், ஆகாபை நோக்கி: மழை உம்மைத் தடைசெய்யாதபடிக்கு இரதத்தைப் பூட்டி, போய்விடும் என்று சொல் என்றான்.

And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.

அதற்குள்ளாக வானம் மேகங்களினாலும் காற்றினாலும் கறுத்து பெருமழை உண்டாயிற்று; ஆகாப் இரதத்தில் ஏறி யெஸ்ரயேலுக்குப் போனான்.

And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.

கர்த்தருடைய கை எலியாவின்மேல் இருந்ததினால், அவன் தன் அரையைக் கட்டிக்கொண்டு, யெஸ்ரயேலுக்கு வருமட்டாக ஆகாபுக்கு முன் ஓடினான்.

And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.

தேவனுடைய சித்தத்தினாலே இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் அப்போஸ்தலனாகிய பவுலும், சகோதரனாகிய தீமோத்தேயும்,

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother,

கொலோசே பட்டணத்தில் கிறிஸ்துவுக்குள் பரிசுத்தவான்களும் விசுவாசிகளுமாயிருக்கிற சகோதரர்களுக்கு எழுதுகிறதாவது: நம்முடைய பிதாவாகிய தேவனாலும் கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவினாலும் உங்களுக்குக் கிருபையும் சமாதானமும் உண்டாவதாக.

To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவின்மேலுள்ள உங்கள் விசுவாசத்தையும், பரிசுத்தவான்களெல்லார்மேலுமுள்ள உங்கள் அன்பையுங்குறித்து நாங்கள் கேள்விப்பட்டு,

We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,

Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,

நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் பிதாவாகிய தேவனுக்கு ஸ்தோத்திரஞ்செலுத்தி, எப்பொழுதும் உங்களுக்காக வேண்டுதல்செய்கிறோம்.

For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;

அந்த நம்பிக்கையைக்குறித்து, நீங்கள் முன்னமே சத்தியவசனமாகிய சுவிசேஷத்தினாலே கேள்விப்பட்டீர்கள்; அந்தச் சுவிசேஷம் உலகமெங்கும்பரம்பிப் பலன்தருகிறதுபோல, உங்களிடத்திலும் வந்து, நீங்கள் அதைக் கேட்டு, தேவகிருபையைச் சத்தியத்தின்படி அறிந்துகொண்ட நாள்முதல், அது உங்களுக்குள்ளும் பலன்தருகிறதாயிருக்கிறது;

Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:

அதை எங்களுக்குப் பிரியமான உடன்வேலையாளும், உங்களுக்காகக் கிறிஸ்துவின் உண்மையான ஊழியக்காரனுமாயிருக்கிற எப்பாப்பிராவினிடத்தில் நீங்கள் கற்றறிந்திருக்கிறீர்கள்;

As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ;

ஆவிக்குள்ளான உங்கள் அன்பையும் அவனே எங்களுக்குத் தெரியப்படுத்தினான்.

Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.

இதினிமித்தம், நாங்கள் அதைக்கேட்ட நாள்முதல் உங்களுக்காக இடைவிடாமல் ஜெபம்பண்ணுகிறோம்; நீங்கள் எல்லா ஞானத்தோடும், ஆவிக்குரிய விவேகத்தோடும் அவருடைய சித்தத்தை அறிகிற அறிவினாலே நிரப்பப்படவும்,

For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

சகலவித நற்கிரியைகளுமாகிய கனிகளைத் தந்து, தேவனை அறிகிற அறிவில் விருத்தியடைந்து, கர்த்தருக்குப் பிரியமுண்டாக அவருக்குப் பாத்திரராய் நடந்துகொள்ளவும்,

That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

சந்தோஷத்தோடே கூடிய எல்லாப்பொறுமையும் நீடியசாந்தமும் உண்டாவதற்கு மகிமையான அவருடைய வல்லமையின்படி, எல்லா வல்லமையாலும் பலப்படுத்தப்படவும், உங்களுக்காக வேண்டுதல் செய்கிறோம்.

Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;

ஒளியிலுள்ள பரிசுத்தவான்களுடைய சுதந்தரத்தில் பங்கடைவதற்கு, நம்மைத் தகுதியுள்ளவர்களாக்கினவரும்,

Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

இருளின் அதிகாரத்தினின்று நம்மை விடுதலையாக்கி, தமது அன்பின் குமாரனுடைய ராஜ்யத்திற்கு உட்படுத்தினவருமாயிருக்கிற பிதாவை ஸ்தோத்திரிக்கிறோம்.

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

(குமாரனாகிய) அவருக்குள், அவருடைய இரத்தத்தினாலே, பாவமன்னிப்பாகிய மீட்பு நமக்கு உண்டாயிருக்கிறது.

In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

அவர் அதரிசனமான தேவனுடைய தற்சுரூபமும், சர்வசிருஷ்டிக்கும் முந்தினபேறுமானவர்.

Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

ஏனென்றால் அவருக்குள் சகலமும் சிருஷ்டிக்கப்பட்டது; பரலோகத்திலுள்ளவைகளும் பூலோகத்திலுள்ளவைகளுமாகிய காணப்படுகிறவைகளும் காணப்படாதவைகளுமான சகல வஸ்துக்களும், சிங்காசனங்களானாலும், கர்த்தத்துவங்களானாலும், துரைத்தனங்களானாலும், அதிகாரங்களானாலும், சகலமும் அவரைக்கொண்டும் அவருக்கென்றும் சிருஷ்டிக்கப்பட்டது.

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

அவர் எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் முந்தினவர், எல்லாம் அவருக்குள் நிலைநிற்கிறது.

And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

அவரே சபையாகிய சரீரத்துக்குத் தலையானவர்; எல்லாவற்றிலும் முதல்வராயிருக்கும்படி, அவரே ஆதியும் மரித்தோரிலிருந்து எழுந்த முதற்பேறுமானவர்.

And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

சகல பரிபூரணமும் அவருக்குள்ளே வாசமாயிருக்கவும்,

For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

அவர் சிலுவையில் சிந்தின இரத்தத்தினாலே சமாதானத்தை உண்டாக்கி, பூலோகத்திலுள்ளவைகள் பரலோகத்திலுள்ளவைகள் யாவையும் அவர் மூலமாய்த் தமக்கு ஒப்புரவாக்கிக்கொள்ளவும் அவருக்குப் பிரியமாயிற்று.

And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

முன்னே அந்நியராயும் துர்க்கிரியைகளினால் மனதிலே சத்துருக்களாயும் இருந்த உங்களையும் பரிசுத்தராகவும் குற்றமற்றவர்களாகவும் கண்டிக்கப்படாதவர்களாகவும் தமக்கு முன்நிறுத்தும்படியாக அவருடைய மாம்சசரீரத்தில் அடைந்த மரணத்தினாலே இப்பொழுது ஒப்புரவாக்கினார்.

And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

நீங்கள் கேட்ட சுவிசேஷத்தினால் உண்டாகும் நம்பிக்கையைவிட்டு அசையாமல், ஸ்திரமாயும் உறுதியாயும் விசுவாசத்திலே நிலைத்திருப்பீர்களானால் அப்படியாகும்.

In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

அந்தச் சுவிசேஷம் வானத்தின் கீழிருக்கிற சகல சிருஷ்டிகளுக்கும் பிரசங்கிக்கப்பட்டுவருகிறது; அதற்கென்றே பவுலாகிய நான் ஊழியக்காரனானேன்.

If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

இப்பொழுது நான் உங்கள்நிமித்தம் அநுபவிக்கிற பாடுகளில் சந்தோஷமடைந்து, கிறிஸ்துவினுடைய உபத்திரவங்களில் குறைவானதை அவருடைய சரீரமாகிய சபைக்காக, என் மாம்சத்திலே நிறைவேற்றுகிறேன்.

Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:

ஆதிகாலங்களுக்கும் தலைமுறை தலைமுறைகளுக்கும் மறைவாயிருந்து, இப்பொழுது அவருடைய பரிசுத்தவான்களுக்கு வெளியாக்கப்பட்ட இரகசியமாகிய தேவவசனத்தைப் பூரணமாய்த் தெரியப்படுத்துகிறதற்கு,

Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;

உங்கள்பொருட்டு தேவனால் எனக்கு அளிக்கப்பட்ட உத்தியோகத்தின்படியே நான் அந்தச் சபைக்கு ஊழியக்காரனானேன்.

Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

புறஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே விளங்கிய இந்த இரகசியத்திலுள்ள மகிமையின் ஐசுவரியம் இன்னதென்று, தேவன் தம்முடைய பரிசுத்தவான்களுக்குத் தெரியப்படுத்தச் சித்தமானார்; கிறிஸ்துவானவர் மகிமையின் நம்பிக்கையாக உங்களுக்குள் இருப்பதே அந்த இரகசியம்.

To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

எந்த மனுஷனையும் கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவுக்குள் தேறினவனாக நிறுத்தும்படிக்கு, அவரையே நாங்கள் அறிவித்து, எந்த மனுஷனுக்கும் புத்திசொல்லி, எந்த மனுஷனுக்கும் எல்லா ஞானத்தோடும் உபதேசம் பண்ணுகிறோம்.

Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

அதற்காக நான் எனக்குள்ளே வல்லமையாய்க் கிரியை நடப்பிக்கிற அவருடைய பலத்தின்படி போராடிப் பிரயாசப்படுகிறேன்.

Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

கொலோசேயர் அத்தியாயம் 2

உங்களுக்காகவும் லவோதிக்கேயாவிலிருக்கிறவர்களுக்காகவும், சரீரத்தில் என் முகத்தைக் காணாதிருக்கிற மற்றெல்லாருக்காகவும் மிகுந்த போராட்டம் எனக்கு உண்டென்று நீங்கள் அறியவிரும்புகிறேன்.

For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;

அவர்களுடைய இருதயங்கள் தேற்றப்பட்டு, அவர்கள் அன்பினால் இணைக்கப்பட்டு, பிதாவாகிய தேவனுக்கும் கிறிஸ்துவுக்கும் உரிய இரகசியத்தை அறிந்துகொள்ளுகிற உணர்வின் பூரண நிச்சயத்தினுடைய எல்லா ஐசுவரியத்திற்கும் உரியவர்களாகவேண்டுமென்றே இப்படி விரும்புகிறேன்.

That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

அவருக்குள் ஞானம் அறிவு என்பவைகளாகிய பொக்கிஷங்களெல்லாம் அடங்கியிருக்கிறது.

In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

ஒருவனும் நயவசனிப்பினாலே உங்களை வஞ்சியாதபடிக்கு இதைச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.

சரீரத்தின்படி நான் தூரமாயிருந்தும், ஆவியின்படி உங்களுடனேகூட இருந்து, உங்கள் ஒழுங்கையும், கிறிஸ்துவின்மேலுள்ள உங்கள் விசுவாசத்தின் உறுதியையும் பார்த்துச் சந்தோஷப்படுகிறேன்.

For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.

ஆகையால், நீங்கள் கர்த்தராகிய கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டபடியே, அவருக்குள் வேர்கொண்டவர்களாகவும், அவர்மேல் கட்டப்பட்டவர்களாகவும், அவருக்குள் நடந்துகொண்டு,

As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:

நீங்கள் போதிக்கப்பட்டபடியே, விசுவாசத்தில் உறுதிப்பட்டு, ஸ்தோத்திரத்தோடே அதிலே பெருகுவீர்களாக.

Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

லௌகிக ஞானத்தினாலும், மாயமான தந்திரத்தினாலும், ஒருவனும் உங்களைக் கொள்ளைகொண்டு போகாதபடிக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்; அது மனுஷர்களின் பாரம்பரிய நியாயத்தையும் உலகவழிபாடுகளையும் பற்றினதேயல்லாமல் கிறிஸ்துவைப்பற்றினதல்ல.

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

ஏனென்றால், தேவத்துவத்தின் பரிபூரணமெல்லாம் சரீரப்பிரகாரமாக அவருக்குள் வாசமாயிருக்கிறது.

For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

மேலும் சகல துரைத்தனங்களுக்கும் அதிகாரத்துக்கும் தலைவராயிருக்கிற அவருக்குள் நீங்கள் பரிபூரணமுள்ளவர்களாயிருக்கிறீர்கள்.

And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

அல்லாமலும், நீங்கள் கிறிஸ்துவைப்பற்றும் விருத்தசேதனத்தினாலே மாம்சத்துக்குரிய பாவசரீரத்தைக் களைந்துவிட்டதினால், கையால் செய்யப்படாத விருத்தசேதனத்தை அவருக்குள் பெற்றீர்கள்.

In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

ஞானஸ்நானத்திலே அவரோடேகூட அடக்கம்பண்ணப்பட்டவர்களாகவும், அதிலே அவரை மரித்தோரிலிருந்தெழுப்பின தேவனுடைய செயலின் மேலுள்ள விசுவாசத்தினாலே அவரோடகூட எழுந்தவர்களாகவும் இருக்கிறீர்கள்.

Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

உங்கள் பாவங்களினாலேயும், உங்கள் மாம்ச விருத்தசேதனமில்லாமையினாலேயும் மரித்தவர்களாயிருந்த உங்களையும் அவரோடேகூட உயிர்ப்பித்து, அக்கிரமங்களெல்லாவற்றையும் உங்களுக்கு மன்னித்து;

And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

நமக்கு எதிரிடையாகவும் கட்டளைகளால் நமக்கு விரோதமாகவும் இருந்த கையெழுத்தைக் குலைத்து, அதை நடுவிலிராதபடிக்கு எடுத்து, சிலுவையின்மேல் ஆணியடித்து;

Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

துரைத்தனங்களையும் அதிகாரங்களையும் உரிந்துகொண்டு, வெளியரங்கமான கோலமாக்கி, அவைகளின்மேல் சிலுவையிலே வெற்றிசிறந்தார்.

And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

ஆகையால், போஜனத்தையும் பானத்தையும்குறித்தாவது, பண்டிகை நாளையும் மாதப்பிறப்பையும் ஓய்வுநாட்களையுங்குறித்தாவது, ஒருவனும் உங்களைக் குற்றப்படுத்தாதிருப்பானாக.

Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

அவைகள் வருங்காரியங்களுக்கு நிழலாயிருக்கிறது; அவைகளின் பொருள் கிறிஸ்துவைப்பற்றினது.

Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

கணுக்களாலும் கட்டுகளாலும் உதவிபெற்று இணைக்கப்பட்டு, தேவவளர்ச்சியாய் வளர்ந்தேறுகிற சரீரமுழுவதையும் ஆதரிக்கிற தலையைப்பற்றிக்கொள்ளாமல்,

Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

மாயமான தாழ்மையிலும், தேவதூதர்களுக்குச் செய்யும் ஆராதனையிலும் விருப்பமுற்று, காணாதவைகளிலே துணிவாய் நுழைந்து, தன் மாம்சசிந்தையினாலே வீணாய் இறுமாப்புக்கொண்டிருக்கிற எவனும் உங்கள் பந்தயப்பொருளை நீங்கள் இழந்துபோகும்படி உங்களை வஞ்சியாதிருக்கப்பாருங்கள்.

And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.

நீங்கள் கிறிஸ்துவுடனேகூட உலகத்தின் வழிபாடுகளுக்கு மரித்ததுண்டானால், இன்னும் உலக வழக்கத்தின்படி பிழைக்கிறவர்கள்போல,

Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,

மனுஷருடைய கற்பனைகளின்படியும் போதனைகளின்படியும் நடந்து: தொடாதே, ருசிபாராதே, தீண்டாதே என்கிற கட்டளைகளுக்கு உட்படுகிறதென்ன?

Touch not; taste not; handle not;

இவையெல்லாம் அநுபவிக்கிறதினால் அழிந்துபோகுமே.

Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?

இப்படிப்பட்ட போதனைகள் சுய இஷ்டமான ஆராதனையையும், மாயமான தாழ்மையையும், சரீர ஒடுக்கத்தையும் பற்றி ஞானமென்கிற பேர்கொண்டிருந்தாலும், இவைகள் மாம்சத்தைப் பேணுகிறதற்கே ஒழிய மற்றொன்றிற்கும் பிரயோஜனப்படாது.

Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.
