அக்காலத்திலே யெரொபெயாமின் குமாரனாகிய அபியா வியாதியில் விழுந்தான்.

At that time Abijah the son of Jeroboam fell sick.

அப்பொழுது யெரொபெயாம் தன் மனைவியைப் பார்த்து: நீ எழுந்து, நீ யெரொபெயாமின் மனைவியென்று ஒருவரும் அறியாதபடிக்கு வேஷம்மாறி சீலோவுக்குப் போ; இந்த ஜனத்தின்மேல் நான் ராஜாவாவேன் என்று என்னோடே சொன்ன தீர்க்கதரிசியாகிய அகியா அங்கே இருக்கிறான்.

And Jeroboam said to his wife, Arise, I pray thee, and disguise thyself, that thou be not known to be the wife of Jeroboam; and get thee to Shiloh: behold, there is Ahijah the prophet, which told me that I should be king over this people.

நீ உன் கையிலே பத்து அப்பங்களையும், பணியாரங்களையும், ஒரு கலசம் தேனையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு அவனிடத்துக்குப் போ; பிள்ளைக்குச் சம்பவிக்கப்போகிறது இன்னதென்று அவன் உனக்கு அறிவிப்பான் என்றான்.

And take with thee ten loaves, and cracknels, and a cruse of honey, and go to him: he shall tell thee what shall become of the child.

அப்படியே யெரொபெயாமின் மனைவி செய்தாள்; அவள் எழுந்து சீலோவுக்குப் போய், அகியாவின் வீட்டிற்குள் பிரவேசித்தாள்; அகியாவோ முதிர் வயதானதினால் அவன் கண்கள் மங்கலடைந்து பார்க்கக்கூடாதிருந்தான்.

And Jeroboam's wife did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahijah. But Ahijah could not see; for his eyes were set by reason of his age.

கர்த்தர் அகியாவினிடத்தில்: இதோ, யெரொபெயாமின் மனைவி வியாதியாருக்கிற தன் குமாரனுக்காக உன்னை ஒரு விசேஷம் கேட்க வருகிறாள்; நீ அவளுக்கு இன்ன இன்ன பிரகாரமாகச் சொல்லவேண்டும்; அவள் உட்பிரவேசிக்கிறபோது, தன்னை அந்நிய ஸ்திரீயாகக் காண்பிப்பாள் என்றார்.

And the LORD said unto Ahijah, Behold, the wife of Jeroboam cometh to ask a thing of thee for her son; for he is sick: thus and thus shalt thou say unto her: for it shall be, when she cometh in, that she shall feign herself to be another woman.

ஆகையால் வாசற்படிக்குள் பிரவேசிக்கும் அவளுடைய நடையின் சத்தத்தை அகியா கேட்டவுடனே, அவன்: யெரொபெயாமின் மனைவியே, உள்ளே வா; உன்னை அந்நிய ஸ்திரீயாகக் காண்பிக்கிறதென்ன? துக்கசெய்தியை உனக்கு அறிவிக்க நான் அனுப்பப்பட்டேன்.

And it was so, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she came in at the door, that he said, Come in, thou wife of Jeroboam; why feignest thou thyself to be another? for I am sent to thee with heavy tidings.

நீ போய் யெரொபெயாமை நோக்கி: இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால்; ஜனத்தினின்று உன்னை நான் உயர்த்தி, உன்னை இஸ்ரவேல் என்னும் என் ஜனத்தின்மேல் அதிபதியாக வைத்தேன்.

Go, tell Jeroboam, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Forasmuch as I exalted thee from among the people, and made thee prince over my people Israel,

நான் ராஜ்யபாரத்தைத் தாவீது வம்சத்தாரின் கையிலிருந்து பிடுங்கி உனக்குக் கொடுத்தேன்; ஆனாலும் என் கற்பனைகளைக் கைக்கொண்டு, என் பார்வைக்குச் செம்மையானதையே செய்ய, தன் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் என்னைப் பின்பற்றின என் தாசனாகிய தாவீதைப்போல நீ இராமல்,

And rent the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it thee: and yet thou hast not been as my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me with all his heart, to do that only which was right in mine eyes;

உனக்கு முன்னிருந்த எல்லாரைப்பார்க்கிலும் பொல்லாப்புச் செய்தாய்; எனக்குக் கோபம் உண்டாக்க, நீ போய் உனக்கு அந்நிய தேவர்களையும் வார்க்கப்பட்ட விக்கிரகங்களையும் உண்டுபண்ணி, உனக்குப் புறம்பே என்னைத் தள்ளிவிட்டாய்.

But hast done evil above all that were before thee: for thou hast gone and made thee other gods, and molten images, to provoke me to anger, and hast cast me behind thy back:

ஆகையால் இதோ, நான் யெரொபெயாமுடைய வீட்டின்மேல் பொல்லாப்பை வரப்பண்ணி, யெரொபெயாமுக்கு, சுவர்மேல் நீர்விடும் ஒரு நாய் முதலாயிராதபடிக்கு, இஸ்ரவேலிலே அடைபட்டவனையும் விடுபட்டவனையும் சங்காரம்பண்ணி, குப்பை கழித்துப்போடப்படுகிறதுபோல யெரொபெயாமின் பின்னடியாரை அவர்கள் கட்டோடே அற்றுப்போகுமட்டும் கழித்துப்போடுவேன் என்றார்.

Therefore, behold, I will bring evil upon the house of Jeroboam, and will cut off from Jeroboam him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel, and will take away the remnant of the house of Jeroboam, as a man taketh away dung, till it be all gone.

யெரொபெயாமின் சந்ததியாரில் பட்டணத்திலே சாகிறவனை நாய்கள் தின்னும்; வெளியிலே சாகிறவனை ஆகாயத்தின் பறவைகள் தின்னும்; கர்த்தர் இதை உரைத்தார்.

Him that dieth of Jeroboam in the city shall the dogs eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the air eat: for the LORD hath spoken it.

ஆகையால் நீ எழுந்து, உன் வீட்டுக்குப்போ, உன் கால்கள் பட்டணத்திற்குள் பிரவேசிக்கையில் பிள்ளையாண்டான் செத்துப்போவான்.

Arise thou therefore, get thee to thine own house: and when thy feet enter into the city, the child shall die.

அவனுக்காக இஸ்ரவேலரெல்லாரும் துக்கங்கொண்டாடி அவனை அடக்கம்பண்ணுவார்கள்; யெரொபெயாமின் வீட்டாரில் இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக அவனிடத்திலே நல்ல காரியம் காணப்பட்டதினால், யெரொபெயாமின் சந்ததியில் அவன் ஒருவனே கல்லறைக்குட்படுவான்.

And all Israel shall mourn for him, and bury him: for he only of Jeroboam shall come to the grave, because in him there is found some good thing toward the LORD God of Israel in the house of Jeroboam.

ஆனாலும் கர்த்தர் தமக்கு இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் ஒரு ராஜாவை எழும்பப்பண்ணுவார்; அவன் அந்நாளிலே யெரொபெயாமின் வீட்டாரைச் சங்கரிப்பான்; இப்போதே இது நடந்தேறும்.

Moreover the LORD shall raise him up a king over Israel, who shall cut off the house of Jeroboam that day: but what? even now.

தண்ணீரிலே நாணல் அசைகிறதுபோல, கர்த்தர் இஸ்ரவேலை முறிந்தசையப்பண்ணி, அவர்கள் பிதாக்களுக்குத் தாம் கொடுத்த இந்த நல்ல தேசத்திலிருந்து இஸ்ரவேலை வேரோடே பிடுங்கி, அவர்கள் தங்களுக்கு தோப்பு விக்கிரகங்களை வைத்து, கர்த்தருக்குக் கோபம் உண்டாக்கினபடியினால், அவர்களை நதிக்கப்பாலே சிதறடித்து,

For the LORD shall smite Israel, as a reed is shaken in the water, and he shall root up Israel out of this good land, which he gave to their fathers, and shall scatter them beyond the river, because they have made their groves, provoking the LORD to anger.

யெரொபெயாம் செய்ததும் இஸ்ரவேலைச் செய்யப்பண்ணினதுமான பாவத்தினிமித்தம் இஸ்ரவேலை ஒப்புக்கொடுத்துவிடுவார் என்றான்.

And he shall give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, who did sin, and who made Israel to sin.

அப்பொழுது யெரொபெயாமின் மனைவி எழுந்து புறப்பட்டு திர்சாவுக்கு வந்தாள்; அவள் வாசற்படியிலே வருகையில் பிள்ளையாண்டான் செத்துப்போனான்.

And Jeroboam's wife arose, and departed, and came to Tirzah: and when she came to the threshold of the door, the child died;

கர்த்தர் தீர்க்கதரிசியாகிய அகியா என்னும் தமது ஊழியக்காரனைக் கொண்டு சொன்ன வார்த்தையின்படியே, அவர்கள் அவனை அடக்கம்பண்ணி, இஸ்ரவேலர் எல்லாரும் அவனுக்காகத் துக்கங்கொண்டாடினார்கள்.

And they buried him; and all Israel mourned for him, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by the hand of his servant Ahijah the prophet.

யெரொபெயாம் யுத்தம்பண்ணினதும் ஆண்டதுமான அவனுடைய மற்ற வர்த்தமானங்கள் இஸ்ரவேல் ராஜாக்களின் நாளாகமப் புஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிறது.

And the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, how he warred, and how he reigned, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

யெரொபெயாம் ராஜ்யபாரம்பண்ணின காலம் இருபத்திரண்டு வருஷம்; அவன் தன் பிதாக்களோடே நித்திரையடைந்தபின், அவன் குமாரனாகிய நாதாப் அவன் ஸ்தானத்தில் ராஜாவானான்.

And the days which Jeroboam reigned were two and twenty years: and he slept with his fathers, and Nadab his son reigned in his stead.

சாலொமோனின் குமாரனாகிய ரெகொபெயாம் யூதாவிலே ராஜ்யபாரம்பண்ணினான்; ரெகொபெயாம் ராஜாவாகிறபோது நாற்பத்தொரு வயதாயிருந்து, கர்த்தர் தம்முடைய நாமம் விளங்கும்படி இஸ்ரவேல் கோத்திரங்களிலெல்லாம் தெரிந்துகொண்ட நகரமாகிய எருசலேமிலே பதினேழு வருஷம் ராஜ்யபாரம் பண்ணினான்; அம்மோன் ஜாதியான அவனுடைய தாயின் பேர் நாமாள்.

And Rehoboam the son of Solomon reigned in Judah. Rehoboam was forty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD did choose out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. And his mother's name was Naamah an Ammonitess.

யூதா ஜனங்கள் கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்து, தாங்கள் செய்து வருகிற தங்களுடைய பாவங்களினால் தங்கள் பிதாக்கள் செய்த எல்லாவற்றைப்பார்க்கிலும் அவருக்கு அதிக எரிச்சலை மூட்டினார்கள்.

And Judah did evil in the sight of the LORD, and they provoked him to jealousy with their sins which they had committed, above all that their fathers had done.

அவர்களும் உயர்ந்த சகல மேட்டின் மேலும், பச்சையான சகல மரத்தின் கீழும், மேடைகளையும் சிலைகளையும் தோப்புவிக்கிரகங்களையும் தங்களுக்கு உண்டாக்கினார்கள்.

For they also built them high places, and images, and groves, on every high hill, and under every green tree.

தேசத்திலே இலச்சையான புணர்ச்சிக்காரரும் இருந்தார்கள்; கர்த்தர் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்கு முன்பாகத் துரத்திவிட்ட ஜாதிகளுடைய அருவருப்புகளின்படியெல்லாம் செய்தார்கள்.

And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.

ரெகொபெயாம் ராஜ்யபாரம்பண்ணும் ஐந்தாம் வருஷத்திலே, எகிப்தின் ராஜாவாகிய சீஷாக் எருசலேமுக்கு விரோதமாய் வந்து,

And it came to pass in the fifth year of king Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem:

கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் பொக்கிஷங்களையும், ராஜாவுடைய அரமனையின் பொக்கிஷங்களையும், சாலொமோன் செய்வித்த பொன் பரிசைகள் ஆகிய சகலத்தையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு போய்விட்டான்.

And he took away the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house; he even took away all: and he took away all the shields of gold which Solomon had made.

அவைகளுக்குப் பதிலாக ராஜாவாகிய ரெகொபெயாம் வெண்கலப் பரிசைகளைச் செய்வித்து, அவைகளை ராஜாவின் வாசற்படியைக் காக்கிற சேவகருடைய தலைவரின் கையில் ஒப்புவித்தான்.

And king Rehoboam made in their stead brasen shields, and committed them unto the hands of the chief of the guard, which kept the door of the king's house.

ராஜா கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்துக்குள் பிரவேசிக்கும்போது, அரமனைச்சேவகர் அவைகளைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோய், திரும்பத் தங்கள் அறையிலே வைப்பார்கள்.

And it was so, when the king went into the house of the LORD, that the guard bare them, and brought them back into the guard chamber.

ரெகொபெயாமின் மற்ற வர்த்தமானங்களும், அவன் செய்தவை யாவும், யூதாவுடைய ராஜாக்களின் நாளாகமப் புஸ்தகத்தில் அல்லவோ எழுதியிருக்கிறது.

Now the rest of the acts of Rehoboam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

ரெகொபெயாமுக்கும் யெரொபெயாமுக்கும் அவர்கள் இருந்த நாட்களிலெல்லாம் யுத்தம் நடந்துகொண்டிருந்தது.

And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all their days.

ரெகொபெயாம் தன் பிதாக்களோடே நித்திரையடைந்து, தாவீதின் நகரத்தில் தன் பிதாக்களண்டையில் அடக்கம் பண்ணப்பட்டான்; அம்மோன் ஜாதியான அவன் தாய்க்கு நாமாள் என்று பேர்; அவன் குமாரனாகிய அபியாம் அவன் ஸ்தானத்தில் ராஜாவானான்.

And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And his mother's name was Naamah an Ammonitess. And Abijam his son reigned in his stead.

1இராஜாக்கள் அத்தியாயம் 15

நேபாத்தின் குமாரனாகிய யெரொபெயாம் என்னும் ராஜாவின் பதினெட்டாம் வருஷத்திலே அபியாம் யூதாவின் மேல் ராஜாவாகி,

Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat reigned Abijam over Judah.

மூன்று வருஷம் எருசலேமில் ராஜ்யபாரம்பண்ணினான்; அப்சலோமின் குமாரத்தியாகிய அவனுடைய தாயின் பேர் மாகாள்.

Three years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.

தன் தகப்பன் தனக்கு முன்செய்த எல்லாப் பாவங்களிலும் அவன் நடந்தான்; அவன் இருதயம் அவன் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீதின் இருதயத்தைப்போல், தன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக உத்தமமாயிருக்கவில்லை.

And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father.

ஆனாலும் தாவீதினிமித்தம் அவனுடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர், அவனுக்குப் பிற்பாடு அவன் குமாரனை எழும்பப்பண்ணுகிறதினாலும், எருசலேமை நிலைநிறுத்துகிறதினாலும், அவனுக்கு எருசலேமில் ஒரு விளக்கைக் கட்டளையிட்டு வந்தார்.

Nevertheless for David's sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem:

தாவீது ஏத்தியனாகிய உரியாவின் சங்கதி ஒன்று தவிர கர்த்தர் தனக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டதிலே தான் உயிரோடிருந்த நாளெல்லாம் ஒன்றையும் விட்டு விலகாமல், அவர் பார்வைக்குச் செம்மையானதைச் செய்து வந்தான்.

Because David did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, and turned not aside from any thing that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.

ரெகொபெயாமுக்கும், யெரொபெயாமுக்கும் அவர்கள் இருந்த நாட்களிலெல்லாம் யுத்தம் நடந்துகொண்டிருந்தது.

And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.

அபியாமின் மற்ற வர்த்தமானங்களும், அவன் செய்தவை யாவும் யூதாவுடைய ராஜாக்களின் நாளாகமப் புஸ்தகத்தில் அல்லவோ எழுதியிருக்கிறது; அபியாமுக்கும் யெரொபெயாமுக்கும் யுத்தம் நடந்துகொண்டிருந்தது.

Now the rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.

அபியாம் தன் பிதாக்களோடே நித்திரையடைந்தபின், அவனைத் தாவீதின் நகரத்தில் அடக்கம்பண்ணினார்கள்; அவன் குமாரனாகிய ஆசா அவன் ஸ்தானத்தில் ராஜாவானான்.

And Abijam slept with his fathers; and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead.

இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய யெரொபெயாமின் இருபதாம் வருஷத்திலே ஆசா யூதாவின்மேல் ராஜாவாகி,

And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel reigned Asa over Judah.

நாற்பத்தொரு வருஷம் எருசலேமில் ராஜ்யபாரம்பண்ணினான்; அப்சலோமின் குமாரத்தியாகிய அவனுடைய தாயின் பேர் மாகாள்.

And forty and one years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.

ஆசா தன் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீதைப்போல் கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குச் செம்மையானதைச் செய்தான்.

And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, as did David his father.

அவன் இலச்சையான புணர்ச்சிக்காரரை தேசத்திலிருந்து அகற்றி, தன் பிதாக்கள் உண்டுபண்ணின நரகலான விக்கிரகங்களையெல்லாம் விலக்கி,

And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.

தோப்பிலே அருவருப்பான விக்கிரகத்தை உண்டுபண்ணின தன் தாயாகிய மாகாளையும் ராஜாத்தியாய் இராதபடிக்கு விலக்கிவிட்டான்; அவளுடைய விக்கிரகத்தையும் ஆசா நிர்மூலமாக்கி, கீதரோன் ஆற்றண்டையிலே சுட்டெரித்துப்போட்டான்.

And also Maachah his mother, even her he removed from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove; and Asa destroyed her idol, and burnt it by the brook Kidron.

மேடைகளோ தகர்க்கப்படவில்லை; ஆனாலும் ஆசா உயிரோடிருந்த நாளெல்லாம் அவன் இருதயம் கர்த்தரோடே உத்தமமாயிருந்தது.

But the high places were not removed: nevertheless Asa's heart was perfect with the LORD all his days.

தன் தகப்பனும் தானும் பரிசுத்தப்படுத்தும்படி நேர்ந்துகொண்ட வெள்ளியையும் பொன்னையும் பணிமுட்டுகளையும் அவன் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திலே கொண்டுவந்தான்.

And he brought in the things which his father had dedicated, and the things which himself had dedicated, into the house of the LORD, silver, and gold, and vessels.

ஆசாவுக்கும் இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய பாஷாவுக்கும் அவர்களுடைய நாட்களிலெல்லாம் யுத்தம் நடந்துகொண்டிருந்தது.

And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.

ஒருவரும் யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய ஆசாவினிடத்தில் போக்குவரத்தாயிராதபடிக்கு, இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய பாஷா யூதாவுக்கு விரோதமாக வந்து ராமாவைக் கட்டினான்.

And Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not suffer any to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.

அப்பொழுது ஆசா கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் பொக்கிஷங்களில் மீதியான எல்லா வெள்ளியையும் பொன்னையும், ராஜாவின் அரமனையின் பொக்கிஷங்களையும் எடுத்து, அவைகளைத் தன் ஊழியக்காரர் கையிலே தமஸ்குவில் வாசமாயிருக்கிற எசியோனின் மகனாகிய தப்ரிமோனின் குமாரன் பெனாதாத் என்னும் சீரியாவின் ராஜாவுக்குக் கொடுத்தனுப்பி:

Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants: and king Asa sent them to Benhadad, the son of Tabrimon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,

எனக்கும் உமக்கும் என் தகப்பனுக்கும் உம்முடைய தகப்பனுக்கும் உடன்படிக்கை உண்டே; இதோ, உமக்கு வெகுமதியாய் வெள்ளியையும் பொன்னையும் அனுப்புகிறேன்; இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய பாஷா என்னைவிட்டு விலகிப்போகும்படிக்கு, நீர் வந்து அவனோடு செய்த உடன்படிக்கையைத் தள்ளிப்போடும் என்று சொல்லச்சொன்னான்.

There is a league between me and thee, and between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee a present of silver and gold; come and break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.

பெனாதாத், ராஜாவாகிய ஆசாவுக்குச் செவிகொடுத்து, தனக்கு உண்டான சேனாபதிகளை இஸ்ரவேலின் பட்டணங்களுக்கு விரோதமாக அனுப்பி, ஈயோனையும், தாணையும் பெத்மாக்கா என்னும் ஆபேலையும் கின்னரோத் அனைத்தையும் நப்தலியின் முழுத்தேசத்தோடுங்கூட முறிய அடித்தான்.

So Benhadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of the hosts which he had against the cities of Israel, and smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abelbethmaachah, and all Cinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.

பாஷா அதைக் கேட்டபோது, ராமாவைக் கட்டுகிறதைவிட்டு திர்சாவிலிருந்து விட்டான்.

And it came to pass, when Baasha heard thereof, that he left off building of Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.

அப்பொழுது ராஜாவாகிய ஆசா யூதா எங்கும் ஒருவரும் தப்பாமல் எல்லாரும் போய், பாஷா கட்டின ராமாவின் கற்களையும் அதின் மரங்களையும் எடுத்துவர பறைமுறை இடுவித்து; அவைகளினால் பென்யமீன் கோத்திரத்திலுள்ள கேபாவையும் மிஸ்பாவையும் கட்டினான்.

Then king Asa made a proclamation throughout all Judah; none was exempted: and they took away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha had builded; and king Asa built with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.

The rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? Nevertheless in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.

And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead.

யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய ஆசாவின் இரண்டாம் வருஷத்திலே யெரொபெயாமின் குமாரனாகிய நாதாப் இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் ராஜாவாகி, இரண்டு வருஷம் இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் ராஜ்யபாரம்பண்ணினான்.

And Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned over Israel two years.

அவன் கர்த்தருடைய பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்து, தன் தகப்பன் வழியிலும், அவன் இஸ்ரவேலைப் பாவஞ்செய்யப்பண்ணின அவனுடைய பாவத்திலும் நடந்தான்.

And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.

And Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Baasha smote him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines; for Nadab and all Israel laid siege to Gibbethon.

பாஷா யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய ஆசாவின் மூன்றாம் வருஷத்திலே அவனைக் கொன்றுபோட்டபின், அவன் ஸ்தானத்தில் ராஜாவானான்.

Even in the third year of Asa king of Judah did Baasha slay him, and reigned in his stead.

அப்பொழுது யெரொபெயாம் செய்ததும், இஸ்ரவேலைச் செய்யப்பண்ணினதுமான பாவங்களினிமித்தமும், அவன் இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு உண்டாக்கின கோபத்தினிமித்தமும், கர்த்தர் சீலோனியனான அகியா என்னும் தமது ஊழியக்காரனைக்கொண்டு சொல்லியிருந்த வார்த்தையின்படியே,

And it came to pass, when he reigned, that he smote all the house of Jeroboam; he left not to Jeroboam any that breathed, until he had destroyed him, according unto the saying of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite:

அவன் ராஜாவானபின் அவன் யெரொபெயாமின் வீட்டாரையெல்லாம் வெட்டிப்போட்டான்; யெரொபெயாமுக்கு இருந்த சுவாசமுள்ளதொன்றையும் அவன் அழிக்காமல் விடவில்லை.

Because of the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and which he made Israel sin, by his provocation wherewith he provoked the LORD God of Israel to anger.

நாதாபின் மற்ற வர்த்தமானங்களும் அவன் செய்தவை யாவும் இஸ்ரவேல் ராஜாக்களின் நாளாகமப் புஸ்தகத்தில் அல்லவோ எழுதியிருக்கிறது.

Now the rest of the acts of Nadab, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

ஆசாவுக்கும் இஸ்ரவேல் ராஜாவாகிய பாஷாவுக்கும் அவர்கள் நாட்களிலெல்லாம் யுத்தம் நடந்து கொண்டிருந்தது.

And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.

யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய ஆசாவின் மூன்றாம் வருஷத்திலே அகியாவின் குமாரனாகிய பாஷா, இஸ்ரவேலனைத்தின் மேலும் திர்சாவிலே ராஜாவாகி இருபத்து நாலு வருஷம் ஆண்டு,

In the third year of Asa king of Judah began Baasha the son of Ahijah to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty and four years.

கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்து, யெரொபெயாமின் வழியிலும், அவன் இஸ்ரவேலைப் பாவஞ்செய்யப்பண்ணின அவனுடைய பாவத்திலும் நடந்தான்.

And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.

Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

சுவிசேஷம் உங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்ட நாள்முதல் இதுவரைக்கும் நீங்கள் அதற்கு உடன்பட்டவர்களானபடியால்,

I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,

Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,

For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.

For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.

And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;

தேவனுக்கு மகிமையும் துதியும் உண்டாகும்படி இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவினால் வருகிற நீதியின் கனிகளால் நிறைந்தவர்களாகி,

That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;

Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

சகோதரரே, எனக்குச் சம்பவித்தவைகள் சுவிசேஷம் பிரபலமாகும்படிக்கு ஏதுவாயிற்றென்று நீங்கள் அறிய மனதாயிருக்கிறேன்.

But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel;

அரமனையெங்குமுள்ளவர்களுக்கும் மற்ற யாவருக்கும் என் கட்டுகள் கிறிஸ்துவுக்குள்ளான கட்டுகளென்று வெளியரங்கமாகி,

So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places;

சகோதரரில் அநேகர் என் கட்டுகளாலே கர்த்தருக்குள் திடன்கொண்டு பயமில்லாமல் திருவசனத்தைச் சொல்லும்படி அதிகமாய்த் துணிந்திருக்கிறார்கள்.

And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.

சிலர் பொறாமையினாலும் விரோதத்தினாலும், சிலர் நல்மனதினாலும் கிறிஸ்துவைப் பிரசங்கிக்கிறார்கள்.

Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:

சிலர் என் கட்டுகளோடே உபத்திரவத்தையுங்கூட்ட நினைத்து, சுத்தமனதோடே கிறிஸ்துவை அறிவியாமல், விரோதத்தினாலே அறிவிக்கிறார்கள்.

The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:

சுவிசேஷத்திற்காக நான் உத்தரவு சொல்ல ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்டவனென்று அறிந்து, சிலர் அன்பினாலே அறிவிக்கிறார்கள்.

But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.

இதனாலென்ன? வஞ்சகத்தினாலாவது, உண்மையினாலாவது, எப்படியாவது, கிறிஸ்து அறிவிக்கப்படுகிறார்; அதனால் சந்தோஷப்படுகிறேன், இன்னமும் சந்தோஷப்படுவேன்.

What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

அது உங்கள் வேண்டுதலினாலும் இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவினுடைய ஆவியின் உதவியினாலும் எனக்கு இரட்சிப்பாக முடியுமென்று அறிவேன்.

For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

நான் ஒன்றிலும் வெட்கப்பட்டுப்போகாமல், எப்பொழுதும்போல இப்பொழுதும், மிகுந்த தைரியத்தோடே ஜீவனாலாகிலும், சாவினாலாகிலும், கிறிஸ்து என் சரீரத்தினாலே மகிமைப்படுவாரென்று எனக்கு உண்டாயிருக்கிற வாஞ்சைக்கும் நம்பிக்கைக்கும் தக்கதாய், அப்படி முடியும்.

According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.

கிறிஸ்து எனக்கு ஜீவன், சாவு எனக்கு ஆதாயம்.

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

ஆகிலும் சரீரத்தில் பிழைத்திருக்கிறதினாலே என் கிரியைக்குப் பலனுண்டாயிருப்பதால், நான் தெரிந்துகொள்ளவேண்டியது இன்னதென்று அறியேன்.

But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.

ஏனெனில் இவ்விரண்டினாலும் நான் நெருக்கப்படுகிறேன்; தேகத்தைவிட்டுப்பிரிந்து, கிறிஸ்துவுடனேகூட இருக்க எனக்கு ஆசையுண்டு, அது அதிக நன்மையாயிருக்கும்;

For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:

அப்படியிருந்தும், நான் சரீரத்தில் தரித்திருப்பது உங்களுக்கு அதிக அவசியம்.

Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.

And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith;

Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

நீங்கள் மருளாதிருக்கிறது அவர்கள் கெட்டுப்போகிறதற்கும், நீங்கள் இரட்சிக்கப்படுகிறதற்கும் அத்தாட்சியாயிருக்கிறது; இதுவும் தேவனுடைய செயலே.

And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.

For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

Having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me.

பிலிப்பியர் அத்தியாயம் 2

ஆதலால் கிறிஸ்துவுக்குள் யாதொரு ஆறுதலும், அன்பினாலே யாதொரு தேறுதலும், ஆவியின் யாதொரு ஐக்கியமும், யாதொரு உருக்கமான பட்சமும் இரக்கங்களும் உண்டானால்,

If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

அவனவன் தனக்கானவைகளையல்ல, பிறருக்கானவைகளையும் நோக்குவானாக.

Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவிலிருந்த சிந்தையே உங்களிலும் இருக்கக்கடவது;

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

அவர் தேவனுடைய ரூபமாயிருந்தும், தேவனுக்குச் சமமாயிருப்பதைக் கொள்ளையாடின பொருளாக எண்ணாமல்,

Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

தம்மைத்தாமே வெறுமையாக்கி, அடிமையின் ரூபமெடுத்து, மனுஷர் சாயலானார்.

But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

அவர் மனுஷரூபமாய்க் காணப்பட்டு, மரணபரியந்தம், அதாவது சிலுவையின் மரணபரியந்தமும் கீழ்ப்படிந்தவராகி, தம்மைத்தாமே தாழ்த்தினார்.

And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

ஆதலால் தேவன் எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் மேலாக அவரை உயர்த்தி,

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

இயேசுவின் நாமத்தில் வானோர் பூதலத்தோர் பூமியின் கீழானோருடைய முழங்கால் யாவும் முடங்கும்படிக்கும்,

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

பிதாவாகிய தேவனுக்கு மகிமையாக இயேசுகிறிஸ்து கர்த்தரென்று நாவுகள் யாவும் அறிக்கைபண்ணும்படிக்கும், எல்லா நாமத்திற்கும் மேலான நாமத்தை அவருக்குத் தந்தருளினார்.

And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

ஆதலால், எனக்குப் பிரியமானவர்களே, நீங்கள் எப்பொழுதும் கீழ்ப்படிகிறபடியே, நான் உங்களுக்குச் சமீபமாயிருக்கும்பொழுது மாத்திரமல்ல, நான் தூரமாயிருக்கிற இப்பொழுதும், அதிக பயத்தோடும் நடுக்கத்தோடும் உங்கள் இரட்சிப்பு நிறைவேறப் பிரயாசப்படுங்கள்.

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

கோணலும் மாறுபாடுமான சந்ததியின் நடுவிலே குற்றமற்றவர்களும் கபடற்றவர்களும், தேவனுடைய மாசற்ற பிள்ளைகளுமாயிருக்கும்படிக்கு,

That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

எல்லாவற்றையும் முறுமுறுப்பில்லாமலும் தர்க்கிப்பில்லாமலும் செய்யுங்கள்.

Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

மேலும், உங்கள் விசுவாசமாகிய பலியின்மேலும் ஊழியத்தின்மேலும் நான் வார்க்கப்பட்டுப்போனாலும், நான் மகிழ்ந்து, உங்களனைவரோடுங்கூடச் சந்தோஷப்படுவேன்.

Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all.

For the same cause also do ye joy, and rejoice with me.

அன்றியும், நானும் உங்கள் செய்திகளை அறிந்து மனத்தேறுதல் அடையும்படிக்குச் சீக்கிரமாய்த் தீமோத்தேயுவை உங்களிடத்தில் அனுப்பலாமென்று கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுவுக்குள் நம்பியிருக்கிறேன்.

But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state.

அதேனென்றால், உங்கள் காரியங்களை உண்மையாய் விசாரிக்கிறதற்கு என்னைப்போல மனதுள்ளவன் அவனையன்றி வேறொருவனும் என்னிடத்திலில்லை.

For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state.

மற்றவர்களெல்லாரும் கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவுக்குரியவைகளைத் தேடாமல், தங்களுக்குரியவைகளையே தேடுகிறார்கள்.

For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's.

தகப்பனுக்குப் பிள்ளை ஊழியஞ்செய்வதுபோல, அவன் என்னுடனேகூட சுவிசேஷத்தினிமித்தம் ஊழியஞ்செய்தானென்று அவனுடைய உத்தமகுணத்தை அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்கள்.

But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel.

ஆகையால் என் காரியங்கள் இன்னபடி நடக்கும் என்று நான் அறிந்தவுடனே அவனை அனுப்பலாமென்று நினைத்திருக்கிறேன்.

Him therefore I hope to send presently, so soon as I shall see how it will go with me.

அன்றியும் நானே சீக்கிரத்தில் வருவேனென்று கர்த்தருக்குள் நம்பிக்கையாயிருக்கிறேன்.

But I trust in the Lord that I also myself shall come shortly.

Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.

For he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that he had been sick.

அவன் வியாதிப்பட்டு மரணத்திற்குச் சமீபமாயிருந்தது மெய்தான். ஆகிலும், தேவன் அவனுக்கு இரங்கினார்; அவனுக்கு இரங்கினதுமல்லாமல், துக்கத்தின்மேல் துக்கம் எனக்கு உண்டாகாதபடிக்கு, எனக்கும் இரங்கினார்.

For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.

ஆகையால் நீங்கள் அவனை மறுபடியும் கண்டு சந்தோஷப்படவும், என் துக்கங்குறையவும், அவனை அதிசீக்கிரமாய் அனுப்பினேன்.

I sent him therefore the more carefully, that, when ye see him again, ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.

ஆனபடியினாலே நீங்கள் கர்த்தருக்குள் மிகுந்த சந்தோஷத்தோடே அவனை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு, இப்படிப்பட்டவர்களைக் கனமாய் எண்ணுங்கள்.

Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness; and hold such in reputation:

ஏனெனில் நீங்கள் எனக்குச் செய்யவேண்டிய ஊழியத்திலே உங்கள் குறைவை நிறைவாக்கும்படிக்கு, அவன் தன் பிராணனையும் எண்ணாமல், கிறிஸ்துவின் ஊழியத்தினிமித்தம் மரணத்திற்குச் சமீபமாயிருந்தான்.

Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.
