2சாமுவேல் அத்தியாயம் 1

சவுல் மரித்தபின்பு, தாவீது அமலேக்கியரை முறிய அடித்து, சிக்லாகுக்குத் திரும்பிவந்து, இரண்டு நாள் அங்கே இருந்த பிற்பாடு,

Now it came to pass after the death of Saul, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Amalekites, and David had abode two days in Ziklag;

மூன்றாம் நாளிலே ஒரு மனுஷன் சவுலின் பாளயத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு, தன் வஸ்திரங்களைக் கிழித்துக்கொண்டு, தன் தலையின்மேல் புழுதியைப் போட்டுக்கொண்டு, தாவீதினிடத்தில் வந்து, தரையிலே விழுந்து வணங்கினான்.

It came even to pass on the third day, that, behold, a man came out of the camp from Saul with his clothes rent, and earth upon his head: and so it was, when he came to David, that he fell to the earth, and did obeisance.

தாவீது அவனைப் பார்த்து: நீ எங்கேயிருந்து வந்தாய் என்று கேட்டதற்கு, அவன்: இஸ்ரவேலின் பாளயத்திலிருந்து தப்பிவந்தேன் என்றான்.

And David said unto him, From whence comest thou? And he said unto him, Out of the camp of Israel am I escaped.

தாவீது அவனைப் பார்த்து: நடந்த செய்தி என்ன? சொல் என்று கேட்டதற்கு, அவன்: ஜனங்கள் யுத்தத்தைவிட்டு முறிந்தோடிப்போனார்கள்; ஜனங்களில் அநேகம் பேர் விழுந்து மடிந்துபோனார்கள்; சவுலும் அவர் குமாரனாகிய யோனத்தானும் மடிந்தார்கள் என்றான்.

And David said unto him, How went the matter? I pray thee, tell me. And he answered, That the people are fled from the battle, and many of the people also are fallen and dead; and Saul and Jonathan his son are dead also.

சவுலும் அவர் குமாரனாகிய யோனத்தானும் மடிந்துபோனது உனக்கு எப்படித் தெரியும் என்று தாவீது தனக்கு அதை அறிவிக்கிற வாலிபனிடத்தில் கேட்டதற்கு,

And David said unto the young man that told him, How knowest thou that Saul and Jonathan his son be dead?

அந்த வாலிபன்: நான் தற்செயலாய்க் கில்போவா மலைக்குப் போனேன்; அப்பொழுது இதோ, சவுல் தம்முடைய ஈட்டியின்மேல் சாய்ந்துகொண்டிருந்தார்; இரதங்களும் குதிரை வீரரும் அவரைத் தொடர்ந்து நெருங்கினார்கள்.

And the young man that told him said, As I happened by chance upon mount Gilboa, behold, Saul leaned upon his spear; and, lo, the chariots and horsemen followed hard after him.

அவர் திரும்பிப் பார்த்து: என்னைக் கண்டு கூப்பிட்டார்; அதற்கு நான்: இதோ, இருக்கிறேன் என்றேன்.

And when he looked behind him, he saw me, and called unto me. And I answered, Here am I.

அப்பொழுது அவர்: நீ யார் என்று என்னைக் கேட்டார்; நான் அமலேக்கியன் என்று சொன்னேன்.

And he said unto me, Who art thou? And I answered him, I am an Amalekite.

அவர் என்னை நோக்கி: நீ என்னண்டையில் கிட்டவந்து நின்று, என்னைக் கொன்றுபோடு; என் பிராணன் முழுதும் இன்னும் போகாததினால் எனக்கு வேதனையாயிருக்கிறது என்றார்.

He said unto me again, Stand, I pray thee, upon me, and slay me: for anguish is come upon me, because my life is yet whole in me.

அப்பொழுது நான், அவர் விழுந்த பின்பு பிழைக்கமாட்டார் என்று நிச்சயித்து, அவரண்டையில் போய் நின்று, அவரைக் கொன்றுபோட்டேன்; பிற்பாடு அவர் தலையின்மேல் இருந்த முடியையும் அவர் புயத்தில் இருந்த அஸ்தகடகத்தையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு, அவைகளை இங்கே என் ஆண்டவனிடத்திற்குக் கொண்டுவந்தேன் என்றான்.

So I stood upon him, and slew him, because I was sure that he could not live after that he was fallen: and I took the crown that was upon his head, and the bracelet that was on his arm, and have brought them hither unto my lord.

அப்பொழுது தாவீதும் அவனோடிருந்த சகல மனுஷரும் தங்கள் வஸ்திரங்களைக் கிழித்துக்கொண்டு,

Then David took hold on his clothes, and rent them; and likewise all the men that were with him:

சவுலும், அவன் குமாரனாகிய யோனத்தானும், கர்த்தருடைய ஜனங்களும், இஸ்ரவேல் குடும்பத்தாரும், பட்டயத்தாலே விழுந்தபடியினால் புலம்பி அழுது சாயங்காலமட்டும் உபவாசமாயிருந்தார்கள்.

And they mourned, and wept, and fasted until even, for Saul, and for Jonathan his son, and for the people of the LORD, and for the house of Israel; because they were fallen by the sword.

தாவீது அதைத் தனக்கு அறிவித்த வாலிபனைப் பார்த்து: நீ எவ்விடத்தான் என்று கேட்டதற்கு, அவன்: நான் அந்நிய ஜாதியானுடைய மகன், நான் அமலேக்கியன் என்றான்.

And David said unto the young man that told him, Whence art thou? And he answered, I am the son of a stranger, an Amalekite.

தாவீது அவனை நோக்கி: கர்த்தர் அபிஷேகம்பண்ணினவரைக் கொன்றுபோடும்படி நீ உன் கையை நீட்டப் பயப்படாமற்போனது என்ன என்று சொல்லி,

And David said unto him, How wast thou not afraid to stretch forth thine hand to destroy the LORD'S anointed?

வாலிபரில் ஒருவனைக் கூப்பிட்டு, நீ கிட்டப்போய் அவன்மேல் விழுந்து, அவனை வெட்டு என்றான்; அவன் அவனை வெட்டினான்; அவன் செத்தான்.

And David called one of the young men, and said, Go near, and fall upon him. And he smote him that he died.

தாவீது அவனைப் பார்த்து: உன் இரத்தப்பழி உன் தலையின்மேல் இருப்பதாக; கர்த்தர் அபிஷேகம் பண்ணினவரை நான் கொன்றுபோட்டேன் என்று உன்வாயே உனக்கு விரோதமான சாட்சி சொல்லிற்று என்றான்.

And David said unto him, Thy blood be upon thy head; for thy mouth hath testified against thee, saying, I have slain the LORD'S anointed.

தாவீது சவுலின்பேரிலும், அவன் குமாரனாகிய யோனத்தானின் பேரிலும், புலம்பல் பாடினான்.

And David lamented with this lamentation over Saul and over Jonathan his son:

(வில்வித்தையை யூதா புத்திரருக்குக் கற்றுக்கொடுக்கும்படி கட்டளையிட்டான்; அது யாசேரின் புஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிறது) அவன் பாடின புலம்பலாவது:

(Also he bade them teach the children of Judah the use of the bow: behold, it is written in the book of Jasher.)

இஸ்ரவேலின் அலங்காரம் உயர்ந்த ஸ்தானங்களில் அதமாயிற்று; பராக்கிரமசாலிகள் விழுந்து போனார்கள்.

The beauty of Israel is slain upon thy high places: how are the mighty fallen!

பெலிஸ்தரின் குமாரத்திகள் சந்தோஷப்படாதபடிக்கும், விருத்தசேதனம் இல்லாதவர்களின் குமாரத்திகள் களிகூராதபடிக்கும், அதைக் காத் பட்டணத்தில் அறிவியாமலும் அஸ்கலோனின் வீதிகளில் பிரஸ்தாபப்படுத்தாமலும் இருங்கள்.

Tell it not in Gath, publish it not in the streets of Askelon; lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph.

கில்போவா மலைகளே, உங்கள்மேல் பனியும் மழையும் பெய்யாமலும், காணிக்கைக்கு ஏற்ற பலன் தரும் வயல்கள் இராமலும் போவதாக; அங்கே பராக்கிரமசாலிகளுடைய கேடகம் அவமதிக்கப்பட்டது; சவுல் தைலத்தால் அபிஷேகம்பண்ணப்படாதவன்போல அவர் கேடகமும் அவமதிக்கப்பட்டதே.

Ye mountains of Gilboa, let there be no dew, neither let there be rain, upon you, nor fields of offerings: for there the shield of the mighty is vilely cast away, the shield of Saul, as though he had not been anointed with oil.

கொலையுண்டவர்களின் இரத்தத்தைக் குடியாமலும், பராக்கிரமசாலிகளின் நிணத்தை உண்ணாமலும், யோனத்தானுடைய வில் பின்வாங்கினதில்லை; சவுலின் பட்டயம் வெறுமையாய்த் திரும்பினதில்லை.

From the blood of the slain, from the fat of the mighty, the bow of Jonathan turned not back, and the sword of Saul returned not empty.

உயிரோடே இருக்கையில் சவுலும் யோனத்தானும் பிரியமும் இன்பமுமாயிருந்தார்கள்; மரணத்திலும் பிரிந்துபோனதில்லை; கழுகுகளைப் பார்க்கிலும் வேகமும், சிங்கங்களைப் பார்க்கிலும் பலமுமுள்ளவர்களாயிருந்தார்கள்.

Saul and Jonathan were lovely and pleasant in their lives, and in their death they were not divided: they were swifter than eagles, they were stronger than lions.

இஸ்ரவேலின் குமாரத்திகளே, உங்களுக்கு இரத்தாம்பரத்தைச் சிறப்பாய் உடுப்பித்து, உங்கள் உடையின்மேல் பொன் ஆபரணங்களைத் தரிப்பித்த சவுலுக்காக அழுது புலம்புங்கள்.

Ye daughters of Israel, weep over Saul, who clothed you in scarlet, with other delights, who put on ornaments of gold upon your apparel.

போர்முகத்தில் பராக்கிரமசாலிகள் விழுந்தார்களே. யோனத்தானே, உயரமான ஸ்தலங்களிலே வெட்டுண்டுபோனாயே.

How are the mighty fallen in the midst of the battle! O Jonathan, thou wast slain in thine high places.

என் சகோதரனாகிய யோனத்தானே, உனக்காக நான் வியாகுலப்படுகிறேன்; நீ எனக்கு வெகு இன்பமாயிருந்தாய்; உன் சிநேகம் ஆச்சரியமாயிருந்தது; ஸ்திரீகளின் சிநேகத்தைப்பார்க்கிலும் அதிகமாயிருந்தது.

I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant hast thou been unto me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women.

பராக்கிரமசாலிகள் விழுந்துபோனார்களே; யுத்த ஆயுதங்கள் எல்லாம் அழிந்து போயிற்றே, என்று பாடினான்.

How are the mighty fallen, and the weapons of war perished!

2சாமுவேல் அத்தியாயம் 2

பின்பு தாவீது கர்த்தரை நோக்கி: நான் யூதாவின் பட்டணங்கள் ஒன்றிலே போய் இருக்கலாமா என்று விசாரித்தான். அதற்குக் கர்த்தர்: போ என்றார்; எவ்விடத்திற்குப் போகலாம் என்று தாவீது கேட்டதற்கு, அவர்: எப்ரோனுக்குப் போ என்றார்.

And it came to pass after this, that David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up into any of the cities of Judah? And the LORD said unto him, Go up. And David said, Whither shall I go up? And he said, Unto Hebron.

அப்படியே தாவீது தன் இரண்டு மனைவிகளாகிய யெஸ்ரயேல் ஊராளான அகினோவாமோடும், நாபாலின் மனைவியாயிருந்த கர்மேல் ஊராளான அபிகாயிலோடும் கூட அவ்விடத்திற்குப் போனான்.

So David went up thither, and his two wives also, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail Nabal's wife the Carmelite.

அன்றியும் தன்னோடிருந்த மனுஷரையும், அவர்கள் குடும்பங்களையும் கூட்டிக்கொண்டுபோனான்; அவர்கள் எப்ரோனின் சுற்றூர்களிலே குடியேறினார்கள்.

And his men that were with him did David bring up, every man with his household: and they dwelt in the cities of Hebron.

அப்பொழுது யூதாவின் மனுஷர் வந்து, அங்கே தாவீதை யூதா வம்சத்தாரின்மேல் ராஜாவாக அபிஷேகம்பண்ணினார்கள். கீலேயாத்தேசத்து யாபேசின் மனுஷர் சவுலை அடக்கம்பண்ணினவர்கள் என்று அவர்கள் தாவீதுக்கு அறிவித்தபோது,

And the men of Judah came, and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah. And they told David, saying, That the men of Jabeshgilead were they that buried Saul.

தாவீது கீலேயாத்தேசத்து யாபேசின் மனுஷரிடத்தில் ஸ்தானாபதிகளை அனுப்பி, நீங்கள் உங்கள் ஆண்டவனாகிய சவுலுக்கு இந்தத் தயவைச் செய்து, அவரை அடக்கம்பண்ணினபடியினாலே, கர்த்தர் உங்களை ஆசீர்வதிப்பாராக.

And David sent messengers unto the men of Jabeshgilead, and said unto them, Blessed be ye of the LORD, that ye have shewed this kindness unto your lord, even unto Saul, and have buried him.

கர்த்தர் உங்களைக் கிருபையும் உண்மையுமாய் நடத்துவாராக; நீங்கள் இந்தக் காரியத்தைச் செய்தபடியினால், நானும் இந்த நன்மைக்குத்தக்கதாக உங்களை நடத்துவேன்.

And now the LORD shew kindness and truth unto you: and I also will requite you this kindness, because ye have done this thing.

இப்பொழுதும் நீங்கள் உங்கள் கைகளைத் திடப்படுத்திக்கொண்டு நல்ல சேவகராயிருங்கள்; உங்கள் ஆண்டவனாகிய சவுல் மரித்தபின்பு, யூதா வம்சத்தார் என்னைத் தங்கள்மேல் ராஜாவாக அபிஷேகம் பண்ணினார்கள் என்று அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்லச்சொன்னான்.

Therefore now let your hands be strengthened, and be ye valiant: for your master Saul is dead, and also the house of Judah have anointed me king over them.

சவுலின் படைத்தலைவனான நேரின் குமாரனாகிய அப்னேர் சவுலின் குமாரனாகிய இஸ்போசேத்தை மகனாயீமுக்கு அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோய்,

But Abner the son of Ner, captain of Saul's host, took Ishbosheth the son of Saul, and brought him over to Mahanaim;

அவனைக் கீலேயாத்தின் மேலும், அஷூரியர் மேலும், யெஸ்ரயேலின் மேலும், எப்பிராயீமின் மேலும், பென்யமீனின் மேலும், இஸ்ரவேலனைத்தின் மேலும் ராஜாவாக்கினான்.

And made him king over Gilead, and over the Ashurites, and over Jezreel, and over Ephraim, and over Benjamin, and over all Israel.

சவுலின் குமாரனாகிய இஸ்போசேத் இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் ராஜாவாகிறபோது, நாற்பது வயதாயிருந்தான்; அவன் இரண்டுவருஷம் ராஜ்யபாரம்பண்ணினான்; யூதா கோத்திரத்தார் மாத்திரம் தாவீதைப் பின்பற்றினார்கள்.

Ishbosheth Saul's son was forty years old when he began to reign over Israel, and reigned two years. But the house of Judah followed David.

தாவீது எப்ரோனிலே யூதா கோத்திரத்தின்மேல் ராஜாவாயிருந்த நாட்களின் இலக்கம் ஏழு வருஷமும் ஆறு மாதமுமாம்.

And the time that David was king in Hebron over the house of Judah was seven years and six months.

நேரின் குமாரனாகிய அப்னேர் சவுலின் குமாரனாகிய இஸ்போசேத்தின் சேவகரைக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, மகனாயீமிலிருந்து கிபியோனுக்குப் புறப்பட்டுப்போனான்.

And Abner the son of Ner, and the servants of Ishbosheth the son of Saul, went out from Mahanaim to Gibeon.

அப்பொழுது செருயாவின் குமாரனாகிய யோவாபும் தாவீதின் சேவகரும் புறப்பட்டுப்போய், கிபியோனின் குளத்தண்டையில் ஒருவருக்கொருவர் எதிர்ப்பட்டு, குளத்திற்கு அந்தப்பக்கத்தில் அவர்களும், குளத்திற்கு இந்தப்பக்கத்தில் இவர்களும் இறங்கினார்கள்.

And Joab the son of Zeruiah, and the servants of David, went out, and met together by the pool of Gibeon: and they sat down, the one on the one side of the pool, and the other on the other side of the pool.

அப்னேர் யோவாபை நோக்கி: வாலிபர் எழுந்து, நமக்கு முன்பாகச் சிலம்பம்பண்ணட்டும் என்றான். அதற்கு யோவாப்: அவர்கள் எழுந்து, அப்படிச் செய்யட்டும் என்றான்.

And Abner said to Joab, Let the young men now arise, and play before us. And Joab said, Let them arise.

அப்பொழுது சவுலின் குமாரனாகிய இஸ்போசேத்தின் பக்கத்திற்குப் பென்யமீன் மனுஷரில் பன்னிரண்டுபேரும், தாவீதுடைய சேவகரிலே பன்னிரண்டுபேரும், எழுந்து ஒரு பக்கமாய்ப் போய்,

Then there arose and went over by number twelve of Benjamin, which pertained to Ishbosheth the son of Saul, and twelve of the servants of David.

ஒருவர் தலையை ஒருவர் பிடித்து, ஒருவருடைய விலாவிலே ஒருவர் பட்டயத்தினாலே குத்தி, ஒருமிக்க விழுந்தார்கள்; அதினாலே கிபியோனிலிருக்கிற அந்த ஸ்தலம் எல்காத்அசூரிம் என்னப்பட்டது.

And they caught every one his fellow by the head, and thrust his sword in his fellow's side; so they fell down together: wherefore that place was called Helkathhazzurim, which is in Gibeon.

அன்றையதினம் மிகவும் கடினமான யுத்தமாகி, அப்னேரும் இஸ்ரவேல் மனுஷரும் தாவீதின் சேவகரால் முறிய அடிக்கப்பட்டார்கள்.

And there was a very sore battle that day; and Abner was beaten, and the men of Israel, before the servants of David.

அங்கே செருயாவின் மூன்று குமாரராகிய யோவாபும் அபிசாயும் ஆசகேலும் இருந்தார்கள்; ஆசகேல் வெளியிலிருக்கிற கலைமான்களில் ஒன்றைப்போல வேகமாய் ஓடுகிறவனாயிருந்தான்.

And there were three sons of Zeruiah there, Joab, and Abishai, and Asahel: and Asahel was as light of foot as a wild roe.

அவன் அப்னேரைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து, வலதுபுறத்திலாகிலும் இடதுபுறத்திலாகிலும், அவனை விட்டு விலகாமல் துரத்திக்கொண்டுபோனான்.

And Asahel pursued after Abner; and in going he turned not to the right hand nor to the left from following Abner.

அப்னேர் திரும்பிப் பார்த்து: நீ ஆசகேல் அல்லவா என்றான். அவன்: நான்தான் என்றான்.

Then Abner looked behind him, and said, Art thou Asahel? And he answered, I am.

அப்பொழுது அப்னேர் அவனை நோக்கி: நீ வலதுபக்கத்திற்காகிலும் இடதுபக்கத்திற்காகிலும் விலகி, வாலிபரில் ஒருவனைப் பிடித்து, அவனை உரிந்துகொள் என்றான்; ஆசகேலோ விடமாட்டேன் என்று தொடர்ந்துபோனான்.

And Abner said to him, Turn thee aside to thy right hand or to thy left, and lay thee hold on one of the young men, and take thee his armour. But Asahel would not turn aside from following of him.

பின்னும் அப்னேர் ஆசகேலை நோக்கி: நீ என்னை விட்டுப்போ; நான் உன்னைத் தரையோடே ஏன் வெட்டவேண்டும்? பிற்பாடு உன் சகோதரனாகிய யோவாபின் முகத்திலே எப்படி விழிப்பேன் என்றான்.

And Abner said again to Asahel, Turn thee aside from following me: wherefore should I smite thee to the ground? how then should I hold up my face to Joab thy brother?

ஆனாலும் அவன் விலகிப்போகமாட்டேன் என்றபடியினால், அப்னேர் அவனை ஈட்டியின் பின்புற அலகினால் அவன் வயிற்றிலே குத்தினான்; ஈட்டி முதுகிலே புறப்பட்டது; அவன் அங்கேதானே விழுந்து செத்தான்; ஆசகேல் விழுந்துகிடக்கிற இடத்திலே வந்தவர்களெல்லாரும் தரித்து நின்றார்கள்.

Howbeit he refused to turn aside: wherefore Abner with the hinder end of the spear smote him under the fifth rib, that the spear came out behind him; and he fell down there, and died in the same place: and it came to pass, that as many as came to the place where Asahel fell down and died stood still.

யோவாபும் அபிசாயும் சூரியன் அஸ்தமிக்குமட்டும் அப்னேரைப் பின்தொடர்ந்தார்கள்; கிபியோன் வனாந்தர வழிக்கு அருகான கீயாவுக்கு எதிரே இருக்கிற அம்மா மேடுமட்டும் வந்தார்கள்.

Joab also and Abishai pursued after Abner: and the sun went down when they were come to the hill of Ammah, that lieth before Giah by the way of the wilderness of Gibeon.

அப்பொழுது அப்னேரைப் பின்சென்ற பென்யமீன் புத்திரர் ஒரே படையாகக் கூடி, ஒரு மலையின் உச்சியிலே நின்றார்கள்.

And the children of Benjamin gathered themselves together after Abner, and became one troop, and stood on the top of an hill.

அப்பொழுது அப்னேர் யோவாபைப் பார்த்துக் கூப்பிட்டு, பட்டயம் எப்போதும் சங்காரம் பண்ணிக்கொண்டிருக்க வேண்டுமோ, முடிவிலே கசப்புண்டாகும் என்று அறியீரோ, தங்கள் சகோதரரை விட்டுப் பின்வாங்கும்படிக்கு எந்தமட்டும் ஜனங்களுக்குச் சொல்லாதிருப்பீர் என்றான்.

Then Abner called to Joab, and said, Shall the sword devour for ever? knowest thou not that it will be bitterness in the latter end? how long shall it be then, ere thou bid the people return from following their brethren?

அதற்கு யோவாப்: இன்று காலமே நீர் பேசாதிருந்தீரானால் ஜனங்கள் அவரவர் தங்கள் சகோதரரைப் பின்தொடராமல், அப்போதே திரும்பி விடுவார்கள் என்று தேவனுடைய ஜீவனைக்கொண்டு சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றான்.

And Joab said, As God liveth, unless thou hadst spoken, surely then in the morning the people had gone up every one from following his brother.

யோவாப் எக்காளம் ஊதினான்; அப்பொழுது ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் இஸ்ரவேலைத் தொடராமலும், யுத்தம்பண்ணாமலும் நின்றுவிட்டார்கள்.

So Joab blew a trumpet, and all the people stood still, and pursued after Israel no more, neither fought they any more.

அன்று ராமுழுதும் அப்னேரும் அவன் மனுஷரும் அந்தரவெளி வழியாய்ப் போய், யோர்தானைக் கடந்து, பித்ரோனை உருவநடந்து தாண்டி, மகனாயீமுக்குப் போனார்கள்.

And Abner and his men walked all that night through the plain, and passed over Jordan, and went through all Bithron, and they came to Mahanaim.

யோவாப் அப்னேரைத் தொடராமல் ஜனங்களையெல்லாம் கூடிவரச்செய்தான்; தாவீதின் சேவகரில் பத்தொன்பதுபேரும் ஆசகேலும் குறைந்திருந்தார்கள்.

And Joab returned from following Abner: and when he had gathered all the people together, there lacked of David's servants nineteen men and Asahel.

தாவீதின் சேவகரோ பென்யமீனரிலும், அப்னேரின் மனுஷரிலும், முந்நூற்றறுபதுபேரை மடங்கடித்தார்கள்.

But the servants of David had smitten of Benjamin, and of Abner's men, so that three hundred and threescore men died.

உங்களுக்குள்ளே விபசாரம் உண்டென்று பிரசித்தமாய்ச் சொல்லப்படுகிறதே; ஒருவன் தன் தகப்பனுடைய மனைவியை வைத்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறானே; அது அஞ்ஞானிகளுக்குள்ளும் சொல்லப்படாத விபசாரமாயிருக்கிறதே.

It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.

இப்படிப்பட்ட காரியஞ்செய்தவனை நீங்கள் உங்களைவிட்டு நீக்காமலும் துக்கப்படாமலும், இறுமாப்படைந்திருக்கிறீர்கள்.

And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.

நான் சரீரத்தினாலே உங்களுக்குத் தூரமாயிருந்தும், ஆவியினாலே உங்களோடேகூட இருக்கிறவனாய், இப்படிச் செய்தவனைக்குறித்து நான் கூட இருக்கிறதுபோல,

For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,

நீங்களும், என்னுடைய ஆவியும், நமது கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் அதிகாரத்தோடே கூடிவந்திருக்கையில்,

In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,

அப்படிப்பட்டவனுடைய ஆவி கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் நாளிலே இரட்சிக்கப்படும்படி, மாம்சத்தின் அழிவுக்காக, நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் நாமத்தினாலே அவனைச் சாத்தானுக்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கவேண்டுமென்று தீர்ப்புச்செய்கிறேன்.

To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

நீங்கள் மேன்மைபாராட்டுகிறது நல்லதல்ல; கொஞ்சம் புளித்தமா பிசைந்தமா முழுவதையும் புளிப்பாக்குமென்று அறியீர்களா?

Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?

ஆகையால், நீங்கள் புளிப்பில்லாதவர்களாயிருக்கிறபடியே, புதிதாய்ப் பிசைந்தமாவாயிருக்கும்படிக்கு, பழைய புளித்தமாவைப் புறம்பே கழித்துப்போடுங்கள். ஏனெனில் நம்முடைய பஸ்காவாகிய கிறிஸ்து நமக்காக பலியிடப்பட்டிருக்கிறாரே.

Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

ஆதலால் பழைய புளித்தமாவோடே அல்ல, துர்க்குணம் பொல்லாப்பு என்னும் புளித்தமாவோடும் அல்ல, துப்புரவு உண்மை என்னும் புளிப்பில்லாத அப்பத்தோடே பண்டிகையை ஆசரிக்கக்கடவோம்.

Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

விபசாரக்காரரோடே கலந்திருக்கக்கூடாதென்று நிருபத்தில் உங்களுக்கு எழுதினேன்.

I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:

ஆனாலும், இவ்வுலகத்திலுள்ள விபசாரக்காரர், பொருளாசைக்காரர், கொள்ளைக்காரர், விக்கிரகாராதனைக்காரர் இவர்களோடு எவ்வளவும் கலந்திருக்கக்கூடாதென்று நான் எழுதவில்லை; அப்படியானால் நீங்கள் உலகத்தைவிட்டு நீங்கிப்போகவேண்டியதாயிருக்குமே.

Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.

நான் உங்களுக்கு எழுதினதென்னவென்றால், சகோதரனென்னப்பட்ட ஒருவன் விபசாரக்காரனாயாவது, பொருளாசைக்காரனாயாவது, விக்கிரகாராதனைக்காரனாயாவது, உதாசினனாயாவது, வெறியனாயாவது, கொள்ளைக்காரனாயாவது இருந்தால், அவனோடே கலந்திருக்கக்கூடாது; அப்படிப்பட்டவனுடனேகூடப் புசிக்கவுங்கூடாது.

But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

புறம்பே இருக்கிறவர்களைக்குறித்துத் தீர்ப்புச்செய்கிறது என் காரியமா? உள்ளே இருக்கிறவர்களைக்குறித்தல்லவோ நீங்கள் தீர்ப்புச்செய்கிறீர்கள்?

For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?

புறம்பே இருக்கிறவர்களைக்குறித்து தேவனே தீர்ப்புச் செய்வார். ஆகையால் அந்தப் பொல்லாதவனை உங்களைவிட்டுத் தள்ளிப்போடுங்கள்.

But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

உங்களில் ஒருவனுக்கு வேறொருவனோடே வழக்குண்டானால், வழக்காடும்படி அவன் பரிசுத்தவான்களிடத்தில் போகாமல், அநீதக்காரரிடத்தில் போகத் துணிகிறதென்ன?

Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?

பரிசுத்தவான்கள் உலகத்தை நியாயந்தீர்ப்பார்களென்று அறியீர்களா? உலகம் உங்களால் நியாயந்தீர்க்கப்படுவதாயிருக்க, அற்ப வழக்குகளைத் தீர்க்க நீங்கள் அபாத்திரரா?

Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

தேவதூதர்களையும் நியாயந்தீர்ப்போமென்று அறியீர்களா? அப்படியிருக்க, இந்த ஜீவனுக்கேற்றவைகளை நீங்கள் தீர்த்துக்கொள்ளக்கூடாதிருக்கிறது எப்படி?

Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

இந்த ஜீவனுக்கேற்ற வழக்குகள் உங்களுக்கு இருந்தால், தீர்ப்புச்செய்கிறதற்கு, சபையில் அற்பமாய் எண்ணப்பட்டவர்களை நியமித்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள்.

If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.

உங்களுக்கு வெட்கம் உண்டாகும்படி இதைச் சொல்லுகிறேன். சகோதரனுக்கும் சகோதரனுக்கும் உண்டான வழக்கைத் தீர்க்கத்தக்க விவேகி ஒருவனாகிலும் உங்களுக்குள் இல்லையா?

I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?

சகோதரனோடே சகோதரன் வழக்காடுகிறான், அவிசுவாசிகளுக்கு முன்பாகவும் அப்படிச் செய்கிறான்.

But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.

நீங்கள் ஒருவரோடொருவர் வழக்காடுகிறது எவ்விதத்திலும் குற்றமாயிருக்கிறது. அப்படிச் செய்கிறதைவிட நீங்கள் ஏன் அநியாயத்தைச் சகித்துக்கொள்ளுகிறதில்லை, ஏன் நஷ்டத்தைப் பொறுத்துக்கொள்ளுகிறதில்லை?

Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?

நீங்களே அநியாயஞ்செய்கிறீர்கள், நஷ்டப்படுத்துகிறீர்கள்; சகோதரருக்கும் அப்படிச் செய்கிறீர்களே.

Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.

அநியாயக்காரர் தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தைச் சுதந்தரிப்பதில்லையென்று அறியீர்களா? வஞ்சிக்கப்படாதிருங்கள்; வேசிமார்க்கத்தாரும், விக்கிரகாராதனைக்காரரும், விபசாரக்காரரும், சுயபுணர்ச்சிக்காரரும், ஆண்புணர்ச்சிக்காரரும்,

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

திருடனும், பொருளாசைக்காரரும், வெறியரும், உதாசினரும், கொள்ளைக்காரரும் தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தைச் சுதந்தரிப்பதில்லை.

Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

உங்களில் சிலர் இப்படிப்பட்டவர்களாயிருந்தீர்கள்; ஆயினும் கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுவின் நாமத்தினாலும், நமது தேவனுடைய ஆவியினாலும் கழுவப்பட்டீர்கள், பரிசுத்தமாக்கப்பட்டீர்கள், நீதிமான்களாக்கப்பட்டீர்கள்.

And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

எல்லாவற்றையும் அநுபவிக்க எனக்கு அதிகாரமுண்டு, ஆகிலும் எல்லாம் தகுதியாயிராது; எல்லாவற்றையும் அநுபவிக்க எனக்கு அதிகாரமுண்டு, ஆகிலும் நான் ஒன்றிற்கும் அடிமைப்படமாட்டேன்.

All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

வயிற்றுக்குப் போஜனமும் போஜனத்துக்கு வயிறும் ஏற்கும்; ஆனாலும் தேவன் இதையும் அதையும் அழியப்பண்ணுவார். சரீரமோ வேசித்தனத்திற்கல்ல, கர்த்தருக்கே உரியது; கர்த்தரும் சரீரத்திற்கு உரியவர்.

Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

தேவன் கர்த்தரை எழுப்பினாரே, நம்மையும் தமது வல்லமையினாலே எழுப்புவார்.

And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.

உங்கள் சரீரங்கள் கிறிஸ்துவின் அவயவங்களென்று அறியீர்களா? அப்படியிருக்க, நான் கிறிஸ்துவின் அவயவங்களை வேசியின் அவயவங்களாக்கலாமா? அப்படிச் செய்யலாகாதே.

Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

வேசியோடு இசைந்திருக்கிறவன் அவளுடனே ஒரே சரீரமாயிருக்கிறானென்று அறியீர்களா? இருவரும் ஒரே மாம்சமாயிருப்பார்கள் என்று சொல்லியிருக்கிறதே.

What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.

அப்படியே கர்த்தரோடிசைந்திருக்கிறவனும், அவருடனே ஒரே ஆவியாயிருக்கிறான்.

But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

வேசித்தனத்திற்கு விலகியோடுங்கள். மனுஷன் செய்கிற எந்தப் பாவமும் சரீரத்திற்குப் புறம்பாயிருக்கும்; வேசித்தனஞ்செய்கிறவனோ தன் சுயசரீரத்திற்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பாவஞ்செய்கிறான்.

Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

உங்கள் சரீரமானது நீங்கள் தேவனாலே பெற்றும் உங்களில் தங்கியும் இருக்கிற பரிசுத்த ஆவியினுடைய ஆலயமாயிருக்கிறதென்றும், நீங்கள் உங்களுடையவர்களல்லவென்றும் அறியீர்களா?

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

கிரயத்துக்குக் கொள்ளப்பட்டீர்களே; ஆகையால் தேவனுக்கு உடையவைகளாகிய உங்கள் சரீரத்தினாலும் உங்கள் ஆவியினாலும் தேவனை மகிமைப்படுத்துங்கள்.

For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
