1சாமுவேல் அத்தியாயம் 11

அக்காலத்தில் நாகாஸ் என்னும் அம்மோனியன் வந்து, கீலேயாத்திலிருக்கிற யாபேசை முற்றிக்கைபோட்டான்; அப்பொழுது யாபேசின் மனுஷர் எல்லாரும் நாகாசை நோக்கி: எங்களோடே உடன்படிக்கைபண்ணும்; அப்பொழுது உம்மைச் சேவிப்போம் என்றார்கள்.

Then Nahash the Ammonite came up, and encamped against Jabeshgilead: and all the men of Jabesh said unto Nahash, Make a covenant with us, and we will serve thee.

அதற்கு அம்மோனியனாகிய நாகாஸ்: நான் உங்கள் ஒவ்வொருவருடைய வலது கண்ணையும் பிடுங்கி, இதினாலே இஸ்ரவேல் எல்லாவற்றின்மேலும் நிந்தைவரப்பண்ணுவதே நான் உங்களோடே பண்ணும் உடன்படிக்கை என்றான்.

And Nahash the Ammonite answered them, On this condition will I make a covenant with you, that I may thrust out all your right eyes, and lay it for a reproach upon all Israel.

அதற்கு யாபேசின் மூப்பர்கள்: நாங்கள் இஸ்ரவேல் நாடெங்கும் ஸ்தானாபதிகளை அனுப்பும்படி, ஏழு நாள் எங்களுக்குத் தவணைகொடும், எங்களை இரட்சிப்பார் இல்லாவிட்டால், அப்பொழுது உம்மிடத்தில் வருவோம் என்றார்கள்.

And the elders of Jabesh said unto him, Give us seven days' respite, that we may send messengers unto all the coasts of Israel: and then, if there be no man to save us, we will come out to thee.

அந்த ஸ்தானாபதிகள் சவுலின் ஊராகிய கிபியாவிலே வந்து, ஜனங்களின் காது கேட்க அந்தச் செய்திகளைச் சொன்னார்கள்; அப்பொழுது ஜனங்களெல்லாரும் சத்தமிட்டு அழுதார்கள்.

Then came the messengers to Gibeah of Saul, and told the tidings in the ears of the people: and all the people lifted up their voices, and wept.

இதோ, சவுல் மாடுகளின் பின்னாலே வயலிலிருந்து வந்து, ஜனங்கள் அழுகிற முகாந்தரம் என்ன என்று கேட்டான்; யாபேசின் மனுஷர் சொல்லிய செய்திகளை அவனுக்குத் தெரிவித்தார்கள்.

And, behold, Saul came after the herd out of the field; and Saul said, What aileth the people that they weep? And they told him the tidings of the men of Jabesh.

சவுல் இந்தச் செய்திகளைக் கேட்டவுடனே, தேவனுடைய ஆவி அவன்மேல் இறங்கினதினால் அவன் மிகவும் கோபம் மூண்டவனாகி,

And the Spirit of God came upon Saul when he heard those tidings, and his anger was kindled greatly.

ஓரிணைமாட்டைப் பிடித்து, துண்டித்து, அந்த ஸ்தானாபதிகள் கையிலே கொடுத்து, இஸ்ரவேலின் நாடுகளுக்கெல்லாம் அனுப்பி: சவுலின் பின்னாலேயும், சாமுவேலின் பின்னாலேயும் புறப்படாதவன் எவனோ, அவனுடைய மாடுகளுக்கு இப்படிச் செய்யப்படும் என்று சொல்லியனுப்பினான்; அப்பொழுது கர்த்தரால் உண்டான பயங்கரம் ஜனத்தின்மேல் வந்ததினால், ஒருமனப்பட்டுப் புறப்பட்டு வந்தார்கள்.

And he took a yoke of oxen, and hewed them in pieces, and sent them throughout all the coasts of Israel by the hands of messengers, saying, Whosoever cometh not forth after Saul and after Samuel, so shall it be done unto his oxen. And the fear of the LORD fell on the people, and they came out with one consent.

அவர்களைப் பேசேக்கிலே இலக்கம் பார்த்தான்; இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரில் மூன்று லட்சம்பேரும், யூதா மனுஷரில் முப்பதினாயிரம்பேரும் இருந்தார்கள்.

And when he numbered them in Bezek, the children of Israel were three hundred thousand, and the men of Judah thirty thousand.

வந்த ஸ்தானாபதிகளை அவர்கள் நோக்கி: நாளைக்கு வெயில் ஏறுகிறதற்கு முன்னே உங்களுக்கு இரட்சிப்புக் கிடைக்கும் என்று கீலேயாத்திலிருக்கிற யாபேசின் மனுஷருக்குச் சொல்லுங்கள் என்றார்கள்; ஸ்தானாபதிகள் வந்து யாபேசின் மனுஷரிடத்தில் அதை அறிவித்தார்கள்; அதற்கு அவர்கள் சந்தோஷப்பட்டார்கள்.

And they said unto the messengers that came, Thus shall ye say unto the men of Jabeshgilead, To morrow, by that time the sun be hot, ye shall have help. And the messengers came and shewed it to the men of Jabesh; and they were glad.

பின்பு யாபேசின் மனுஷர்: நாளைக்கு உங்களிடத்தில் வருவோம், அப்பொழுது உங்கள் இஷ்டப்படியெல்லாம் எங்களுக்குச் செய்யுங்கள் என்றார்கள்.

Therefore the men of Jabesh said, To morrow we will come out unto you, and ye shall do with us all that seemeth good unto you.

மறுநாளிலே சவுல் ஜனங்களை மூன்று படையாக வகுத்து, கிழக்கு வெளுத்துவரும் ஜாமத்தில் பாளயத்திற்குள் வந்து வெயில் ஏறும்வரைக்கும் அம்மோனியரை முறிய அடித்தான்; தப்பினவர்களில் இரண்டுபேராகிலும் சேர்ந்து ஓடிப்போகாதபடி எல்லாரும் சிதறிப்போனார்கள்.

And it was so on the morrow, that Saul put the people in three companies; and they came into the midst of the host in the morning watch, and slew the Ammonites until the heat of the day: and it came to pass, that they which remained were scattered, so that two of them were not left together.

அப்பொழுது ஜனங்கள் சாமுவேலை நோக்கி: சவுலா நமக்கு ராஜாவாயிருக்கப்போகிறவன் என்று சொன்னவர்கள் யார்? அந்த மனுஷரை நாங்கள் கொன்றுபோடும்படிக்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுங்கள் என்றார்கள்.

And the people said unto Samuel, Who is he that said, Shall Saul reign over us? bring the men, that we may put them to death.

அதற்குச் சவுல்: இன்றையதினம் ஒருவரும் கொல்லப்படலாகாது; இன்று கர்த்தர் இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு இரட்சிப்பை அருளினார் என்றான்.

And Saul said, There shall not a man be put to death this day: for to day the LORD hath wrought salvation in Israel.

அப்பொழுது சாமுவேல் ஜனங்களை நோக்கி: நாம் கில்காலுக்குப் போய், அங்கே ராஜ்யபாரத்தை ஸ்திரப்படுத்துவோம் வாருங்கள் என்றான்.

Then said Samuel to the people, Come, and let us go to Gilgal, and renew the kingdom there.

அப்படியே ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் கில்காலுக்குப் போய், அவ்விடத்திலே கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் சவுலை ராஜாவாக ஏற்படுத்தி, அங்கே கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் சமாதானபலிகளைச் செலுத்தி, அங்கே சவுலும் இஸ்ரவேல் மனுஷர் யாவரும் மிகவும் சந்தோஷங்கொண்டாடினார்கள்.

And all the people went to Gilgal; and there they made Saul king before the LORD in Gilgal; and there they sacrificed sacrifices of peace offerings before the LORD; and there Saul and all the men of Israel rejoiced greatly.

1சாமுவேல் அத்தியாயம் 12

அப்பொழுது சாமுவேல் இஸ்ரவேலர் அனைவரையும் நோக்கி: இதோ, நீங்கள் எனக்குச் சொன்னபடியெல்லாம் உங்கள் சொற்கேட்டு உங்களுக்கு ஒரு ராஜாவை ஏற்படுத்தினேன்.

And Samuel said unto all Israel, Behold, I have hearkened unto your voice in all that ye said unto me, and have made a king over you.

இப்போதும் இதோ, ராஜாவானவர் உங்களுக்கு முன்பாகச் சஞ்சரித்துவருகிறார்; நானோ கிழவனும் நரைத்தவனுமானேன்; என் குமாரர் உங்களோடிருப்பார்கள்; நான் என் சிறுவயதுமுதல் இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் உங்களுக்கு முன்பாகச் சஞ்சரித்துவந்தேன்.

And now, behold, the king walketh before you: and I am old and grayheaded; and, behold, my sons are with you: and I have walked before you from my childhood unto this day.

இதோ, இருக்கிறேன்; கர்த்தரின் சந்நிதியிலும் அவர் அபிஷேகம்பண்ணி வைத்தவருக்கு முன்பாகவும் என்னைக்குறித்துச் சாட்சி சொல்லுங்கள்; நான் யாருடைய எருதை எடுத்துக்கொண்டேன்? யாருடைய கழுதையை எடுத்துக்கொண்டேன்? யாருக்கு அநியாயஞ்செய்தேன்? யாருக்கு இடுக்கண் செய்தேன்? யார் கையில் பரிதானம் வாங்கிக்கொண்டு கண்சாடையாயிருந்தேன்? சொல்லுங்கள்; அப்படியுண்டானால் அதை உங்களுக்குத் திரும்பக் கொடுப்பேன் என்றான்.

Behold, here I am: witness against me before the LORD, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I received any bribe to blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you.

அதற்கு அவர்கள்: நீர் எங்களுக்கு அநியாயஞ் செய்யவும் இல்லை; எங்களுக்கு இடுக்கண் செய்யவும் இல்லை; ஒருவர் கையிலும் ஒன்றும் வாங்கவும் இல்லை என்றார்கள்.

And they said, Thou hast not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither hast thou taken ought of any man's hand.

அதற்கு அவன்: நீங்கள் என் கையில் ஒன்றும் கண்டுபிடிக்கவில்லை என்பதற்குக் கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்கு எதிராகச் சாட்சியாயிருக்கிறார்; அவர் அபிஷேகம்பண்ணினவரும் இன்று அதற்குச் சாட்சி என்றான்; அதற்கு அவர்கள்: அவர் சாட்சிதான் என்றார்கள்.

And he said unto them, The LORD is witness against you, and his anointed is witness this day, that ye have not found ought in my hand. And they answered, He is witness.

அப்புறம் சாமுவேல் ஜனங்களை நோக்கி: மோசேயையும், ஆரோனையும், ஏற்படுத்தினவரும், உங்கள் பிதாக்களை எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணினவரும் கர்த்தரே.

And Samuel said unto the people, It is the LORD that advanced Moses and Aaron, and that brought your fathers up out of the land of Egypt.

இப்பொழுதும் கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்கும் உங்கள் பிதாக்களுக்கும் செய்துவந்த எல்லா நீதியான கிரியைகளைக்குறித்தும், நான் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் உங்களோடே நியாயம் பேசும்படிக்கு நீங்கள் நில்லுங்கள்.

Now therefore stand still, that I may reason with you before the LORD of all the righteous acts of the LORD, which he did to you and to your fathers.

யாக்கோபு எகிப்திலே போயிருக்கும்போது, உங்கள் பிதாக்கள் கர்த்தரை நோக்கி முறையிட்டார்கள், அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயையும், ஆரோனையும் அனுப்பினார்; அவர்கள் உங்கள் பிதாக்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து அழைத்துவந்து, அவர்களை இந்த ஸ்தலத்திலே குடியிருக்கப்பண்ணினார்கள்.

When Jacob was come into Egypt, and your fathers cried unto the LORD, then the LORD sent Moses and Aaron, which brought forth your fathers out of Egypt, and made them dwell in this place.

அவர்கள் தங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரை மறந்துபோகிறபோது, அவர் அவர்களை ஆத்சோரின் சேனாபதியாகிய சிசெராவின் கையிலும், பெலிஸ்தரின் கையிலும், மோவாபிய ராஜாவின் கையிலும் விற்றுப்போட்டார்; இவர்கள் அவர்களுக்கு விரோதமாக யுத்தம்பண்ணினார்கள்.

And when they forgat the LORD their God, he sold them into the hand of Sisera, captain of the host of Hazor, and into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the king of Moab, and they fought against them.

ஆகையால் அவர்கள் கர்த்தரை நோக்கி முறையிட்டு: நாங்கள் கர்த்தரை விட்டுப் பாகால்களையும் அஸ்தரோத்தையும் சேவித்ததினாலே, பாவஞ்செய்தோம்; இப்போதும் எங்கள் சத்துருக்களின் கைக்கு எங்களை நீங்கலாக்கி இரட்சியும்; இனி உம்மைச் சேவிப்போம் என்றார்கள்.

And they cried unto the LORD, and said, We have sinned, because we have forsaken the LORD, and have served Baalim and Ashtaroth: but now deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, and we will serve thee.

அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் எருபாகாலையும், பேதானையும், யெப்தாவையும் சாமுவேலையும் அனுப்பி, நீங்கள் பயமில்லாமல் குடியிருக்கும்படிக்குச் சுற்றிலும் இருந்த உங்கள் சத்துருக்களின் கைக்கும் உங்களை நீங்கலாக்கி இரட்சித்தார்.

And the LORD sent Jerubbaal, and Bedan, and Jephthah, and Samuel, and delivered you out of the hand of your enemies on every side, and ye dwelled safe.

அம்மோன் புத்திரரின் ராஜாவாகிய நாகாஸ் உங்களுக்கு விரோதமாய் வருகிறதை நீங்கள் கண்டபோது, உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரே உங்களுக்கு ராஜாவாயிருந்தும், நீங்கள் என்னை நோக்கி: அப்படியல்ல, ஒரு ராஜா எங்கள்மேல் ஆளவேண்டும் என்றீர்கள்.

And when ye saw that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon came against you, ye said unto me, Nay; but a king shall reign over us: when the LORD your God was your king.

இப்பொழுதும் நீங்கள் வேண்டும் என்று விரும்பித் தெரிந்துகொண்ட ராஜா, இதோ, இருக்கிறார்; இதோ, கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்கு ஒரு ராஜாவை ஏற்படுத்தினார்.

Now therefore behold the king whom ye have chosen, and whom ye have desired! and, behold, the LORD hath set a king over you.

நீங்கள் கர்த்தருடைய வாக்குக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கலகம்பண்ணாமல் கர்த்தருக்குப் பயந்து, அவரைச் சேவித்து, அவருடைய சத்தத்திற்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்தால், நீங்களும் உங்களை ஆளுகிற ராஜாவும் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரைப் பின்பற்றுகிறவர்களாயிருப்பீர்கள்.

If ye will fear the LORD, and serve him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth over you continue following the LORD your God:

நீங்கள் கர்த்தருடைய சத்தத்திற்குக் கீழ்ப்படியாமல், கர்த்தருடைய வாக்குக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கலகம் பண்ணினீர்களானால், கர்த்தருடைய கை உங்கள் பிதாக்களுக்கு விரோதமாயிருந்ததுபோல உங்களுக்கும் விரோதமாயிருக்கும்.

But if ye will not obey the voice of the LORD, but rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall the hand of the LORD be against you, as it was against your fathers.

இப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் உங்கள் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாகச் செய்யும் பெரிய காரியத்தை நின்று பாருங்கள்.

Now therefore stand and see this great thing, which the LORD will do before your eyes.

இன்று கோதுமை அறுப்பின் நாள் அல்லவா? நீங்கள் உங்களுக்கு ஒரு ராஜாவைக் கேட்டதினால், கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குச் செய்த உங்களுடைய பொல்லாப்புப் பெரியதென்று நீங்கள் கண்டு உணரும்படிக்கு, நான் கர்த்தரை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணுவேன்; அப்பொழுது இடிமுழக்கங்களையும் மழையையும் கட்டளையிடுவார் என்று சொல்லி,

Is it not wheat harvest to day? I will call unto the LORD, and he shall send thunder and rain; that ye may perceive and see that your wickedness is great, which ye have done in the sight of the LORD, in asking you a king.

சாமுவேல் கர்த்தரை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணினான்; அன்றையதினமே கர்த்தர் இடிமுழக்கங்களையும் மழையையும் கட்டளையிட்டார்; அப்பொழுது ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் கர்த்தருக்கும் சாமுவேலுக்கும் மிகவும் பயந்து;

So Samuel called unto the LORD; and the LORD sent thunder and rain that day: and all the people greatly feared the LORD and Samuel.

சாமுவேலைப் பார்த்து: நாங்கள் சாகாதபடிக்கு உம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரிடத்தில் உம்முடைய அடியாருக்காக விண்ணப்பம் செய்யும்; நாங்கள் செய்த எல்லாப் பாவங்களோடும் எங்களுக்கு ஒரு ராஜா வேண்டும் என்று கேட்ட இந்தப் பாவத்தையும் கூட்டிக்கொண்டோம் என்று ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் சொன்னார்கள்.

And all the people said unto Samuel, Pray for thy servants unto the LORD thy God, that we die not: for we have added unto all our sins this evil, to ask us a king.

அப்பொழுது சாமுவேல் ஜனங்களை நோக்கி: பயப்படாதேயுங்கள்; நீங்கள் இந்தப் பொல்லாப்பையெல்லாம் செய்தீர்கள்; ஆகிலும் கர்த்தரை விட்டுப் பின்வாங்காமல் கர்த்தரை உங்கள் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் சேவியுங்கள்.

And Samuel said unto the people, Fear not: ye have done all this wickedness: yet turn not aside from following the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart;

விலகிப்போகாதிருங்கள்; மற்றப்படி பிரயோஜனமற்றதும் இரட்சிக்கமாட்டாததுமாயிருக்கிற வீணானவைகளைப் பின்பற்றுவீர்கள்; அவைகள் வீணானவைகளே.

And turn ye not aside: for then should ye go after vain things, which cannot profit nor deliver; for they are vain.

கர்த்தர் உங்களைத் தமக்கு ஜனமாக்கிக்கொள்ளப் பிரியமானபடியினால், கர்த்தர் தம்முடைய மகத்துவமான நாமத்தினிமித்தம் தமது ஜனத்தைக் கைவிடமாட்டார்.

For the LORD will not forsake his people for his great name's sake: because it hath pleased the LORD to make you his people.

நானும் உங்களுக்காக விண்ணப்பம் செய்யாதிருப்பேனாகில் கர்த்தருக்கு விரோதமாகப் பாவஞ்செய்கிறவனாயிருப்பேன்; அது எனக்குத் தூரமாயிருப்பதாக; நன்மையும் செவ்வையுமான வழியை நான் உங்களுக்குப் போதிப்பேன்.

Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:

நீங்கள் எப்படியும் கர்த்தருக்குப் பயந்து, உங்கள் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் உண்மையாய் அவரைச் சேவிக்கக்கடவீர்கள்; அவர் உங்களிடத்தில் எவ்வளவு மகிமையான காரியங்களைச் செய்தார் என்பதைச் சிந்தித்துப்பாருங்கள்.

Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.

நீங்கள் இன்னும் பொல்லாப்பைச் செய்யவே செய்வீர்களானால், நீங்களும் உங்கள் ராஜாவும் நாசமடைவீர்கள் என்றான்.

But if ye shall still do wickedly, ye shall be consumed, both ye and your king.

ரோமர் அத்தியாயம் 2

ஆகையால், மற்றவர்களைக் குற்றவாளியாகத் தீர்க்கிறவனே, நீ யாரானாலும் சரி, போக்குச்சொல்ல உனக்கு இடமில்லை; நீ குற்றமாகத் தீர்க்கிறவைகள் எவைகளோ, அவைகளை நீயே செய்கிறபடியால், நீ மற்றவர்களைக்குறித்துச் சொல்லுகிற தீர்ப்பினாலே உன்னைத்தானே குற்றவாளியாகத்தீர்க்கிறாய்.

Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.

இப்படிப்பட்டவைகளைச் செய்கிறவர்களுக்குத் தேவனுடைய நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு சத்தியத்தின்படியே இருக்கிறதென்று அறிந்திருக்கிறோம்.

But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.

இப்படிப்பட்டவைகளைச் செய்கிறவர்களைக் குற்றவாளிகளென்று தீர்த்தும், அவைகளையே செய்கிறவனே, நீ தேவனுடைய நியாயத்தீர்ப்புக்குத் தப்பிக்கொள்ளலாமென்று நினைக்கிறாயோ?

And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

அல்லது தேவதயவு நீ குணப்படும்படி உன்னை ஏவுகிறதென்று அறியாமல், அவருடைய தயவு பொறுமை நீடிய சாந்தம் இவைகளின் ஐசுவரியத்தை அசட்டைபண்ணுகிறாயோ?

Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

உன் மனக்கடினத்திற்கும் குணப்படாத இருதயத்திற்கும் ஏற்றபடி, தேவனுடைய நீதியுள்ள தீர்ப்பு வெளிப்படும் கோபாக்கினைநாளிலே உனக்காகக் கோபாக்கினையைக் குவித்துக்கொள்ளுகிறாயே.

But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

தேவன் அவனவனுடைய கிரியைகளுக்குத்தக்கதாய் அவனவனுக்குப் பலனளிப்பார்.

Who will render to every man according to his deeds:

சோர்ந்துபோகாமல் நற்கிரியைகளைச்செய்து, மகிமையையும் கனத்தையும் அழியாமையையும் தேடுகிறவர்களுக்கு நித்தியஜீவனை அளிப்பார்.

To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:

சண்டைக்காரராயிருந்து, சத்தியத்திற்குக் கீழ்ப்படியாமல், அநியாயத்திற்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்திருக்கிறவர்களுக்கோ உக்கிரகோபாக்கினை வரும்.

But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,

முன்பு யூதரிலும் பின்பு கிரேக்கரிலும் பொல்லாங்குசெய்கிற எந்த மனுஷ ஆத்துமாவுக்கும் உபத்திரவமும் வியாகுலமும் உண்டாகும்.

Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;

முன்பு யூதரிலும் பின்பு கிரேக்கரிலும் எவன் நன்மைசெய்கிறானோ அவனுக்கு மகிமையும் கனமும் சமாதானமும் உண்டாகும்.

But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:

தேவனிடத்தில் பட்சபாதமில்லை.

For there is no respect of persons with God.

எவர்கள் நியாயப்பிரமாணமில்லாமல் பாவஞ்செய்கிறார்களோ, அவர்கள் நியாயப்பிரமாணமில்லாமல் கெட்டுப்போவார்கள்; எவர்கள் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்துக்குட்பட்டவர்களாய்ப் பாவஞ்செய்கிறார்களோ, அவர்கள் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தினாலே ஆக்கினைத்தீர்ப்படைவார்கள்.

For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;

நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தைக் கேட்கிறவர்கள் தேவனுக்கு முன்பாக நீதிமான்களல்ல, நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின்படி செய்கிறவர்களே நீதிமான்களாக்கப்படுவார்கள்.

For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

அன்றியும் நியாயப்பிரமாணமில்லாத புறஜாதிகள் சுபாவமாய் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின்படி செய்கிறபோது, நியாயப்பிரமாணமில்லாத அவர்கள் தங்களுக்குத் தாங்களே நியாயப்பிரமாணமாயிருக்கிறார்கள்.

For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:

அவர்களுடைய மனச்சாட்சியும்கூடச் சாட்சியிடுகிறதினாலும், குற்றமுண்டு குற்றமில்லையென்று அவர்களுடைய சிந்தனைகள் ஒன்றையொன்று தீர்க்கிறதினாலும், நியாயப்பிரமாணத்திற்கேற்ற கிரியை தங்கள் இருதயங்களில் எழுதியிருக்கிறதென்று காண்பிக்கிறார்கள்.

Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)

என் சுவிசேஷத்தின்படியே, தேவன் இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவைக்கொண்டு மனுஷருடைய அந்தரங்கங்களைக்குறித்து நியாயத்தீர்ப்புக்கொடுக்கும் நாளிலே இது விளங்கும்.

In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

நீ யூதனென்று பெயர்பெற்று நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின்மேல் பற்றுதலாயிருந்து, தேவனைக்குறித்து மேன்மை பாராட்டி,

Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God,

நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தினால் உபதேசிக்கப்பட்டவனாய், அவருடைய சித்தத்தை அறிந்து, நன்மை தீமை இன்னதென்று வகையறுக்கிறாயே.

And knowest his will, and approvest the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law;

நீ உன்னைக் குருடருக்கு வழிகாட்டியாகவும், அந்தகாரத்திலுள்ளவர்களுக்கு வெளிச்சமாகவும்,

And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness,

பேதைகளுக்குப் போதகனாகவும், குழந்தைகளுக்கு உபாத்தியாயனாகவும், நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின் அறிவையும் சத்தியத்தையும் காட்டிய சட்டமுடையவனாகவும் எண்ணுகிறாயே.

An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law.

இப்படியிருக்க, மற்றவனுக்குப் போதிக்கிற நீ உனக்குத்தானே போதியாமலிருக்கலாமா? களவு செய்யக்கூடாதென்று பிரசங்கிக்கிற நீ களவுசெய்யலாமா?

Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?

விபசாரம் செய்யக்கூடாதென்று சொல்லுகிற நீ விபசாரம் செய்யலாமா? விக்கிரகங்களை அருவருக்கிற நீ கோவில்களைக் கொள்ளையிடலாமா?

Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?

நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தைக்குறித்து மேன்மைபாராட்டுகிற நீ நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தை மீறிநடந்து, தேவனைக் கனவீனம்பண்ணலாமா?

Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God?

எழுதியிருக்கிறபடி, தேவனுடைய நாமம் புறஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே உங்கள் மூலமாய்த் தூஷிக்கப்படுகிறதே.

For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written.

நீ நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தைக் கைக்கொண்டு நடந்தால் விருத்தசேதனம் பிரயோஜனமுள்ளதுதான்; நீ நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தை மீறி நடந்தால் உன் விருத்தசேதனம் விருத்தசேதனமில்லாமையாயிற்றே.

For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision.

மேலும் விருத்தசேதனமில்லாதவன் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்துக்கேற்ற நீதிகளைக் கைக்கொண்டால், அவனுடைய விருத்தசேதனமில்லாமை விருத்தசேதனம் என்றெண்ணப்படுமல்லவா?

Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?

சுபாவத்தின்படி விருத்தசேதனமில்லாதவனாயிருந்தும் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தை நிறைவேற்றுகிறவனாயிருந்தால், அவன் வேத எழுத்தும் விருத்தசேதனமும் உள்ளவனாயிருந்தும், நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தை மீறுகிற உன்னைக் குற்றப்படுத்துவானல்லவா?

And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law?

ஆதலால் புறம்பாக யூதனானவன் யூதனல்ல, புறம்பாக மாம்சத்தில் செய்யப்படும் விருத்தசேதனமும் விருத்தசேதனமல்ல.

For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:

உள்ளத்திலே யூதனானவனே யூதன்; எழுத்தின்படி உண்டாகாமல், ஆவியின்படி இருதயத்தில் உண்டாகும் விருத்தசேதனமே விருத்தசேதனம்; இப்படிப்பட்டவனுக்குரிய புகழ்ச்சி மனுஷராலே அல்ல, தேவனாலே உண்டாயிருக்கிறது.

But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

இப்படியானால், யூதனுடைய மேன்மை என்ன? விருத்தசேதனத்தினாலே பிரயோஜனம் என்ன?

What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision?

அது எவ்விதத்திலும் மிகுதியாயிருக்கிறது; தேவனுடைய வாக்கியங்கள் அவர்களிடத்தில் ஒப்புவிக்கப்பட்டது விசேஷித்த மேன்மையாமே.

Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.

சிலர் விசுவாசியாமற்போனாலுமென்ன? அவர்களுடைய அவிசுவாசம் தேவனுடைய உண்மையை அவமாக்குமோ?

For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?

அப்படியாக்கமாட்டாது: நீர் உம்முடைய வசனங்களில் நீதிபரராய் விளங்கவும், உம்முடைய நியாயம் விசாரிக்கப்படும்போது வெற்றியடையவும் இப்படியாயிற்று என்று எழுதியிருக்கிறபடி, தேவனே சத்தியபரர் என்றும், எந்த மனுஷனும் பொய்யன் என்றும் சொல்வோமாக.

God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

நான் மனுஷர் பேசுகிற பிரகாரமாய்ப் பேசுகிறேன்; நம்முடைய அநீதி தேவனுடைய நீதியை விளங்கப்பண்ணினால் என்ன சொல்லுவோம்? கோபாக்கினையைச் செலுத்துகிற தேவன் அநீதராயிருக்கிறார் என்று சொல்லலாமா?

But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man)

அப்படிச் சொல்லக்கூடாது; சொல்லக்கூடுமானால், தேவன் உலகத்தை நியாயந்தீர்ப்பதெப்படி?

God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world?

அன்றியும், என் பொய்யினாலே தேவனுடைய சத்தியம் அவருக்கு மகிமையுண்டாக விளங்கினதுண்டானால், இனி நான் பாவியென்று தீர்க்கப்படுவானேன்?

For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?

நன்மை வரும்படிக்குத் தீமைசெய்வோமாக என்றும் சொல்லலாமல்லவா? நாங்கள் அப்படிப் போதிக்கிறவர்களென்றும் சிலர் எங்களைத் தூஷித்துச் சொல்லுகிறார்களே; அப்படிப் போதிக்கிறவர்கள்மேல் வரும் ஆக்கினை நீதியாயிருக்கும்.

And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.

ஆனாலும் என்ன? அவர்களைப்பார்க்கிலும் நாங்கள் விசேஷித்தவர்களா? எவ்வளவேனும் விசேஷித்தவர்களல்ல, யூதர் கிரேக்கர் யாவரும் பாவத்திற்குட்பட்டவர்களென்பதை முன்பு திருஷ்டாந்தப்படுத்தினோமே.

What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;

அந்தப்படியே: நீதிமான் ஒருவனாகிலும் இல்லை;

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

உணர்வுள்ளவன் இல்லை; தேவனைத் தேடுகிறவன் இல்லை;

There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

எல்லாரும் வழிதப்பி, ஏகமாய்க் கெட்டுப்போனார்கள்; நன்மைசெய்கிறவன் இல்லை, ஒருவனாகிலும் இல்லை.

They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

அவர்கள் தொண்டை திறக்கப்பட்ட பிரேதக்குழி, தங்கள் நாவுகளால் வஞ்சனைசெய்கிறார்கள்; அவர்களுடைய உதடுகளின் கீழே பாம்பின் விஷம் இருக்கிறது;

Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:

அவர்கள் வாய் சபிப்பினாலும் கசப்பினாலும் நிறைந்திருக்கிறது;

Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:

அவர்கள் கால்கள் இரத்தஞ்சிந்துகிறதற்குத் தீவிரிக்கிறது;

Their feet are swift to shed blood:

நாசமும் நிர்ப்பந்தமும் அவர்கள் வழிகளிலிருக்கிறது;

Destruction and misery are in their ways:

சமாதானவழியை அவர்கள் அறியாதிருக்கிறார்கள்;

And the way of peace have they not known:

அவர்கள் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாகத் தெய்வபயமில்லை, என்று எழுதியிருக்கிறதே.

There is no fear of God before their eyes.

மேலும், வாய்கள் யாவும் அடைக்கப்படும்படிக்கும், உலகத்தார் யாவரும் தேவனுடைய ஆக்கினைத்தீர்ப்புக்கு ஏதுவானவர்களாகும்படிக்கும், நியாயப்பிரமாணம் சொல்லுகிறதெல்லாம் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்துக்கு உட்பட்டிருக்கிறவர்களுக்கே சொல்லுகிறதென்று அறிந்திருக்கிறோம்.

Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

இப்படியிருக்க, பாவத்தை அறிகிற அறிவு நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தினால் வருகிறபடியால், எந்த மனுஷனும் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின் கிரியைகளினாலே தேவனுக்கு முன்பாக நீதிமானாக்கப்படுவதில்லை.

Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

இப்படியிருக்க, நியாயப்பிரமாணமில்லாமல் தேவநீதி வெளியாக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது; அதைக்குறித்து நியாயப்பிரமாணமும் தீர்க்கதரிசனங்களும் சாட்சியிடுகிறது.

But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

அது இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவைப்பற்றும் விசுவாசத்தினாலே பலிக்கும் தேவநீதியே; விசுவாசிக்கிற எவர்களுக்குள்ளும் எவர்கள்மேலும் அது பலிக்கும், வித்தியாசமே இல்லை.

Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

எல்லாரும் பாவஞ்செய்து, தேவமகிமையற்றவர்களாகி,

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

இலவசமாய் அவருடைய கிருபையினாலே கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவிலுள்ள மீட்பைக்கொண்டு நீதிமான்களாக்கப்படுகிறார்கள்;

Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

தேவன் பொறுமையாயிருந்த முற்காலத்தில் நடந்த பாவங்களைத் தாம் பொறுத்துக்கொண்டதைக்குறித்துத் தம்முடைய நீதியைக் காண்பிக்கும்பொருட்டாகவும், தாம் நீதியுள்ளவரும், இயேசுவினிடத்தில் விசுவாசமாயிருக்கிறவனை நீதிமானாக்குகிறவருமாய் விளங்கும்படி, இக்காலத்திலே தமது நீதியைக் காண்பிக்கும் பொருட்டாகவும்,

Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவினுடைய இரத்ததைப்பற்றும் விசுவாசத்தினாலே பலிக்கும் கிருபாதாரபலியாக அவரையே ஏற்படுத்தினார்.

To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

இப்படியிருக்க, மேன்மைபாராட்டல் எங்கே? அது நீக்கப்பட்டதே. எந்தப் பிரமாணத்தினாலே? கிரியாப்பிரமாணத்தினாலேயா? அல்ல; விசுவாசப்பிரமாணத்தினாலேயே.

Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

ஆதலால், மனுஷன் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின் கிரியைகளில்லாமல் விசுவாசத்தினாலேயே நீதிமானாக்கப்படுகிறான் என்று தீர்க்கிறோம்.

Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

தேவன் யூதருக்குமாத்திரமா தேவன்? புறஜாதிகளுக்கும் தேவனல்லவா? ஆம் புறஜாதிகளுக்கும் அவர் தேவன்தான்.

Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:

விருத்தசேதனமுள்ளவர்களை விசுவாசத்தினாலும், விருத்தசேதனமில்லாதவர்களை விசுவாசத்தின் மூலமாயும் நீதிமான்களாக்குகிற தேவன் ஒருவரே.

Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.

அப்படியானால், விசுவாசத்தினாலே நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தை அவமாக்குகிறோமா? அப்படியல்ல; நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தை நிலைநிறுத்துகிறோமே.

Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
