2சாமுவேல் அத்தியாயம் 23

தாவீதுடைய கடைசி வார்த்தைகள்: மேன்மையாய் உயர்த்தப்பட்டு, யாக்கோபுடைய தேவனால் அபிஷேகம் பெற்று, இஸ்ரவேலின் சங்கீதங்களை இன்பமாய்ப் பாடின ஈசாயின் குமாரனாகிய தாவீது என்னும் புருஷன் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால்;

Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,

கர்த்தருடைய ஆவியானவர் என்னைக் கொண்டு பேசினார்; அவருடைய வசனம் என்னுடைய நாவில் இருந்தது.

The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.

இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனும் இஸ்ரவேலின் கன்மலையுமானவர் எனக்குச் சொல்லி உரைத்ததாவது: நீதிபரராய் மனுஷரை ஆண்டு, தெய்வபயமாய்த் துரைத்தனம்பண்ணுகிறவர் இருப்பார்.

The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.

அவர் காலையில் மந்தாரமில்லாமல் உதித்து, மழைக்குப்பிற்பாடு தன் காந்தியினால் புல்லைப் பூமியிலிருந்து முளைக்கப்பண்ணுகிற சூரியனுடைய விடியற்கால வெளிச்சத்தைப்போல இருப்பார் என்றார்.

And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.

என்னுடைய வீடு தேவனிடத்தில் இப்படியிராதோ? சகலமும் திட்டம்பண்ணப்பட்டிருக்கிற நிச்சயமான நித்திய உடன்படிக்கையை என்னுடன் அவர் செய்திருக்கிறார்; ஆதலால் என்னுடைய எல்லா இரட்சிப்பும் எல்லா வாஞ்சையும் வளர்ந்தோங்கச் செய்யாரோ?

Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow.

பேலியாளின் மக்கள் அனைவருமோ, கையினால் பிடிக்கப்படக்கூடாததாய் எறிந்து போடப்படவேண்டிய முள்ளுக்குச் சமானமானவர்கள்.

But the sons of Belial shall be all of them as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with hands:

அவைகளை ஒருவன் தொடப்போனால், இருப்பாயுதத்தையும் ஈட்டித்தாங்கையும் கெட்டியாய்ப் பிடித்துக்கொள்ளவேண்டும்; அவைகள் இருக்கிற இடத்தில்தானே அக்கினியினால் முற்றும் சுட்டெரிக்கப்படும் என்றான்.

But the man that shall touch them must be fenced with iron and the staff of a spear; and they shall be utterly burned with fire in the same place.

தாவீதுக்கு இருந்த பராக்கிரமசாலிகளின் நாமங்களாவன: தக்கெமோனியின் குமாரனாகிய யோசேப்பாசெபெத் என்பவன் சேர்வைக்காரரின் தலைவன்; இவன் எண்ணூறுபேர்களின்மேல் விழுந்து, அவர்களை ஒருமிக்க வெட்டிப்போட்ட அதீனோஏஸ்னி ஊரானானவன்.

These be the names of the mighty men whom David had: The Tachmonite that sat in the seat, chief among the captains; the same was Adino the Eznite: he lift up his spear against eight hundred, whom he slew at one time.

இவனுக்கு இரண்டாவது, அகோயின் குமாரனாகிய தோதோவின் மகன் எலெயாசார் என்பவன்; இவன் பெலிஸ்தர் யுத்தத்திற்குக் கூடின ஸ்தலத்திலே இஸ்ரவேல் மனுஷர் போகையில், தாவீதோடே இருந்து பெலிஸ்தரை நிந்தித்த மூன்று பராக்கிரமசாலிகளில் ஒருவனாயிருந்தான்.

And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away:

இவன் எழும்பித் தன் கைசலித்து, தன் கை பட்டயத்தோடு ஒட்டிக்கொள்ளுமட்டும் பெலிஸ்தரை வெட்டினான்; அன்றையதினம் கர்த்தர் பெரிய இரட்சிப்பை நடப்பித்தார்; ஜனங்கள் கொள்ளையிட மாத்திரம் அவனைப் பின்சென்றார்கள்.

He arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword: and the LORD wrought a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil.

இவனுக்கு மூன்றாவது, ஆகேயின் குமாரனாகிய சம்மா என்னும் ஆராரியன்; சிறுபயறு நிறைந்த வயலிருந்த இடத்திலே பெலிஸ்தர் ஏராளமாய்க் கூடி, ஜனங்கள் பெலிஸ்தரைக் கண்டு ஓடுகிறபோது,

And after him was Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a piece of ground full of lentiles: and the people fled from the Philistines.

இவன் அந்த நிலத்தின் நடுவிலே நின்று அதைக் காப்பாற்றி, பெலிஸ்தரை மடங்கடித்துப்போட்டான்; அதனால் கர்த்தர் பெரிய இரட்சிப்பை நடப்பித்தார்.

But he stood in the midst of the ground, and defended it, and slew the Philistines: and the LORD wrought a great victory.

முப்பது தலைவருக்குள்ளே இந்த மூன்று பேரும் அறுப்பு நாளிலே அதுல்லாம் கெபியிலே தாவீதிடத்தில் போயிருந்தார்கள்; பெலிஸ்தரின் தண்டு ரெப்பாயீம் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே பாளயமிறங்கினபோது,

And three of the thirty chief went down, and came to David in the harvest time unto the cave of Adullam: and the troop of the Philistines pitched in the valley of Rephaim.

தாவீது அரணான ஒரு இடத்தில் இருந்தான்; அப்பொழுது பெலிஸ்தரின் தாணையம் பெத்லகேமிலே இருந்தது.

And David was then in an hold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Bethlehem.

தாவீது பெத்லகேமின் ஒலிமுகவாசலில் இருக்கிற கிணற்றின் தண்ணீரின் மேல் ஆவல்கொண்டு: என் தாகத்திற்குக் கொஞ்சந் தண்ணீர் கொண்டுவருகிறவன் யார் என்றான்.

And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!

அப்பொழுது இந்த மூன்று பராக்கிரமசாலிகளும் பெலிஸ்தரின் பாளயத்திலே துணிந்து புகுந்துபோய், பெத்லகேமின் ஒலிமுகவாசலில் இருக்கிற கிணற்றிலே தண்ணீர் மொண்டு, தாவீதினிடத்தில் கொண்டு வந்தார்கள்; ஆனாலும் அவன் அதைக் குடிக்க மனதில்லாமல் அதைக் கர்த்தருக்கென்று ஊற்றிப்போட்டு:

And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the LORD.

கர்த்தாவே, தங்கள் பிராணனை எண்ணாமல் போய்வந்த அந்த மனுஷரின் இரத்தத்தைக் குடிக்கும் இந்தச்செயல் எனக்குத் தூரமாயிருப்பதாக என்று சொல்லி, அதைக் குடிக்க மனதில்லாதிருந்தான்; இப்படி இந்த மூன்று பராக்கிரமசாலிகளும் செய்தார்கள்.

And he said, Be it far from me, O LORD, that I should do this: is not this the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mighty men.

யோவாபின் சகோதரனும் செருயாவின் குமாரனுமான அபிசாய் என்பவன், அந்த மூன்றுபேரில் பிரதானமானவன்; அவன் தன் ஈட்டியை ஓங்கி முந்நூறு பேரை மடங்கடித்ததினால், இந்த மூன்று பேர்களில் பேர்பெற்றவனானான்.

And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief among three. And he lifted up his spear against three hundred, and slew them, and had the name among three.

இந்த மூன்றுபேர்களில் அவன் மேன்மையுள்ளவனாயிருந்ததினாலல்லவோ, அவர்களில் தலைவனானான்; ஆனாலும் அந்த முந்தின மூன்று பேருக்கு அவன் சமமானவன் அல்ல.

Was he not most honourable of three? therefore he was their captain: howbeit he attained not unto the first three.

பராக்கிரமசாலியாகிய யோய்தாவின் குமாரனும் கப்செயேல் ஊரானுமாகிய பெனாயாவும் செய்கைகளில் வல்லவனாயிருந்தான்; அவன் மோவாப் தேசத்தின் இரண்டு வலுமையான சிங்கங்களைக் கொன்றதுமல்லாமல், உறைந்த மழை காலத்தில் அவன் இறங்கிப்போய், ஒரு கெபிக்குள் இருந்த ஒரு சிங்கத்தையும் கொன்றுபோட்டான்.

And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man, of Kabzeel, who had done many acts, he slew two lionlike men of Moab: he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow:

அவன் பயங்கர ரூபமான ஒரு எகிப்தியனையும் கொன்றுபோட்டான்; அந்த எகிப்தியன் கையில் ஒரு ஈட்டியிருக்கையில், இவன் ஒரு தடியைப்பிடித்து, அவனிடத்தில், போய், அந்த எகிப்தியன் கையிலிருந்த ஈட்டியைப் பறித்து, அவன் ஈட்டியினாலே அவனைக் கொன்றுபோட்டான்.

And he slew an Egyptian, a goodly man: and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.

இவைகளை யோய்தாவின் குமாரனாகிய பெனாயா செய்தபடியினால், மூன்று பராக்கிரமசாலிகளுக்குள்ளே பேர்பெற்றவனாயிருந்தான்.

These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had the name among three mighty men.

முப்பதுபேரிலும் இவன் மேன்மையுள்ளவன்; ஆனாலும் அந்த முந்தின மூன்று பேருக்கும் இவன் சமானமானவன் அல்ல; இவனைத் தாவீது தன் மெய்க்காவலருக்குத் தலைவனாக வைத்தான்.

He was more honourable than the thirty, but he attained not to the first three. And David set him over his guard.

யோவாபின் தம்பி ஆசகேல் மற்ற முப்பதுபேரில் ஒருவன்; அவர்கள் யாரெனில், பெத்லகேம் ஊரானாகிய தோதோவின் குமாரன் எல்க்கானான்,

Asahel the brother of Joab was one of the thirty; Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem,

ஆரோதியனாகிய சம்மா, ஆரோதியனாகிய எலிக்கா,

Shammah the Harodite, Elika the Harodite,

பல்தியனாகிய ஏலெஸ், இக்கேசின் குமாரனாகிய ஈரா என்னும் தெக்கோவியன்.

Helez the Paltite, Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite,

ஆனதோத்தியனாகிய அபியேசர், ஊசாத்தியனாகிய மெபுன்னாயி,

Abiezer the Anethothite, Mebunnai the Hushathite,

அகோகியனாகிய சல்மோன், நெத்தோபாத்தியனாகிய மகராயி,

Zalmon the Ahohite, Maharai the Netophathite,

பானாவின் குமாரனாகிய ஏலேப் என்னும் நெத்தோபாத்தியன், பென்யமீன் புத்திரரின் கிபியா ஊரானாகிய ரிபாயின் குமாரன் இத்தாயி,

Heleb the son of Baanah, a Netophathite, Ittai the son of Ribai out of Gibeah of the children of Benjamin,

பிரத்தோனியனாகிய பெனாயா, காகாஸ் நீரோடைகளின் தேசத்தானாகிய ஈத்தாயி,

Benaiah the Pirathonite, Hiddai of the brooks of Gaash,

அர்பாத்தியனாகிய அபிஅல்பொன், பருமியனாகிய அஸ்மாவேத்,

Abialbon the Arbathite, Azmaveth the Barhumite,

சால்போனியனாகிய எலியூபா, யாசேனின் குமாரரில் யோனத்தான் என்பவன்.

Eliahba the Shaalbonite, of the sons of Jashen, Jonathan,

ஆராரியனாகிய சம்மா, சாராரின் குமாரனாகிய அகியாம் என்னும் ஆராரியன்,

Shammah the Hararite, Ahiam the son of Sharar the Hararite,

மாகாத்தியனின் குமாரனாகிய அகஸ்பாயிம் மகன் எலிப்பெலேத், கீலோனியனாகிய அகித்தோப்பேலின் குமாரன் எலியாம் என்பவன்.

Eliphelet the son of Ahasbai, the son of the Maachathite, Eliam the son of Ahithophel the Gilonite,

கர்மேலியனாகிய எஸ்ராயி, அர்பியனாகிய பாராயி,

Hezrai the Carmelite, Paarai the Arbite,

சோபா ஊரானாகிய நாத்தானின் குமாரன் ஈகால், காதியனாகிய பானி,

Igal the son of Nathan of Zobah, Bani the Gadite,

அம்மோனியனாகிய சேலேக், செருயாவின் குமாரனாகிய யோவாபின் ஆயுததாரியான பெரோத்தியனாகிய நகராய்,

Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Beerothite, armourbearer to Joab the son of Zeruiah,

இத்ரியனாகிய ஈரா, இத்ரியனாகிய காரேப்,

Ira an Ithrite, Gareb an Ithrite,

ஏத்தியனாகிய உரியா என்பவர்களே; ஆக முப்பத்தேழுபேர்.

Uriah the Hittite: thirty and seven in all.

2சாமுவேல் அத்தியாயம் 24

கர்த்தருடைய கோபம் திரும்ப இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் மூண்டது. இஸ்ரவேல் யூதா என்பவர்களை இலக்கம் பார் என்று அவர்களுக்கு விரோதமாய்ச் சொல்லுகிறதற்கு தாவீது ஏவப்பட்டான்.

And again the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them to say, Go, number Israel and Judah.

அப்படியே ராஜா தன்னோடிருக்கிற சேனாபதியாகிய யோவாபைப் பார்த்து: ஜனங்களின் இலக்கத்தை நான் அறியும்படிக்கு நீ தாண்முதல் பெயெர்செபா மட்டுமுள்ள இஸ்ரவேலரின் கோத்திரமெங்கும் சுற்றித்திரிந்து ஜனங்களைத் தொகையிடுங்கள் என்றான்.

For the king said to Joab the captain of the host, which was with him, Go now through all the tribes of Israel, from Dan even to Beersheba, and number ye the people, that I may know the number of the people.

அப்பொழுது யோவாப் ராஜாவைப் பார்த்து: ராஜாவாகிய என் ஆண்டவனுடைய கண்கள் காணும்படி உம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் ஜனங்களை இப்பொழுது இருக்கிறதைப்பார்க்கிலும், நூறுமடங்கு அதிகமாய் வர்த்திக்கப்பண்ணுவாராக; ஆனாலும் என் ஆண்டவனாகிய ராஜா இந்தக் காரியத்தை விரும்புகிறது என்ன என்றான்.

And Joab said unto the king, Now the LORD thy God add unto the people, how many soever they be, an hundredfold, and that the eyes of my lord the king may see it: but why doth my lord the king delight in this thing?

ஆகிலும் யோவாபும் இராணுவத்தலைவரும் சொன்ன வார்த்தை செல்லாதபடிக்கு, ராஜாவின் வார்த்தை பலத்தது; அப்படியே இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்களைத் தொகையிட, யோவாபும் இராணுவத்தலைவரும் ராஜாவைவிட்டு புறப்பட்டுப்போய்,

Notwithstanding the king's word prevailed against Joab, and against the captains of the host. And Joab and the captains of the host went out from the presence of the king, to number the people of Israel.

யோர்தானைக் கடந்து, காத் என்னும் ஆறுகளின் நடுவே இருக்கிற பட்டணத்திற்கு வலதுபுறமான ஆரோவேரிலும் யாசேரிடத்திலும் பாளயமிறங்கி,

And they passed over Jordan, and pitched in Aroer, on the right side of the city that lieth in the midst of the river of Gad, and toward Jazer:

அங்கேயிருந்து கீலேயாத்திற்கும் தாதீம்ஒத்சிக்கும் போய், அங்கேயிருந்து தாண்யானுக்கும், சீதோனின் சுற்றுப்புறங்களுக்கும் போய்,

Then they came to Gilead, and to the land of Tahtimhodshi; and they came to Danjaan, and about to Zidon,

பிற்பாடு தீரு என்னும் கோட்டைக்கும் ஏவியர் கானானியருடைய சகல பட்டணங்களுக்கும் போய், அங்கேயிருந்து யூதாவின் தென்புறமான பெயெர்செபாவுக்குப் போய்,

And came to the strong hold of Tyre, and to all the cities of the Hivites, and of the Canaanites: and they went out to the south of Judah, even to Beersheba.

இப்படி தேசமெங்கும் சுற்றித்திரிந்து, ஒன்பது மாதமும் இருபது நாளும் ஆனபிற்பாடு எருசலேமுக்கு வந்தார்கள்.

So when they had gone through all the land, they came to Jerusalem at the end of nine months and twenty days.

யோவாப் ஜனத்தை இலக்கம் பார்த்த தொகையை ராஜாவுக்குக் கொடுத்தான்; இஸ்ரவேலிலே பட்டயம் உருவத்தக்க யுத்த சேவகர் எட்டு லட்சம்பேர் இருந்தார்கள்; யூதா மனுஷர் ஐந்து லட்சம்பேர் இருந்தார்கள்.

And Joab gave up the sum of the number of the people unto the king: and there were in Israel eight hundred thousand valiant men that drew the sword; and the men of Judah were five hundred thousand men.

இவ்விதமாய் ஜனங்களை எண்ணினபின்பு, ராஜாவின் இருதயம் அவனை வாதித்தது; அப்பொழுது தாவீது கர்த்தரை நோக்கி: நான் இப்படிச் செய்ததினாலே பெரிய பாவஞ்செய்தேன்; இப்போதும் ஆண்டவரே, உமது அடியானின் அக்கிரமத்தை நீக்கிவிடும்; நான் மகா புத்தியீனமாய்ச் செய்தேன் என்றான்.

And David's heart smote him after that he had numbered the people. And David said unto the LORD, I have sinned greatly in that I have done: and now, I beseech thee, O LORD, take away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly.

தாவீது காலமே எழுந்திருந்தபோது, தாவீதின் ஞானதிருஷ்டிக்காரனாகிய காத் என்னும் தீர்க்கதரிசிக்குக் கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தை உண்டாகிச் சொன்னது:

For when David was up in the morning, the word of the LORD came unto the prophet Gad, David's seer, saying,

நீ தாவீதினிடத்தில் போய், மூன்று காரியங்களை உனக்கு முன்பாக வைக்கிறேன்; அவைகளில் ஒரு காரியத்தைத் தெரிந்துகொள், அதை நான் உனக்குச் செய்வேன் என்று கர்த்தர் உரைக்கிறார் என்று சொல் என்றார்.

Go and say unto David, Thus saith the LORD, I offer thee three things; choose thee one of them, that I may do it unto thee.

அப்படியே காத் தாவீதினிடத்தில் வந்து, அவனை நோக்கி: உம்முடைய தேசத்திலே ஏழு வருஷம் பஞ்சம் வரவேண்டுமோ? அல்லது மூன்று மாதம் உம்முடைய சத்துருக்கள் உம்மைப் பின்தொடர, நீர் அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாக ஓடிப்போகவேண்டுமோ? அல்லது உம்முடைய தேசத்திலே மூன்று நாள் கொள்ளை நோய் உண்டாக வேண்டுமோ? இப்போதும் என்னை அனுப்பினவருக்கு நான் என்ன மறுஉத்தரவு கொண்டுபோக வேண்டும் என்பதை நீர் யோசித்துப் பாரும் என்று சொன்னான்.

So Gad came to David, and told him, and said unto him, Shall seven years of famine come unto thee in thy land? or wilt thou flee three months before thine enemies, while they pursue thee? or that there be three days' pestilence in thy land? now advise, and see what answer I shall return to him that sent me.

அப்பொழுது தாவீது காத்தை நோக்கி: கொடிய இடுக்கணில் அகப்பட்டிருக்கிறேன்; இப்போது நாம் கர்த்தருடைய கையிலே விழுவோமாக; அவருடைய இரக்கங்கள் மகா பெரியது; மனுஷர் கையிலே விழாதிருப்பேனாக என்றான்.

And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the LORD; for his mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man.

அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் இஸ்ரவேலிலே அன்று காலமேதொடங்கி குறித்தகாலம் வரைக்கும் கொள்ளை நோயை வரப்பண்ணினார்; அதினால் தாண்முதல் பெயெர்செபா மட்டுமுள்ள ஜனங்களில் எழுபதினாயிரம்பேர் செத்துப் போனார்கள்.

So the LORD sent a pestilence upon Israel from the morning even to the time appointed: and there died of the people from Dan even to Beersheba seventy thousand men.

தேவதூதன் எருசலேமை அழிக்கத் தன் கையை அதின்மேல் நீட்டினபோது, கர்த்தர் அந்தத் தீங்குக்கு மனஸ்தாபப்பட்டு, ஜனங்களைச் சங்கரிக்கிற தூதனை நோக்கி: போதும், இப்போது உன் கையை நிறுத்து என்றார்; அந்த வேளையில் கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் எபூசியனாகிய அர்வனாவின் போரடிக்கிற களத்திற்கு நேரே இருந்தான்.

And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed the people, It is enough: stay now thine hand. And the angel of the LORD was by the threshingplace of Araunah the Jebusite.

ஜனத்தை உபாதிக்கிற தூதனை தாவீது கண்டபோது, அவன் கர்த்தரை நோக்கி: இதோ, நான்தான் பாவஞ்செய்தேன்; நான்தான் அக்கிரமம் பண்ணினேன்; இந்த ஆடுகள் என்ன செய்தது? உம்முடைய கை எனக்கும் என் தகப்பன் வீட்டுக்கும் விரோதமாயிருப்பதாக என்று விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணினான்.

And David spake unto the LORD when he saw the angel that smote the people, and said, Lo, I have sinned, and I have done wickedly: but these sheep, what have they done? let thine hand, I pray thee, be against me, and against my father's house.

அன்றையதினம் காத் என்பவன் தாவீதினிடத்தில் வந்து, அவனை நோக்கி: நீர் போய், எபூசியனாகிய அர்வனாவின் களத்திலே கர்த்தருக்கு ஒரு பலிபீடத்தை உண்டாக்கும் என்றான்.

And Gad came that day to David, and said unto him, Go up, rear an altar unto the LORD in the threshingfloor of Araunah the Jebusite.

காத்துடைய வார்த்தையின்படியே தாவீது கர்த்தர் கற்பித்த பிரகாரமாகப் போனான்.

And David, according to the saying of Gad, went up as the LORD commanded.

அர்வனா ஏறிட்டுப்பார்த்து: ராஜாவும் அவனுடைய ஊழியக்காரரும் தன்னிடத்தில் வருகிறதைக்கண்டு, அர்வனா எதிர்கொண்டுபோய் தரைமட்டும் குனிந்து ராஜாவை வணங்கி,

And Araunah looked, and saw the king and his servants coming on toward him: and Araunah went out, and bowed himself before the king on his face upon the ground.

ராஜாவாகிய என் ஆண்டவன் தமது அடியானிடத்தில் வருகிற காரியம் என்ன என்று கேட்டதற்கு, தாவீது: வாதை ஜனத்தைவிட்டு நிறுத்தப்படக் கர்த்தருக்கு ஒரு பலிபீடத்தைக் கட்டும்படிக்கு இந்தக் களத்தை உன் கையிலே கொள்ளவந்தேன் என்றான்.

And Araunah said, Wherefore is my lord the king come to his servant? And David said, To buy the threshingfloor of thee, to build an altar unto the LORD, that the plague may be stayed from the people.

அர்வனா தாவீதைப் பார்த்து: ராஜாவாகிய என் ஆண்டவன் இதை வாங்கிக் கொண்டு, தம்முடைய பார்வைக்கு நலமானபடி பலியிடுவாராக; இதோ, தகனபலிக்கு மாடுகளும் விறகுக்குப் போரடிக்கிற உருளைகளும் மாடுகளின் நுகத்தடிகளும் இங்கே இருக்கிறது என்று சொல்லி,

And Araunah said unto David, Let my lord the king take and offer up what seemeth good unto him: behold, here be oxen for burnt sacrifice, and threshing instruments and other instruments of the oxen for wood.

அர்வனா ராஜயோக்கியமாய் அவை எல்லாவற்றையும் ராஜாவுக்குக் கொடுத்த பின்பு, அர்வனா ராஜாவை நோக்கி: உம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உம்மிடத்தில் கிருபையாயிருப்பாராக என்றான்.

All these things did Araunah, as a king, give unto the king. And Araunah said unto the king, The LORD thy God accept thee.

ராஜா அர்வனாவைப் பார்த்து: அப்படியல்ல; நான் இலவசமாய் வாங்கி, என் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு சர்வாங்கதகனபலிகளைச் செலுத்தாமல், அதை உன் கையிலே விலைக்கிரயமாய் வாங்குவேன் என்று சொல்லி, தாவீது அந்தக் களத்தையும் மாடுகளையும் ஐம்பது சேக்கல் நிறைவெள்ளிக்குக் கொண்டான்.

And the king said unto Araunah, Nay; but I will surely buy it of thee at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the LORD my God of that which doth cost me nothing. So David bought the threshingfloor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.

அங்கே தாவீது கர்த்தருக்கு ஒரு பலிபீடத்தைக் கட்டி, சர்வாங்கதகனபலிகளையும் சமாதானபலிகளையும் செலுத்தினான்; அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் தேசத்துக்காகச் செய்யப்பட்ட வேண்டுதலைக் கேட்டருளினார்; இஸ்ரவேலின் மேலிருந்த அந்த வாதை நிறுத்தப்பட்டது.

And David built there an altar unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the LORD was intreated for the land, and the plague was stayed from Israel.

பரிசுத்தவான்களுக்குச் செய்யவேண்டிய தர்மசகாயத்தைக்குறித்து, நான் அதிகமாக உங்களுக்கு எழுதவேண்டுவதில்லை.

For as touching the ministering to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you:

உங்கள் மனவிருப்பத்தை அறிந்திருக்கிறேன்; அகாயாவிலுள்ளவர்கள் ஒருவருஷமாக ஆயத்தமாயிருக்கிறார்களென்று, நான் மக்கெதோனியருடனே சொல்லி, உங்களைப் புகழ்ந்தேனே; உங்கள் ஜாக்கிரதை அநேகரை எழுப்பிவிட்டதுமுண்டு.

For I know the forwardness of your mind, for which I boast of you to them of Macedonia, that Achaia was ready a year ago; and your zeal hath provoked very many.

அப்படியிருந்தும், உங்களைக்குறித்து நாங்கள் சொன்ன புகழ்ச்சி இந்தக் காரியத்தில் வீணாய்ப்போகாமல், நான் சொன்னபடி நீங்கள் ஆயத்தப்பட்டவர்களாயிருப்பதற்கு, இந்தச் சகோதரரை அனுப்பினேன்.

Yet have I sent the brethren, lest our boasting of you should be in vain in this behalf; that, as I said, ye may be ready:

மக்கெதோனியர் என்னுடனேகூட வந்து, உங்களை ஆயத்தப்படாதவர்களாகக் கண்டால், இவ்வளவு நிச்சயமாய் உங்களைப் புகழ்ந்ததற்காக, நீங்கள் வெட்கப்படுவீர்களென்று நாங்கள் சொல்லாமல், நாங்களே வெட்கப்படவேண்டியதாயிருக்கும்.

Lest haply if they of Macedonia come with me, and find you unprepared, we (that we say not, ye) should be ashamed in this same confident boasting.

ஆகையால், வாக்குத்தத்தம்பண்ணப்பட்டிருக்கிற உங்கள் தானதர்மமானது லோபத்தனமாய்க் கொடுக்கப்பட்டதாயிராமல், உதாரத்துவமாய்க் கொடுக்கப்பட்டதாயிருக்கும்படியாக அதை ஆயத்தப்படுத்துகிறதற்குச் சகோதரரை ஏவி, உங்களிடத்தில் முன்னதாக அனுப்புவது எனக்கு அவசியம் என்று காணப்பட்டது.

Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren, that they would go before unto you, and make up beforehand your bounty, whereof ye had notice before, that the same might be ready, as a matter of bounty, and not as of covetousness.

பின்னும் நான் சொல்லுகிறதென்னவெனில், சிறுக விதைக்கிறவன் சிறுக அறுப்பான், பெருக விதைக்கிறவன் பெருக அறுப்பான்.

But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

அவனவன் விசனமாயுமல்ல, கட்டாயமாயுமல்ல, தன் மனதில் நியமித்தபடியே கொடுக்கக்கடவன்; உற்சாகமாய்க் கொடுக்கிறவனிடத்தில் தேவன் பிரியமாயிருக்கிறார்.

Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

மேலும், நீங்கள் எல்லாவற்றிலும் எப்பொழுதும் சம்பூரணமுடையவர்களாயும், சகலவித நற்கிரியைகளிலும் பெருகுகிறவர்களாயுமிருக்கும்படியாக, தேவன் உங்களிடத்தில் சகலவித கிருபையையும் பெருகச்செய்ய வல்லவராயிருக்கிறார்.

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

வாரியிறைத்தான், ஏழைகளுக்குக் கொடுத்தான், அவனுடைய நீதி என்றென்றைக்கும் நிற்கும் என்று எழுதியிருக்கிறபடியாகும்.

As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.

விதைக்கிறவனுக்கு விதையையும், புசிக்கிறதற்கு ஆகாரத்தையும் அளிக்கிறவர் உங்களுக்கு விதையை அளித்து, அதைப் பெருகப்பண்ணி, உங்கள் நீதியின் விளைச்சலை வர்த்திக்கச்செய்வார்.

Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)

தேவனுக்கு எங்களால் ஸ்தோத்திரமுண்டாவதற்கு ஏதுவாயிருக்கும் மிகுந்த உதாரகுணத்திலே நீங்கள் எவ்விதத்திலும் சம்பூரணமுள்ளவர்களாவீர்கள்.

Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.

இந்தத் தர்மசகாயமாகிய பணிவிடை பரிசுத்தவான்களுடைய குறைவுகளை நீக்குகிறதுமல்லாமல், அநேகர் தேவனை ஸ்தோத்திரிப்பதினாலே சம்பூரணபலனுள்ளதாயும் இருக்கும்.

For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God;

அவர்கள் இந்தத் தர்மசகாயத்தினாலாகிய நன்மையை அனுபவித்து, நீங்கள் கிறிஸ்துவின் சுவிசேஷத்தைக் கீழ்ப்படிதலோடே அறிக்கையிட்டிருக்கிறதினிமித்தமும், தங்களுக்கும் மற்ற அனைவருக்கும் நீங்கள் உதாரத்துவமாய்த் தர்மஞ்செய்கிறதினிமித்தமும், அவர்கள் தேவனை மகிமைப்படுத்தி;

Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men;

உங்களுக்காக வேண்டுதல்செய்து, தேவன் உங்களுக்கு அளித்த மிகவும் விசேஷித்த கிருபையினிமித்தம் உங்கள்மேல் வாஞ்சையாயிருக்கிறார்கள்.

And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you.

தேவன் அருளிய சொல்லிமுடியாத ஈவுக்காக அவருக்கு ஸ்தோத்திரம்.

Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.

2கொரிந்தியர் அத்தியாயம் 10

உங்களுக்கு முன்பாக இருக்கும்போது தாழ்மையாயும், தூரத்திலே இருக்கும்போது உங்கள்மேல் கண்டிப்பாயும் இருக்கிற பவுலாகிய நான் கிறிஸ்துவின் சாந்தத்தையும் தயவையும் முன்னிட்டு உங்களுக்குப் புத்திசொல்லுகிறேன்.

Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you:

எங்களை மாம்சத்தின்படி நடக்கிறவர்கள் என்று எண்ணுகிற சிலரைக்குறித்து நான் கண்டிப்பாயிருக்கவேண்டுமென்று நினைத்திருக்கிற தைரியத்தோடே, உங்கள் முன்பாக இருக்கும்போது, நான் கண்டிப்புள்ளவனாயிராதபடிக்கு நீங்கள் எச்சரிக்கையாயிருக்க உங்களை வேண்டிக்கொள்ளுகிறேன்.

But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.

நாங்கள் மாம்சத்தில் நடக்கிறவர்களாயிருந்தும், மாம்சத்தின்படி போர்செய்கிறவர்களல்ல.

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

எங்களுடைய போராயுதங்கள் மாம்சத்துக்கேற்றவைகளாயிராமல், அரண்களை நிர்மூலமாக்குகிறதற்கு தேவபலமுள்ளவைகளாயிருக்கிறது.

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

அவைகளால் நாங்கள் தர்க்கங்களையும், தேவனை அறிகிற அறிவுக்கு விரோதமாய் எழும்புகிற எல்லா மேட்டிமையையும் நிர்மூலமாக்கி, எந்த எண்ணத்தையும் கிறிஸ்துவுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியச் சிறைப்படுத்துகிறவர்களாயிருக்கிறோம்.

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

உங்கள் கீழ்ப்படிதல் நிறைவேறும்போது, எல்லாக் கீழ்ப்படியாமைக்குந்தக்க நீதியுள்ள தண்டனையைச் செலுத்த ஆயத்தமாயுமிருக்கிறோம்.

And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

வெளித்தோற்றத்தின்படி பார்க்கிறீர்களா? ஒருவன் தன்னைக் கிறிஸ்துவுக்குரியவனென்று நம்பினால், தான் கிறிஸ்துவுக்குரியவனாயிருக்கிறதுபோல நாங்களும் கிறிஸ்துவுக்குரியவர்களென்று அவன் தன்னிலேதானே சிந்திக்கக்கடவன்.

Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ's, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ's, even so are we Christ's.

மேலும், உங்களை நிர்மூலமாக்குகிறதற்கல்ல, உங்களை ஊன்றக் கட்டுகிறதற்குக் கர்த்தர் எங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்த அதிகாரத்தைக்குறித்து, நான் இன்னும் சற்றே அதிகமாய் மேன்மைபாராட்டினாலும் நான் வெட்கப்படுவதில்லை.

For though I should boast somewhat more of our authority, which the Lord hath given us for edification, and not for your destruction, I should not be ashamed:

நான் நிருபங்களாலே உங்களைப் பயமுறுத்துகிறவனாய்த் தோன்றாதபடிக்கு இதைச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

That I may not seem as if I would terrify you by letters.

அவனுடைய நிருபங்கள் பாரயோசனையும் பலமுமுள்ளவைகள்; சரீரத்தின் தோற்றமோ பலவீனமும், வசனம் அற்பமுமாயிருக்கிறதென்கிறார்களே.

For his letters, say they, are weighty and powerful; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible.

அப்படிச் சொல்லுகிறவன், நாங்கள் தூரத்திலிருக்கும்போது எழுதுகிற நிருபங்களால் வசனத்தில் எப்படிப்பட்டவர்களாயிருக்கிறோமோ அப்படிப்பட்டவர்களாகவே சமீபத்திலிருக்கும்போதும் கிரியையிலும் இருப்போம் என்று சிந்திக்கக்கடவன்.

Let such an one think this, that, such as we are in word by letters when we are absent, such will we be also in deed when we are present.

ஆகிலும் தங்களைத்தாங்களே மெச்சிக்கொள்ளுகிற சிலருக்கு நாங்கள் எங்களைச் சரியாக்கவும் ஒப்பிடவும் துணியமாட்டோம்; தங்களைக்கொண்டு தங்களை அளந்துகொண்டு, தங்களுக்கே தங்களை ஒப்பிட்டுக்கொள்ளுகிற அவர்கள் புத்திமான்களல்ல.

For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

நாங்கள் அளவுக்கு மிஞ்சி மேன்மைபாராட்டாமல், உங்களிடம்வரைக்கும் வந்தெட்டத்தக்கதாக, தேவன் எங்களுக்கு அளந்து பகிர்ந்த அளவுப்பிரமாணத்தின்படியே மேன்மைபாராட்டுகிறோம்.

But we will not boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you.

உங்களிடத்தில் வந்தெட்டாதவர்களாய் நாங்கள் அளவுக்கு மிஞ்சிப்போகிறதில்லை; நாங்கள் கிறிஸ்துவின் சுவிசேஷத்தைப் பிரசங்கித்து உங்களிடம் வரைக்கும் வந்தோமே.

For we stretch not ourselves beyond our measure, as though we reached not unto you: for we are come as far as to you also in preaching the gospel of Christ:

எங்கள் அளவைக் கடந்து மற்றவர்களுடைய வேலைக்குட்பட்டு மேன்மைபாராட்டமாட்டோம்.

Not boasting of things without our measure, that is, of other men's labours; but having hope, when your faith is increased, that we shall be enlarged by you according to our rule abundantly,

ஆகிலும் உங்கள் விசுவாசம் விருத்தியாகும்போது, மற்றவர்களுடைய எல்லைகளுக்குள்ளே செய்யப்பட்டவைகளை நாங்கள் செய்ததாக மேன்மைபாராட்டாமல், உங்களுக்கு அப்புறமான இடங்களில் சுவிசேஷத்தைப் பிரசங்கிக்கத்தக்கதாக, எங்கள் அளவின்படி உங்களால் மிகவும் பெருகி விருத்தியடைவோமென்று நம்பிக்கையாயிருக்கிறோம்.

To preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, and not to boast in another man's line of things made ready to our hand.

மேன்மைபாராட்டுகிறவன் கர்த்தரைக்குறித்தே மேன்மைபாராட்டக்கடவன்.

But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

தன்னைத்தான் புகழுகிறவன் உத்தமனல்ல, கர்த்தரால் புகழப்படுகிறவனே உத்தமன்.

For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.
